Love this place! Never too crowded and the owners man the bar. They have unique beers/wines/sake, a TV, juke box and mini dance floor. Great place!

If I can give below zero stars I would off. Worst customer service. Ultra rude people. Drinks way over priced. I would stay away at all cost! This is the first time I ever write a bad review about a business because I tend to look at the best in life. But the way I was treated was very rude and shitty.

Needed a place to pause between an A’s day game and an evening alumni event. Good bartender, good company at the bar — took one patron’s advice and got a $ 3 Sapporo. Got tips on some good places to eat in Chinatown from the fellow who replaced him on the barstool to my left — surprisingly the Broadway/Man Kee/Finn Café did not come up. Not a true dive bar for two reasons: Room is too shiny and moderne to be a dive, and the conversation pits discourage the sort of free-flowing conversations that are the hallmark of a dive bar.(Further, a total of ONE cute girl arrived while I was there, while a couple of 4s who thought they were 8s eventually emerged from the pits). But if you don’t want to mix with the hoi polloi, perhaps the pits are for you. Mama monitors the bar, while Papa monitors Mama(seemingly).

My favorite bar in the financial district. Full of regulars with a great atmosphere and the owners are awesome.

My friend and I were in San Francisco over the weekend and found this place randomly. The ambience seemed cool and we decided to walk in. Everything seemed nice, and a gentleman came to take our order. But we were not ready to order anything just yet and said we needed some time. One minute later a girl approached us and started harassing and pressuring us to buy something immediately(I believe she was another bartender). We told her we were going to order something, and we needed more time to decide. However, she did not leave us alone and kept pushing us to get up and order something. We were not in the mood to argue, so we got up and ordered some drinks. We finished the drinks in 10 minutes, and then left, since that girl ruined our mood. It started to hit us later how rude she was towards us, it was such an unusual and weird experience that really made us leave EZ5 with the worst possible memory and experience.

Visited this pub with great singers and live performance since 3 years ago but was totally disappointed with their service that has got from bad to worse. There are 3 performances every night at 945pm, 1045pm and 1145pm. Every entrance fee costs NT700 from Sunday to Thursday and NT800 on Friday and Saturday. You will be given 2 vouchers for ordering of light snacks and non-alcoholic/alcoholic beverages upon entrance. While it is reasonable for the crew to take in more customers to watch performance when all tables are occupied, it is unreasonable when you are required to ‘squeeze’ yourself at some corner or stand in between tables, not having a tiny space to put your drinks/snacks at all. It is a shame that service crew is usually ignorant with a ‘i-couldn’t-care-less’ attitude when you approach them to ask for help. Advice: If you really want to get a hang of it, do visit this place on weekdays only. If you can’t get to this place before 8.30pm-ish to get a table/can’t reserve a table because you don’t own a local mobile number/could reserve a table but couldn’t make it to the place before 9pm, I would suggest to just give it a pass, unless you could endure standing at the same spot for 3 hours and not ordering anything having paid NT700 or NT800.

I came here last week late in the evening and the place was quiet. Based on some of the reviews, the best time to come is after work, Monday through Friday. Anyways, the bartender and owners were really nice. The drinks were competitively priced and they have $ 1 jello shots! I saw turntables, but unfortunately the music was being played from the jukebox. I would definitely come here again next time I’m in the area, but just after work hours.

Super fun and laid-back dive bar. The owners are extremely welcoming and will make sure everyone is having a good time. If you’re looking for a place to hang out and have fun, this is your bar.

This review is way, way overdue. I have been coming to the EZ5 for the past 10+ years, & have ALWAYS experienced great service, a calm, no-hassle, relaxed atmosphere, good, reasonably-priced drinks, & a warm & welcoming attitude from the Owners, Kam & Annie. It is one of the only bars in the city where I have never seen or experienced any«hassle» or had to deal with any customers who had over-imbibed. In short, it is a great neighborhood bar, with a great happy hour, Guinness on tap & a very good house wine selection. They train their bartenders & wait staff well, & service is always top-notch. If you’ve not been to EZ5, stop by Commercial Street & Kearny, between Sacramento & Clay, give it a try, & write a review. I will be interested to see if my experience holds true with you; a great place for cocktails & to «KB&MO»(Kick Back & Mellow Out) at any time of the evening!

I dropped into EZ5 to watch the NBA playoffs. First off, I never knew there was a dive bar here. Secondly, I didn’t know this place was really cool! The game was on Wednesday and the place was pretty empty. I loved it! It was like watching the game at home without having to commit to a six pack of one particular beer(you know. Because I have commitment issues). INSTEAD! I was able to buy drafts for the very reasonable price of $ 5 per pint. I was switching it up between Sierras and Pyramids which are both solid choices. There were several TV’s to watch the game and TONS of couch space. Talk about feeling like home. It’d be great for groups as large as 7 – 10 people. This dive bar has no frills and no food so check that appetite at the door. Bottom line: Very solid establishment. I’m going to come here for all my sports watching going forward.

SUPER divey bar located in Chinatown. It’s really oddly decorated, but if you’re used to Chinese homes, the décor might not surprise you too much. I came for happy hour with some coworkers and they have some pretty good happy hour deals. Definitely not my kind of bar, but with $ 5 wine, I wouldn’t be completely opposed to coming back.

It’s okay. I came here for a work event, otherwise, I probably would’ve never discovered this spot on my own. It’s on the fence of the Financial District and Chinatown. The outside is unassuming and the bar is located halfway down a random alleyway. Once inside though, it did«feel like a bar.» Interesting choice of music(lots of 80’s; lots of Madonna).Drinks are super cheap(esp for being so close to financial). Crowd is the after-work happy hour crowd. Okay bar, although there are definitely better ones in the area.

I’ve been here a few times for HH in the past as the bartenderess were eye-candy, and the place was dim but full of locals. I didn’t mind and went out of the way to go here. Nowadays both are reversed and nothing wrong with that, coughs. As a result, the place feels out of the way. Kudos for carrying Galaga though. Still worthy of a stop if it’s convenient. The drinks are priced cheaper than many places though a bit watered down.

Awesome spot to relax after a long day! It is hard to beat the service, strength of drinks, and the atmosphere. Whether you are looking for a couple drinks with your buddies after work, or a night with a large group, this is the spot! There are always snacks, drink deals, and if you are lucky, a few jello shots! 99% of the time you are able to request music to be played by the dj, and really make the spot your own! A hidden jem in the city!!!

I stopped in for a happy hour and the place was rocking. I enjoyed the location on the alley and the front couch area was roomy enough to hand out without being claustrophobic. The bar area itself was a bit dark and the blue glow made it feel more like a nightclub than a lounge/cocktail bar. The low point was the Manhattan I ordered — simply average(a bit watery due to the preparation). The prices, however, were a complete surprise. 2 glasses of wine and a manhattan came to $ 16? That didn’t seem right, but I guess the HH prices were truly that low. So no complaints.

Despite tacky décor that seemed to come right out of a cheesy ‘80s sitcom, this place provided several hours of fun. Located on a side street alley in Chinatown, EZ5 still gave my group of friends plenty of room to dance! Drinks were just okay, though there were also some freebies given from the bar, including Jell-O shots. Also were some smokers outside by the door, which wafted their smoke right on in to «breathe» for awhile. Mainly was great for getting to dance to good music at a dive bar.

I’m not sure a bar can get more awesome for me. Friendly bar owners, the place was empty and they were playing some awesome old school hip hop. Thank you and yes please. Some people HATE empty bars, I on the other hand love it. I love getting drinks when I want ‘em, I love when the music is awesome and you can hear it and occasionally break out in dance moves, and I love not waiting for a bathroom. All of those things went down here. The place has a long bar with some couches readily available for your seating pleasures and of course an old school Pac Man/Galaga game. Can I get a hell yeah? This place is a dive without the dive. Does that make sense? I hope so. The check in offer of a $ 4 Fernet shot got my homies pretty drunk but, I switched it to Jameson and it was all good. Only one per customer ladies and gents. Keep playing that hip hop, stay away crowds, and I’ll be there all night long. *** Def peep it. *** When I’m in SF once a year.

While it’s not the«Chinese Ultra-lounge in the FiDi» as my friend once called it, EZ5 is a good after-work hole in the wall kind of watering hole that really grows on you. The décor is truly a mish-mash of things — think orange walls juxtaposed by leopard print but it’s all about the service here and specifically — MaMa, the owner. She is truly the most warm and hospitable host who makes sure you’re having a good time. Armed with free jello shots, she gives them out to patrons(you can buy them too) who lap them up like kids with candy. We made up a game — jello shot jenga( ) with our stash. Truly fun. EZ5 is an unapologetically unpretentious watering hole. Just come in and have fun; nobody judges here. Plus if you’re hungry, you can have Chinese food delivered from New Hong Kong Menu across the street. MaMa cool with that.
