Nice little corner convenience store. Superb service by the owner which was very nice and help full for two norwegian tourists visiting SF. Selection was good and we found what we where looking for, very nice.

We have a home a half block away up 20th Street, so F&G is our go-to corner grocery for last minute purchases or – like tonight — an ice cream run after dinner. Joe is always there, smiles and good-will, making this corner shop a friendly«second home». We have been customers for over 10 years, and never has there been any disappointment(aside from running out of Ben&Jerry ice cream on warm nights like tonight). All those odds and ends that you run out of – milk, dish detergent, beer, toilet paper, a can of this or can of that — Joe has them all, and knows exactly where they are in the shop. Of course he has lottery tickets(with bright sign in window) and of course I buy a couple every visit. If I were to win millions, I would give Joe a chunk so he could retire — but I suspect he would still come to the store every day. This is his life!

Walk in and enjoy at the jungle of happy plants growing throughout Joe’s store. All that love and care Joe gives his plants is a reflection of how he takes care of his customers. I could go on about how much I appreciate the way Joe goes out of his way to carry all varieties of what his customers want(in my case: at least 6 different organic wines, every flavor and variety of kombucha, of rice and almond milks and, yes, at least 5 different flavors of sardines)… I could also go on about how kind Joe’s whole family is and how nice it is to see his wife and sons when they’re there helping out… But those happy, growing plants(many given to Joe by neighbors when they move) tells you all you need to know. I know most people is SF feel their corner store is The Best, but Joe’s really is. Thank you Joe and family!

I love Joe, he’s a sweetie. He never asks me questions about my consistent propensity for Cheetos Flaming Hot and Bombay Sapphire gin. He remembers that Marlboro Lights are my drug of choice. He ALWAYS chats about the weather. He receives my packages when I’m not in. He allows me to stick our fire extinguisher in his store to be refilled. He lets me owe him when I forget to bring my wallet around(I’m forgetful and kind of a drunk, okay?!) He’s a kind, good man and I love having him for a neighbor :)

Joe rocks. He’s kind and remembers his patrons and has most everything you need in stock and ready to go. His prices are decent as far as corner stores go and you can always trust him.

I never met a nicer corner store owner. Always a smile or a handshake(a hug at christmas), and a genuine ‘how are you?’. And that’s what it’s all about. The store has everything I need for when I run out — Beer, wine, paper, milk, eggs, laundry detergent — but I get it here because of Joe. He keeps me up on the hood goss, watches out for my car, and keeps me up to date on his comings and goings. JOEYOUARETHEBESTEVER!

WELOVEJOE! It’s people like him that really make living in the city what it is meant to be. When you need a little something — milk in the morning, wine in the evening — you just pop in there and get it with a friendly smile from someone who really cares.

Another reason to miss living in the old Mission-Dolores ‘hood– this corner store was like a second home for me and my roommates.(We were into beer, okay?) It really was all about Joey, the sweet and welcoming owner. He was willing to take requests for special beer and other items. And for some reason, I won more scratchers from this spot than from any other place. If you’re in the area, stop by for a 6-pack, a smile and a little luck.

This is a simple neighbourhood convenience store. I go here for simple things that I run out of– you are not going to find a newfangled hummus here but you will find Joe– a incredible nice owner that is always there.

The owner is always kind to me. He often asks me how I’m doing, or we talk about the weather. I often see him out front sweeping the sidewalk. He makes me feel good. That’s why I like buying beer or wine or ice cream at his grocery. Plus it’s less than a block from my house.
