Johnny was awesome! He is super friendly and his cut was very stylish and modern. Also he made sure to cut it wet and dry so as it to look good when dry without effort and to last for a longer time.

Johnny is a baller! He is incredibly trendy but has the experience to back it up with timelessness. He is very detailed and precise. He works to find the cut that works best for you. The atmosphere feels really personal as well as it’s just him. Total VIP vibe.

Johnny asked a lot of questions to make sure that it was going to be the exact haircut I wanted, for my especially thick and wavy hair. Thanks, Johnny!

Was my first time here, and I can say it was a great experience and great haircut for a moderate price. I had a tough time describing what I wanted my haircut to be, and Johnny was able to make adjustments along the way to get it just right. He also works very efficiently and I was in in and out in about 30 min. He seems to be able to do in less strokes what other stylists do, very efficient!
Definitely will be back here soon, a great neighborhood barber with great quality and a value. It’s by appointment only so be sure to call ahead to book a spot!

Johnny is really wonderful. I’m a pretty low-​maintenance hair girl and am really quite clueless as to how to verbalize what I want my hair to look like. On my first visit, with very little input from me (as it really didn’t seem to be necessary), Johnny described his plan to add some lightness and body to my haircut. He worked quickly but with incredible knowledge, skill and professionalism. He also has great recommendations for hair-​care and products (without pushing specific product lines, which I really appreciate). I LOVE my new haircut and will definitely be back again.

Johnny is truly a professional in what he is doing. With a charming personality, he always makes you comfortable to step out of your comfort zone to try new hairstyles. He almost gives me a new hairstyles every time I come here. I was scared at first but I always got positive commons about my hairs.
You need to make appointment though. He is busy!

Pretty good price for a salon and he had me in and out of there pretty quickly. Stylist was a nice guy and I’m really happy with the results.

I have crazy thick hair and have actually had stylists comment on it being hard to cut. Johnny did a fantastic job cutting my hair and had lots of great tips on how to keep it looking halfway decent with a minimum of work. I was just a walk-​in, but I’ll keep coming back. Oh, and the price was half of the last salon with none of the pretense!

Woohoo! I’m so happy with my hair and Johnny as my stylist. He knows what he is doing, takes pride in his work, and pays special attention to detail. In talking to him I also found that he continues to seek the latest classes in cutting and styling– big plus. I had my hair highlighted by him last year– the color was great and there was little damage to my hair due to the vegan products he uses. You have to book him by appointment only but he is super flexible and will fit you in. Since this is his salon he makes his own hours and will work with you. I had my hair cut during lunch yesterday and was done in 50 min flat giving me time to grab a quick bite and head back to the office:) Nice!

Jonny is the man! I’m very picky on who cuts my hair and he does it the best. Tough to find someone who can cut asian hair well and Johnny does not disappoint. Recently moved pretty far away and I will continue to go to Firefly.

Great place for guys who don’t want a shite haircut from a place like Stupidcuts, but also don’t want to go to a full on salon with their girlfriend and pay $ 50+ for a cut. Johnny is very mellow and helpful and did an awesome job when I wasn’t even sure exactly what I wanted. Walked out feeling good about a haircut for the first time in… awhile.

Just came down from Seattle not long ago and wanted a place close to my work which I could get to easily. Johnny does a great job on men’s cuts, easy to get along with; not overly talkative yet friendly and engaging.
He is also quite quick, if you aren’t getting anything too fancy he can get you out in less than half an hour.

After my poor experience with Salon Baobao I discovered Firefly on Unilocal and decided to give it a try. Johnny was so sweet on the phone and I was able to book an appointment for that Friday the same week. Last minute I had to change my time, and Johnny was super flexible.
I rode my bike to his salon and he let me bring it inside. What great service. He cut off my long hair and bagged it so I could mail it in for locks of love. Then he gave me the cutest bob.
When booking the appointment I asked about the 20% Unilocal discount and he said the cut was going to be $ 60. Then I asked him about his regular price at the salon and he said $ 60. His prices aren’t listed anywhere so it’s a little confusing. However, $ 60 isn’t bad at all, so I was happy to pay it.

I am sold. I had read the reviews on here, so I went ahead and bought the ½ price coupon online. What did I have to lose other than my hair, right?
I had been floating around amongst a few hair stylists and hadn’t found anyone I was happy with.
Johnny was great, asked what I wanted, made a couple of suggestions, but didn’t force me to do something out of the ordinary.
I don’t like salons where all I hear about is what the latest celebrity is doing — who cares, that is what trash magazines & trash TV are for, so it was pleasant to have Johnny trim & style my hair, some chatter but not boring me out of my skull…
Loved the style, I can walk there which is perfect and I will definitely be back.

I have been going to Johnny for about 5 years now. Before that I searched everywhere for someone who would do beautiful and interesting things with my hair – and not the same things over and over again. I highly recommend Johnny; his prices are reasonable, and he does a beautiful cut, and his colors are beautifully done as well (how nice to have both talents in one person!), and the haircuts grow out well – you don’t look mangey or weird before your next cut.

I am glad to give Johnny free-​rein over my hair. I know not everyone wants that, but this is one reason Johnny is such a jewel for me.
He also has cut my son’s hair, and my son was very happy – Johnny gave him a mohawk, which is exactly what my son wanted, and it looked good.
