Fossil Faux Studios

I was just walking by and saw these neat looking iPad stands in the window. They were made of a clear resin type material with stuff melted inside i.e. grass. I walked in and had the pleasure of meeting Marcia and learning more about all her cool products. They are endless. She makes everything from custom countertops to tables to chairs to public art installations and stuff for bars. Basically she can embed any item in this resin material. The result is some really cool looking stuff. Next time I’m in the area I will post a picture. Check it out.

Marcia Stuermer is a fantastic designer and Fossil Faux is a great business. My wife and I worked with Marcia to design a green resin counter top with embedded leaves and computer chips. Marcia is such a perfectionist that she recast the piece a second time due to some very minor imperfections. Our finished countertop is gorgeous. We’ve had it in our house for over 8 years now, and it looks as clean and new as the day we installed it. I’ve also purchased various resin off-​cuts from Marcia and built small art pieces with them. Marcia runs a great business.

Excellent service and a amazingly beautiful and functional product. The designs are quite varied and flexible, and the choice of types of furniture/​objects seems to be able to satisfy nearly anyone’s needs. Nothing quite like this anywhere else. A definite must for those who want something special and usable in their home.

My absolute favorite wedding gift received to date is a Lazy Susan from Fossil Faux Studios. The matte finish of the resin is wonderful to the touch and pleasing to the eye. The piece is practical while at the same time makes a statement in any setting (we keep it handy on our coffee table, where we eat dinner.) This is my first piece by Marcia, and I am certain I will be collecting more of her creative work in the future. Interesting, original, and each piece is unique!

I recently commissioned a dining table from Fossil Faux Studios after years of admiring this work, and I could not be more thrilled. Designer Marcia Stuermer created the perfect vehicle for displaying my great grandmother’s hand-​made doilies, mixing in some modern pieces for contrast. The exact process was was worked out in advance in a gorgeous sample, which I still have and now use as a lazy susan! The entire process working with Marcia and her company was professional and smooth, the fabrication is flawless, and the surface is the easiest possible finish to live with, making this piece of art a durable and practical piece of furniture.
