Freddy’s Auto Electric

Carlos and Freddy have been wonderful partners working on my classic ’77 Ford Bronco. Great at diagnosing problems, Very good communication, honest pricing and accommodating when it might leave you stranded somewhere. Always willing to give honest options to fix what is asked but also give great advice as I have been wanting to upgrade systems to better than original. I make the choices based on my budget and what I want to accomplish in steps. They have stood behind issues when they came up (had to replace a brand new Edelbrock carb that wasn’t functioning properly, a during a few wiring snafus). So far I have upgraded charging system, cleaned up all of my wiring, tune up, new carb, new auto meter racing gauges and added some auxillary lights. Found Freddy’s Auto Electric from a recommendation from Rick over at R Mustangs (great shop for classic Ford’s) and so glad I starting going here.

Freddy’s is a terrific car mechanical shop. About a year ago I was having electrical/​light issues with my 1995 Mustang GT. I surely did not want to take my Mustang to a Ford/​dealer location and Larkin Bros recommended Freddy’s Electric. Firstly Carlos said right away they could fix the electrical issues I was having. They did and the price was reasonable. He and his dad Freddy are such nice people, they seem more interested in customer service and that you are satisfied as a customer. They have done such good quality work on my car since then so that it will continue to run in the future. They also recently replaced my transmission and the car runs great with 144,000 miles on it! I feel fortunate to have found this honest/​quality auto shop and as one reviewer said Carlos is very intent on listening to the issue with your car. The quality and detailed work they’ve done on my car made my decision much easier not to spend $$$ buying a new car.

I love Freddy’s! After being fed up with having to redo all work done by one of those «specialty» European shops I got a recommendation to check out Frieddy’s. Carlos always remembers me by name, they are fast, personable, reasonable and do very high quality work. I only take my car to Freddy’s now and have even gotten my family in the area to do the same. I wish I could give them 10 stars!

My Corolla had a faulty headlight. I had installed a new lightbulb, but that didn’t seem to solve the problem. So, I took it to Freddy’s. After a quick on the spot assessment, the repair man found that it was the actual fuse that needed repairing. He took care of problem in less than 2 hours. I paid a reasonable fee and left one happy customer.

I was referred to Freddy’s by Larkins Brothers Tires. My window was broken and wouldn’t go up or down. I got it replaced three months ago at another mechanic who charged me $ 300 and used crap aftermarket parts.
Carlos exceeded my expectations by getting the repair done earlier than promised; charging me only $ 250 and giving me back the old crap part so I could send it back to the other mechanic for warranty reimbursement. Carlos also made sure to show me that the new part he put in was from Ford and not a made in china part.
I will be going back to Freddys!

These folks are Lifesavers I had an electrical issue downtown about 5 PM AAA got me to the shop about a quarter after six they had a car set up for me everything customer service beyond belief I thought it was going to cost me five or $ 600 to get truck fixed to give me a bill for hundred and 87 bucks I’m not easily impressed but I was impressed with Carlos and Freddy also impressed I’ve got some other work scheduled for them to do to my truck

I was first introduced to Freddy and Carlos many years ago when a stranger stopped to help when my car had broken down (I know pretty amazing in the city) She swore they are the mechanics in SF and She was right. I am on my third car and they have been amazing in sooo many ways. They absolutely know what they are doing, their rates are reasonable and they don’t talk to me like I am an idiot. They have gone above and beyond to help me in so many ways. I highly recommend this family run business if you want a mechanic that is both honest and personable.

Once again, I had to bring my car into Freddy’s and once again, I was impressed. They didn’t try to sell me anything I didn’t need, and they showed me exactly what they replaced! Above all, they gave me a fair price! 100%happy :)

Freddy’s is wonderful. They are reliable, kind, and their prices are great! They recently helped me with an electrical issue with my honda civic. I was referred to Freddy’s by a honda mechanic after 2 places couldn’t help me… and these guys fixed my car in no time (and for way cheaper than the Honda dealership up the street quoted just to diagnose the problem). Carlos was the man who helped me, and he was extremely helpful, nice, and explained everything that was going on. He even worked late afterhours so that I could pick up my car in the morning. Highly recommended!

Stopped in to Freddy’s this morning looking for some free advice about a starter I had rebuilt myself. Freddy was super nice and took a minute to test the unit to confirm it was working properly and give me an explanation as to why the turning resistance I was feeling was normal. I’m a do it myself car repair person but there are plenty of auto electric things even the shade tree mechanic can’t always do (alternator rebuilds for instance) and for auto electric I will definitely come back to Freddy.

Freddy’s is great! The personal attention we get from Carlos and the quality of his work has kept us coming back for years.
If you’re looking to build a long-​term relationship with a mechanic instead of a quick, cheap band-​aid fix, then this is the place to go. Over the long term, our older model, pretty beat-​up car has driven better, with fewer and fewer problems because the guys here have put in preemptive safeguards and thoughtful maintenance. Work is always clearly explained and parts & labor are consistently and fairly priced. The shop can get pretty busy sometimes, so it’s always a good idea to call ahead.
An added bonus is the location– near to transportation, rental cars and restaurants/​cafes so you’re covered whether you’re waiting on a quick fix, or you’re in for major work.

Had talked to the owner Freddy and we set a price for the work to be done on my car. Left my car and when I got back his son Carlos was very rude and told me he had to run some test on my car.
(without my consent) and he told me I had to get repairs that will cost me over $ 900 when I told him I did not want to do this repairs he then told me I had to pay $ 240 for the diagnostic which I did not agreed on and did not sign for. He refused to give me my car keys when I told him I was not going to pay. He finally made me pay $ 150 because he was getting aggressive and I did not want to get into a confrontation with a man. No repairs were made. AVOID THIS PLACE

These guys were soooo nice — they reduced the price of my agreed-​upon estimate from $ 170 to $ 120 when they realized they wouldn’t be able to fix my problem — but were clear on what the issue was and what my options were. Only bummer was the cost of the estimate, though it admittedly was an explicit gamble they communicated as to whether they’d be able to fix it for that fee.
