We came here twice with our 3.5 year old son and they were so kind and helpful to us even though we were not the quietest customers. Helen let us put our stroller in their back hallway and made an extra special hot chocolate for our boy. The
Phở and Rainbow Thai salad are amazing and delicious. Highly recommend and came back for a second visit two days later!

Had wonton soup and teriyaki chicken. Would rate them among the best I ever had.
Tasty, healthy, and sufficient portion.
Don’t waste your money at those expensive good looking Asian restaurants. Go here.

This quaint little café was a nice surprised! The food was made with care and attention to detail. Just looking at the food you can tell it was going taste good. I had the pastrami on rye with Swiss was delicious! Will definitely go back!

For years, this was the closest café to me. It is ok. I went for convenience, not because I loved anything. Certainly not a place to seek out. The service was always haphazard, and I would stay away for months at a time because of it. Finally I stopped going altogether.

Delicious food, everything is made fresh. I had vegan phở and French fries and my husband had beef phở and pork sandwich everything was fresh, tasty delicious!

Found this place via Unilocal looking for a cheap, good, easy lunch spot, and the pictures/​reviews looked good on here/​Google Maps Street View. It’s an informal, cozy place with many American/​Vietnamese selections (as other reviews have listed) for under $ 10. The wonton phở was yummy, the owner was very friendly, and the bathroom was very clean (!). If we’re ever up in SF in this part of town again and looking for a good, cheap lunch, we’ll definitely consider this place!

I came here to get a sandwich instead of heading to Safeway. The service took waaaaay too long. There was one sweet woman cooking and taking orders for the café. I would not come back.

They were so rude. I was yelled at within a minute of entering their restaurant. I sat down to look for something to eat on the menu and was scolded for not ordering anything right away. I think they assumed that I was looking up reviews on their restaurant. They weren’t even busy.

Rude rude rude. That’s all I have to say. I guess some people don’t believe in costumer service and feel they can just yell at you? I tried to give the local place my business but when you have ridiculous minimums, an unfriendly staff that comments, «we always have to deal with customers like that!» Like what? A person who can hear how rude you’re being. And when you’re confronted you don’t even pretend to be contrite, you just yell at me to leave my own neighborhood!!! How dare you! I would rather go to Starbucks everyday than deal with this place. It’s twice as clean, twice as friendly, and half the price. I look forward to seeing this business go down.

This place was excellent! If you want fresh, heathy, good and just an all around great place to eat… Stop here! We got 3 sandwiches all of which were awesome. The service was great and we were in and out quickly! The portions were perfect sized and I will definitely be back :)

Forced by orthopedic surgery to ensconce in the neighborhood for an extended stay, we became regulars at Helen’s delightful little café. We repeated for the wonderful soups, but the sandwiches, and sweets were equally tasty, especially at these prices. Particularly impressive was Helen’s memory of personal food preferences after an absence of over three months!

We stumbled upon this little gem after walking our dogs around Ft. Mason and the Marina. It’s on the same street as the Starbucks but a block away from the water.
Bring your dog! There are 3 lovely outdoor tables which is why we ate here. I had the Greek salad with chicken and a side of bread. Hubby had the phở. Service was great even though one of our dogs yapped at the server. She solved the problem by serving us through the window from the restaurant. Worked great! If we needed anything, we flagged her down via the same window. Obviously, we were the only diners at the time.
Inside you can see that they make everything fresh on what appears to be fancy French range.
