The service sucked. It took 30 minutes just to place an order. The food was very expensive and certainly wasn’t worth what I paid for it. I got the chicken sandwich, which was mostly cheese(and not much actual chicken). The fries were bland and tasted undercooked. I may need to come back here to see if this was a one time bad experience, but I was disappointed with this place. My friend got a athens burger– the burger soggy and looked like random stuff was added to it. The place lacks character and and is bad overall.

The reason to write this review is the breakfast special. Weekdays before 11 they have a full breakfast for around $ 7. Pancake, salad, eggs and bacon. Hard to beat in San Francisco. The food is good(though a bit dear for what it is if not getting the special). Service sometimes makes mistakes, but they are always good natured and willing to fix problems when they happen.

Ordered their food for delivery and I have always been happy. Today I was going to eat in and I ordered and then something came up and I had to take the food to go. He handed me what looked like a burrito. But it wasn’t wrapped well and would be near impossible to eat. I said doesn’t it come with a small salad and he said no. Wow 19 bucks is a lot for a tin foil wrapped crêpe and an Orangina. I know when I order delivery I get a latte salad. Yeah I won’t ever eat in. Plus the guy was ignoring me when I asked if I could have it in a box because it would be to hard to eat. He was talking over me to the guy that wakes in after me. Terrible experience.

I’ve been in love with this place since they first opened and they always satisfy. Great food, ambience and service. Crepes are delish, burgers are bomb and of course the fries are just perfection.

We forwent freakin 10PM Mexican food in the freakin Mission because Frjtz promised of delicious, Belgian-style fries. What I got in lieu of a revelatory greasy chimichanga at La Taqueria were unappetizing, unseasoned slices of practically raw potato(I prefer Safeway’s deli counter), unexciting apparently pre-bottled sauces, and a floppy, lazy burger that I couldn’t manage to fight through, all elements incredibly expensive($ 15 burger, plus fries) for the quality received. It’s one thing to tout as a burger joint and have a mediocre burger, but it’s another failure to also lose out on the eponymous dish, plus give Belgium a bad name — I visited Brussels in June and the gueuze alone was enough to seduce me – for those who form their impression of the country based on an unfortunate visit here.

BESTFRIESEVER!!! I’ve been coming here for years and I have not found a place better than this place! Their fries are amazeballs! And on top of that they have some of the best dipping sauces for your fries. I always have to stop by here when I’m in the city. Go check them out!

I had the Tate Brunch. I still have dreams of this dish. It is so filling and flavorful. I love the savory and tartness of the eggs, salmon, capers, and goat cheese together. The potatoes were crispy and well seasoned– I love how they mixed them with roasted peppers. What a lovely treat. The coffee was very good. The atmosphere was relaxed and lovely. I sat on the mat near the window. The servers were friendly and helpful. Definitely going back for the food, service, and ambiance.

Stopped in here during lunch and ordered, I think the Picasso. It had onions, blue cheese, peppers, eggplant with some chicken. I thought it was ok but I had hoped that it would have more of a sauce in it. Turns out it was just that stuff fried up and put inside the crêpe. I’m used to crepes oozing out some kind of juice when you break them open. I was a little disappointed. Maybe next time I’ll try one of their various burgers.

I Love Love the fries and mussels. However, there has been more Han one occasion where the afternoon staff on the weekend have either had an attitude or have been extremely hungover where they were having trouble interacting. I have had a guy taking our order roll his eyes because we changed our mind on the sauce we want. There are like 20 sauces to choose. It’s not that hard to fake nice or be patient when your job is to serve customers. Love this place for brunch. Not down with the horrible staff.

It’s an unclean space, but the window seat is good for people watching when it’s clean. The fries are good and they have a big dip selection but it’s nothing special.

Great location and The food was amazing. My boyfriend and I went for dinner on Saturday night. Food came fast and was delicious! I ordered a steak which was pricey but I figured since it’s a steak, only thing is that it was a small portion. My boyfriend ordered a burger almost $ 2 less than the steak I ordered but it doesn’t come with fries even for that price. I ordered a chocolate milkshake and they forgot the order. It came after we finished the food. But, very nice employees all in all and they even gave us the remote so we could change the back tv to watch the football game!

Okay, Frites, I’ve finally had a full meal here to warrant a review. The atmosphere, service, and fries are 5-star worthy, without a doubt. My friend and I timed it perfectly, and were able to sit at the front, elevated table/shrine by the window. Eating brunch with your shoes off in a sea of oversized pillows was everything, and I recommend this to anyone who wants to feel royal while stuffing your face with eggs and fries. The omelette itself was B-. A little too spinachy, which took away from the flavor trip of goat cheese and kalamata olives. The side salad, which, to be honest, I hardly had expectations for anyways, was overly dressed in a raspberry balsamic. The breakfast potatoes were delicious, as always, and we left with some to munch on later. The perfect post-yoga spot to indulge without the business of so many brunch spots in the Mission.

OMG! SO sweet! Really tasty stuff :-) we had the hopper, which was fantastic, and the pot de crème is SUPER sweet and chocolaty. If you like chocolate, you can’t go wrong with it :-) Enjoy!

Waffles and Nutella… that’s all I really gotta say. I’ve been here several times for brunch(and that waffle/Nutella combo) and they haven’t let me down. Just the right combination of carbs and sweet cacao goodness that has my stomach feeling just right(and my mind wondering when I’m going to hit the gym next… but I digress). Anyways, this place is pretty great and not too expensive either. Great place to come as a group before starting a night on the town, or for brunch during the weekdays. Likes: –generous portions –reasonably priced –great for groups(or to chill solo) –close to public transportation(and centrally located right on Valencia street Dislikes: –the place can be a little unkempt(sometimes the tables aren’t cleaned off and the silverware doesn’t appear the cleanest)!

My friend lives nearby so I dropped in for some food to go. I grabbed a burger and fries, and while pricy it was delicious. This is not a fast food place, so don’t expect fast food prices nor quality. It’s good quality and you pay for it. Service is quick and kind and there is seating inside for small groups of like 2 – 5. Larger groups might have a problem finding seating. As for parking… it’s the mission so good luck! Try über or lyft :)

I’ve been to Frjtz a couple of times and really enjoyed my time there! It’s definitely a nice little spot to grab a delicious bite to eat. The first time I went, I got a basic crêpe – personally I don’t think you can really mess something like that up. I went with the Van Gogh Lemon and Sugar and for a simple sweet fix and also got a side of sweet potato frjtz fries which were a nice thick-cut fry, delicious with their bacon mayo. The next time I went, I got the Sukhothai Mussels which is Coconut milk, lemongrass, red curry – it was the perfect mix of spicy, creamy-sweet. It comes in a good sized bowl for one drowning in soupy goodness and a few slices of crostini. It was perfect for a craving, but I would’ve loved to see bigger mussels(they were so tiny!) and less«empty» shells. Otherwise, definitely a good choice recommended by the cashier himself. I shared the Nutella Pot de Crème with a friend, which was pretty thick and heavy but still rather tasty, as well as the Rogier Waffle, which was also very good. This place is a great casual spot to go with friends, perfect for Lunch, Dinner, or Later-evening fare. You go right to the register to order and pay and then can seat yourself anywhere, bringing a table number with you so they can bring the food out to you. Definitely recommend and I’m sure I’ll be back to try their burgers and breakfast options at some point :)

The ambient is ok. The food in general is really dry. The frech fries was ok also, But The bolsh salad was really plane and dry. I order two differents kind of Crepes(duchamp and miro) and both were awful.

We enjoy the van Gogh crepes here. They’re pretty good, cheap and the location is great. BUT, Fritz, please clean up your filthy restaurant, get new furniture and take down that wrinkly gross mural on the wall. It’s so scuzzy inside the restaurant it almost ruins the food. The bathroom is of course an even sadder case. REMODEL and DEEPCLEANING is desperately needed.

Ok I gave you three chances to fix it! I ordered a savory(cardboard) crêpe and it was dry as a hay stack I told the server and he offered me crème fresh(sour cream) and it was to late, my food was cold and dry! I told him to give me a sweet crêpe 45 mins later nothing came. The third time I said I can’t believe you didn’t do anything to make me feel better about wasting my money he just shook his head. I never like to write bad reviews but I gave them three times to redeem themselves and they chose not too! So the food sucked, the service suck and they made my last night in San Fran suck! Whatever

*go to the bottom for a summary* My boyfriend and I were walking up and down Valencia st. looking for a spot to eat that was appealing for both of us and also not overly priced. Now, we didn’t get to walk all the way through Valencia st. since we were getting hangry so we stopped and looked inside this place since the menu outside looked enticing enough for both of us. One of the workers noticed we were browsing so she handed us handheld menus to browse more in detail. APPEARANCE: The outside seating area was well kept when we finally sat down but at the end of our meal, we noticed that all 4 tables(ours included) was covered in plates. The inside wasn’t lit, probably because the sun was still kind of out but the inside just didn’t look as appealing as the photos on Unilocal made it seem. The feel of this whole restaurant wasn’t exactly comforting, not sure if it was because of the lack of lighting and it was gloomy outside or because I had a germ-y feeling about this place but meh, I can’t place my finger on it but I will definitely be back one day to try out their brunch specials. MENU: Now the menu is extensive and caters to carnivores and vegetarians. From their salads to their burgers and everything in between, this place definitely had a lot of choices that I ended up taking awhile to order. My boyfriend ordered their Venice burger($ 14.50) which included a 6oz burger, mushrooms and Swiss cheese. All their burgers start as a Frjtz Burger: patty, romaine lettuce, tomato, pickles and some sort of dressing underneath the top bun. From what I remember reading on their menu, all their burgers are grass fed burgers which is a total plus for me! SAUCE! My friends call me, «the sauce queen», and it’s definitely a title that truly fits me so with that being said… The sauce choices that came along with our large frjtz($ 5.50) order definitely blew my mind. We ended up settling for their strawberry mustard and ginger-orange mayo. Check out the pics that other Unilocalers have posted and you’ll definitely find the list of sauce choices. SERVICE: The person at the register wasn’t overly friendly and I felt like I had to rush to order which also caused me to lag on ordering on what I really wanted. But food came out pretty quickly and the man delivering our food was super sweet. I instantly had to dip my fries into our chosen sauces and after that first dip-n-bite, I knew I had to come back here. STRAWBERRYMUSTARD: Tangy but sweet. The strawberry pieces overcame the tangy. GINGER-ORANGEMAYO: WOW! Instant fave and I wish I had it on everything. Sweetness from the orange zest, the pungent distant taste of ginger made me forget that there was mayo in this sauce. This sauce was definitely a winner! BURGER: Once my boyfriends burger came out, I knew exactly what I wanted. His burger looked so deliciously juicy, my mouth was watering, I just couldn’t help but get myself a burger. I decided to do a simple Frjtz burger since I was already getting stuffed from the fries. When the burger arrived, it was cooked medium-well which typically isn’t my cup of tea but after my first bite, I was indulged. The patty was juicy but lacked flavor so I added both dipping sauces to give it a kick and it turned out a lot better. For their burgers, I would normally pass on high priced burgers but eh, I wouldn’t mind ordering it again. SUMMARY: — overall cleanliness: 6⁄10 — service: 6⁄10 — frjtz & burger: 8⁄10 — Frjtz burger starts at $ 10.50 — fries: small $ 4.50 includes one dipping sauce, large $ 5.50 includes 2 dipping sauces. — didn’t take long to get our food, probably within 5 minutes after we ordered we received our food. — parking: typical San Francisco street parking — recommend: Original Frjtz burger and their ginger-orange mayo dipping sauce. — would I come back? I’d definitely come back to try out their brunch specials.

Fries are very thick and potato-y. Also small. But the sauce was good. The crêpe with salmon came with very little inside it. The other crêpe I ordered was wrong, I ordered the Miro and some weird calamata olive /feta /tomato abomination came. But the crème de pot was good.

Not my favorite place but I would come back to try other choices. Pros: — outdoor seating — not too busy — fast service — delivery through all of SF(saw on their wall that’s awesome) — fries are delish(so are the sauces) — milkshakes are bomb Cons: — the NY burger didn’t taste fully delicious. It was like it was too charbroiled? The flavor a just didn’t taste great — the uxmal mussels were cooked great, the broth was just off tasting. Something in it just didn’t sit right. I wanted to really like this place but I just didn’t … It’s nice to be able to sit outside but the food was alright. I’d come back to try something else but if t falls short then again I don’t think I would come back after that.

Hmph! I’ve had this spot bookmarked for almost 2 years. Well that’s my fault for not coming by sooner. But anyway regardless, I have been itching to give this spot a try! French fries are my thing. My weakness. And when I found out that this spot sort of specialized in them and had an abundant amount of different sauces I was overly excited to eat here! We ordered the Duchamp(crêpe with mushrooms, spinach, and chicken) which was very dry and kind of flavorless. A Philly cheese steak sandwich which was not bad. And a large order of garlic fries. We also got to try four different sauces: eggplant mayo, white truffle artichoke ketchep, jalepeno ketchup, and lemon aoli. Overall the food was decent, definitely nothing to rave about. The sauces were in mini plastic containers like the ones you put your sauces in at a taqueria. This place just didn’t WOW me. Plus, the seating was very messy and dirty looking. The décor was neat but they needed to take better care of the restaurant. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this spot. I really wanted to like it…

Came here twice while visiting SF. Ambience: Artsy and trendy. They have limited amount of outdoor sitting. It was not packed neither of the times I went. Food: When we went there for breakfast we had the Erasmus waffle and the Guggenheim Brunch, both pretty delish. On another visit, we got the Hopper sweet crepes and boy, it was an orgasm in my mouth. Service: Order at the counter, and if you are staying in, they will bring your food to your table. Food came quick and staff was polite. Overall good experience, plus it helps it was two blocks away from where I was staying.

Frjtz reminds me of Pommes Frites in New York City, except not as good. My focus here is gonna be on the fries, because that’s really all I’ve ever gotten here. Pretty much their whole shmick is you just order a big thing of fries, and you can get a bunch of dipping sauces to go with it. Yep, they have more than just the usual ketchup here. They definitely have a wide variety of sauces to choose from. Most of them taste exactly as described. I’d suggest the white artichoke dip for something unique. Nice spot for a quick snack. Never been here for their other food so I’m not gonna judge them off that.

The fries here are delicious, but the rest lf their food is pretty mediocre. Started w/an order of large fries for me & my bf to share and then ordered the Louvre Omelette for my main dish. For the large fries, you get to choose 2 sauces amongst their many many options of sauces, which is pretty cool as there were some unique flavored ones. Unfortunately, I forgot which sauces that I got, but I enjoyed the red truffle. Our fries came out first,& they were crispy, hot & tasty. I was looking forward to the omelette which consisted of crab cakes, goat cheese, mango&chipotle remoulade w/a side of potato cakes, but sadly, very disappointing! The combos of the sweet mango, rich goat cheese, overpowering chipotle remoulade did not work at all, making it unenjoyable for me to eat. Also, they gave me a side of their homestyle potatoes rather than their potato fritters. I let it pass, but their homestyle potatoes tasted jst as bland&stale. Overall, delicious fries & def more of their specialty; however, I wouldn’t really go out of my way to come back here again.
