I think it’s encoded somewhere in my Chinese DNA to overlook poor service when the food or value is good. Throw in the fact that I expect little from airport restaurants* and it’s a pretty low bar that Fung Lum still manages to crawl under. Most of their entrees are greasy Westernized dishes and the only saving grace is their mediocre dim sum. That might be enough to give them 2 stars, but the price and rude service**(even by my standards!) nail them their 1 star. * and I’m often pleasantly surprised since many airport restaurants are pretty good nowadays! ** hey servers, some of us understand Cantonese too

It’s the worst Chinese noodle I have never had before! The soup was salty, and the noodle was too dry and tasteless, even worse than the meals on planes!

Quality Chinese food at a airport? No such thing? Not exactly. I have dined at Fung Lum many times and their quality is great. My favorite is the Won Ton Noodle Soup W/Roast Duck. They’re very generous with their portions.(usually 8 pieces of Roast Duck per order). The quality is very delicious and up to par to some of the restaurants in China Town. Can’t wait until my next United Airlines flight as I will certainly stop by Terminal 3 for Fung Lum

AVOIDTHISPLACE! I don’t usually write one star reviews. But, I had to for this establishment. Literally the WORST Chinese food I have ever eaten. I usually don’t have high expectations for airport food but this was just appalling. I could not believe how bland the food was. It literally did not have any flavor to it. It was the weirdest thing. And after paying $ 15 for my meal, I expected a little more. I would not eat here again if you paid me.

After my hour layover turned into a three hour layover I decided to get some lunch. I was pleasantly surprised by the noodle soup with bbq pork. Hawaii people and the rest of Asia called it char Sui. It’s expensive for a little bowl, but hey it’s in an airport. United air sucks by the way!

Is it fine Chinese dining? No… but it’s not bad… Chinese fast food style. Though I would say the menu is adjust to North American tastes… and some menu items seem to be a caricature of a Chinese fast food restaurant. I give the American consumer more credit and they would appreciate additional authentic items. When I’m missing a taste of home or don’t want a sandwich or Pizza… this is a good choice at an airport.

An oasis of deliciosity during a long day of travel. As far as this kind of fast food style Chinese food goes, this pretty damn good, for a few reasons. Number one, the food is actually good. The chow mein was a little on the dry bland side(knocked a star off for that) but the Mongolian beef was rad, and the pot stickers were amazifying! And they had hot oil for dipping. So much yum. Number two, while the prices are kind of high(to be expected in airport), they kind of make up for it by actually giving you the meat of your entrees. You know what I’m talking about. How many times have you asked for Mongolian beef and gotten a pile of onions and one slice of beef? Too many! Here they piled on the beef. Three, right place at the right time! If you are looking for the ultimate san francisco Chinese food experience. This isn’t it. If you are looking for good food while waiting for your flight, I say check it out.

OK this is an airport so I should expect sticker shock. $ 12.00 for a shrimp salad and $ 6.00 for a fruit salad. But what I didn’t expect was the fuzzy mold greeting me when I went to bite into a strawberry from the $ 6.00 fruit salad, and then seeing a fine carpet of mold everywhere. When I went back to the counter to return the fruit cup the cashier looks at me and says, ‘that will be six dollars’ when I explained to her I wasn’t buying it I was returning it because it was full of mold, she sighs in exasperation. I would have been mortified or embarrassed that I worked in an establishment that sold old spoiled food. What was even more disconcerting was that they did not removed the rest of the moldy fruit cups that were in the display case. Making a mental note that no matter how hungry I am I’ll starve before I eat here again.

— Very rude cashier working at the shift now. She was the one who does not speak Chinese. With no clear signs, there was only one cashier open. She took the customer behind me because they ordered through the already made food. I was ordering a noodle soup which needs to be made. When I pointed out they were behind me, she just told me to step aside and wait till all of the other customers who ordered already made food are taken care of. We are at an airport, everyone’s time is important. If this is a place that takes already made food customer as a higher priority than the ones who would like to order a dish, and still need to spend time to wait for a dish, the restaurant needs to take a deeper look into their priority. On top of that, the egg in my dish is so burnt, it is not even edible.

Call me crazy, but dumpling craving satisfied!!! Seriously! I saw the shrimp dumplings were in a bamboo basket being steamed and I just had to. Asians behind the counter and I’m in San Francisco, even if it is an airport. I had some kick bootie ramen and sushi in a Japanese airport, so I thought, maybe this would be the same. It so was. This was legit. They served it with packets of soy sauce AND sriracha! Hello! :) the dumplings set me back $ 6. Still worth it just because of my craving. The noodles were $ 4. Not over seasoned bit good quality noodles so I added a bit of soy sauce and sriracha, et voila! Better to under season than be too salty I say!!! Airport-Winnah!

One of my favorite places to get noodle soup! I actually show up to the airport early just so I can eat the wonton noodle soup and dim sum before a flight. I’ve never tried anything else there because I’m so pleased with my usual order. I was so bummed one night, I was flying a red-eye and they weren’t closing until 11:30pm, it was only around 10pm but they told me the kitchen was closed and that I could only chose from the food that was already out. I was only ordering noodle soup, usually doesn’t take much to put some broth in noodles. The staff is not very friendly, but hey I guess it’s an airport. But I will still always come back, just for that wonton noodle soup!

Apparently I should have checked the reviews out here before picking out a combo plate at Fung Lum(when will I learn?!). I wanted something small before boarding my red eye and this location looked like unique airport food. If you’re craving Chinese fast«food,» save your money and go to Panda Express when you get home. The cost here is close to double Panda Express(at least where I live) and the food there actually tastes better. One positive is that the chicken was very obviously all white meat(something you can’t really say about Panda Express). The other reviews seem to be more positive about the dim sum, so maybe that is worth a try…

I’m disappointed by this restaurant because isn’t the very best Chinese food in all of North America supposed to come from San Francisco? Then why am I treated with such generic fare here? Because this is an airport, that’s why. An airport suddenly gives everyone an excuse to forget about quality. This isn’t much different from what you would get at the countless Americanized Chinese restaurants across the country. At least they filled me up. Instead of tasting their dim sum, I tried their Panda Express-style buffet’s food. Three entrees total came to $ 12.00, which is a bit high but not absurdly so. If fried rice and oily meats/vegetables tossed together sounds good to you, then by all means go for it. I know it sounded appealing to me between my flights. Just remember that it’s very much a run-of-the-mill, not-necessarily-Chinese restaurant.

They give you free soda if you work in SFO. this place is expensive and they give you little portion off food and it’s not good no flavor what so ever need hot sauce to give your food flavor. Do not eat here

Not cheap, but the food tasted as it should and it is the airport. I’m also thankful it was open on Thanksgiving as half the restaurants were closed. it’s located in the mini food court next to the domestic terminal United Club. I had the wonton noodle soup, which was $ 10, and my wife had a pre-packaged Asian chicken salad for $ 11. like I said, definitely not cheap but everything seemed fresh enough and the service was friendly. glad to see this ethnic food addition to SFO and I would eat here again if in the mood for Cantonese/Chinese.

I was happy. Other than Vancouver airport, I’ve never seen dim sum as a lunch option Fung Lum is located in the main food court area of terminal 3. It offers hot ready cooked food, noodle bowls and the aforementioned dim sum Not cheap at $ 5.50 a plate, I still couldn’t help myself. I mean, siu mai and egg tarts are luxury food when flying. Yay

Where else can you get roast duck noodle soup at an airport(other than HK of course!)?! This totally hit the spot since I was madly craving some soupy noodles while waiting for our flight. You get a good amount of roast duck too so it’s worth the $ 12 price tag. Upgrade to udon noodle for $ 1 more. I know some people complain about the price, but overpriced airport food is pretty much expected. I’m just happy I can get quality Chinese food in an airport :)

I can only write my review based on what I’ve eaten — roast duck. I thought it was really good! The duck wasn’t too tough, too greasy, or too bony. Although it was a bit pricey($ 12) I was really craving it, so the meal satisfied my needs. Other places within the airport easily charge nearly $ 12 just for a bowl of soba or udon. The only disappointment(why I said A-OK) is that the side vegetable provided was American broccoli. Really? You’re a Chinese restaurant, and you can’t provide some sort of Asian vegetable? We have all kinds of flavorful vegetables that can be used. I would’ve even enjoyed some bok choy sautéed in garlic. Bok choy is actually cheaper in the grocery store vs American broccoli. Add an Asian vegetable, and I’ll raise the rating one more star!

The 3 stars are for the dim sum ONLY. I don’t usually eat meals here except for the Won Ton soup, too greasy and bland for my taste. But the Dim Sum is Ok for airport food, In particular I love the banana shrimp rolls, I’ve never seen them anywhere else. Yes, they are a little oily, but they taste so good. Their other dumplings, the pan friend dumplings, chive dumplings and steamed buns are passable and about as good as you can get dumpling-wise at the airport. If you are looking for pan fried dumplings, the Gyozo dumplings at the Japanese place in Terminal 2 are slightly better, but by airport standards only.
