This is a 3−½ star rating. Everything we ordered tasted wonderful. The Tomato Mozzarella pizza was perfectly done in a crispy dough. Cesar salad and the roasted beets were both delicious. The Rigatoni Pork Ragu consisted of homemade pasta tubes that were a tad too al dente, but the pork ragu was very tasty. I’m sure leftovers would be perfect given how al dente the pasta was. There was only one server during lunch, but kudos to her, as she moved from table to table. I took away a star because I was very disappointed that they didn’t have the Salad Lardo, especially since the menu was not that extensive.

Great soppresatta and sunny side egg pizza. Great selection of wine, nice ambiance and good service. Definitely a great choice for some late night bites and drinks

Nowhere is it listed in their door or on the Internet that they are CLOSED in Sunday’s! Even in Open Table it doesn’t tell you! Wasted a drive! But, will try during the week I guess at another time.

Not happy with this place. I recently ordered dinner from a menu i found online: When I went in to pick up my dinner and pay, I was charged $ 28.28 for their WILDCOHOSALMONONBOCCACINOPASTA, which is $ 16.00 on the dinner menu online. The bartender kept giving me excuses that I must have read it wrong, that the price I saw was off their lunch menu, and that they don’t even have a website online. He then went downstairs to talk to someone about it and ends up telling me I can take it or leave it. I was working late and really needed to eat so I ended up paying $ 28. To top it all off, the food was terrible! The salmon was completely soggy and placed under over cooked pasta and spinach. NEVERGOINGBACKANDNEVERRECOMMENDINGTHISPLACETOANYONE

Wow. This place has gone downhill. This used to be THE place to go for great food, drinks, ambiance. And a go to for the restaurant industry folks. Mac n cheese was under cooked and flavorless. Mussels had a foul flavor and the bread tasted like something you’d get from a Soviet bread line. Sad. Used to love this place.

Overall disappointment. If a restaurant has a total of 10 options on the menu I don’t think it’s a big deal to make sure they’re well-stocked of said options. Especially when the restaurant is EMPTY. We arrived at 10:30pm and they told us 2 of their options were sold out. Sucks because both of them sounded like something we’d order. This place was FREEZING. I understand it’s cold outside but seriously? The temperature inside doesn’t have to match the outside. We had the duck leg appetizer which isn’t even comfortable to eat as an appetizer because it’s still on the bone. How do you split that between your party? The burratta margherita pizza was alright and the only reason why I didn’t give this place one star. Service was whatever.

The perfect dish of spaghetti, great service and a delicious $ 5 glass of sauvignon blanc(still happy hour) at 6:30p … Going to Globe prior to events at The Battery has become a tradition for a bunch of us. Nice vibe.

Came across this gem while visiting SF… and we are very impressed. The food is fantastic– melt in your mouth tender! The real wood stove makes the pizza come out perfect & our server Thomas is attentive, thoughtful & prompt w drink refills & food orders. The staff & atmosphere, along w great food, made our time here superb! Wish we lived closer because we’d become regulars here if we could!

I love you globe! Don’t ever leave us!!! Hidden gem in SF! The bar menu and the good are so versatile! Had my girlfriends birthday here last season with about 8 people who had never been and they all loved it! Definitely worth a visit!

Come on guys. You have been great for so long but you are slipping. Staff sit on the phones and ignore the customers. Food was not bad but not the usual excellent

I’ve been here twice, in need of a, good, late-night restaurant without a long wait or reservation. It’s a quaint and lovely place with a very friendly staff. Their rib eye steak and braised lamb are very good; their wood burning stove gives the meat an awesome, smokey flavor. Their Salad Lardon is great and another favorite of mine on their menu . I wish they would warm their bread before bringing it out to the table(not a fan of cold bread). Not a fan of their macaroni and cheese(a bit too runny). I would definitely recommend they get more lighting or something that would draw more attention to the restaurant. At first glance you’d hardly notice it was even there!

Service at bar is excellent. Bartenders are welcoming, attentive and informed. Food has varied over the years. Used to be the chef and server hang out after hours. Now it’s mostly the local restaurants. Pizzas and salads are always good. The frisée is always a good starter as well as the oysters.

Dropped in for a quick drink at the bar when I noticed the neighboring bar was too crowded for my liking. Received great service and a well formulated gin & tonic. Will definitely go back for dinner when I’m in the neighborhood.

I Love this place — when I worked at Moose’s restaurant years and years ago — we would all go to the Globe for food late night. They are open until 1am Every Night. I can’t think of one better place that has the quality of food this place does that’s open past 11pm or any given evening — say on a Monday or Tuesday — I like the ambience. The thing is sometimes I walk in and the place is dead but then by the time I’m done the place is half full. Certainly packed most weekend evenings and other celebratory days but I know I can get in and get a beautifully cooked meal on any given night. I don’t think this is the best restaurant in town — some of these people that write reviews have one idea in mind. It’s a great place to go with a good to great wine list, good craft beers, well made cocktails — and delicious food. Most recently me and a buddy went in and were served by Tatiana the barkeep — she was knowledgeable, cool, and classy. I don’t know why — but she just seemed friendly and classy to me. We shared the mussels — yum, and then the Rocky Chicken — really outstanding tender chicken dish. Had a few glasses of wine — a Pinot Blanc from Alsace(I love all wines from Alsace — typically dry style wines with good acidity) and an Italian blend that included Nebbiola, Dolcetto, and Barbera. Talk about interesting wines and also a really nice Pinot Noir that didn’t cost too much. Also met a fascinating guy named Ben that works at Kokkari — just goes to show you never know how interesting people can be. He had this amazing background — and so did the barkeep. I’ve always met cool and fascinating people at this restaurant.

This place is mehhhh I ordered spaghetti and it was undercooked so we sent it back. Waited more… I felt like mine was still undercooked a little but rest of my table said it was ehh ok. So mmm But what do u expect at midnight. Service wasn’t very attentive. Chatting w other customers or friends. Whichever. I really do appreciate it being open late though. Will come back def expecting better spaghetti.

I have been going here for 10 years and while I appreciate the menu items, they just don’t seem to be getting the same love. Waiter jammed together my martini and the appetizer and so I am doing the lardon salad with vodka. Perhas that sent my mouth into revolt. Timing is everything they say and certainly no exception here. My bus boy was amazing. Took his job seriously and displayed such élan and efficiency. Made the experience more tolerable. Just okay

I was lucky enough to come here for a private party, so the place was shut down to the public. The wine provided was free-flowing but cocktails were on the guests. In the meantime, servers wandered around and brought appetizers for us. Yummy — I had a few cocktails so my memory’s a bit hazy, but I remember two different kinds of thin crust wood-fired type pizzas, chicken satay, and a bruscetta. The ambiance — at least for a private party — was perfect. Dim lights, beautiful service, lovely atmosphere.

I decided to eat dinner here with a friend on a whim; although located in the Financial District, this restaurant feels like it could use a bit more pizzazz. The décor, while certainly not bad, was a bit minimal and the entire place was very dim. The basement restrooms are also rather dingy and could use some sprucing up. The tables are also a bit cramped and close to each other. The food is fairly decent but there is definitely a premium due to the location. Many of the dishes we tried were also extremely salty, and weren’t particularly memorable or innovative. Our server was quite friendly and water service was attentive(thankfully so, since our meal was quite sodium-heavy). Globe isn’t a restaurant that I would actively want to return to again, but if you’re in the area and looking for something to eat it’s not a bad choice.

The homemade pasta was fantastic! The cocktail I had it with was pretty good. I wasn’t SUPER excited, but I wasn’t disappointed either. After a long day of shooting and learning curling, I was sore, tired and cold. I had lots of equipment with me, and I breathed so much easier with a bit of pasta in my belly. It might have also be facilitated by the tasty cocktail. I’d recommend Globe, but wouldn’t go out of my way to get there. P. s. — there were a LARGE number of the dim Edison bulbs. So don’t go there to read. I don’t know why you would, but just in cases.

After our last minute shopping at Union Square, we took a cab here. Decoration was not created to impress for sure, nor the spooky basement restrooms. We split the warm salad with two poached eggs(one on ea plate), thick cubed bacon/ham over greens, 2 thumbs up! I had the spaghetti, tomato sauce and basil, that was fantastic. I don’t eat lamb, but it was definitely enjoyed by P. Oh, and the Vin Rouge was tres bon. I probably will not return unless we are close to this place. They are open until 12midnight. Cheers!

When I was approached by 7Live to bring a group of Yapsie supporters into the studio to plug our weekend SoMa Pupcrawl, I immediately jumped on the opportunity! The event was in the afternoon so our group needed a place to grab a quick and yummy bite in the FiDi, and we chose Globe to satiate our taste buds. I ordered the mushroom pizza with truffle oil. The mushrooms were great, but knowing that truffle oil was created in a lab is a little disconcerting. It’s also not something that is an admired practice by legit chefs, but the pizza tasted pretty good anyway. I enjoyed the crispy crust too. The service at the Globe was outstanding and very friendly, and Brillo the service dog was welcome inside with no problems. There are a couple of dog-friendly tables outside for non-service dogs and great people watching too. Our party had an online coupon which was accepted happily. The food is definitely not cheap and my total pizza bill came out to nearly $ 20. When you add on an appetizer and a glass of wine, it definitely adds up!
