I could give the women who roll the burritos here five stars. If you don’t believe in good, fast and cheap; you are dead wrong. Some transplants lament the day when you could get a burrito at Gordo’s for less than $ 4. Boo hoo for them. Gordo’s is still an awesome deal. You really should leave a fat tip. When I had a deep fear of carbs and the very thought of rice gave me anxiety, they would make me an all meat burrito in a whole wheat tortilla. Let’s pretend I’m the lab rat from up the hill who could talk. I tell you this, cutting out carbs was like taking a pharmaceutical prescription off label. I don’t recommend it. Unless you’re an ectomorph, eat half of a burrito and give one to a hungry looking student. They love free food.

First time I went here I had a vegi burrito and was not impressed(very tasteless). The restaurant was closing in 20 minutes but they made it obvious that they wanted to close NOW. Second time I went to Gordo, there where a few people milling around and it was not clear as to where to place order, so went to the register, was told to go over to the counter then told I needed to «go back there and order» WTF? I walked out at that point. 0 customer service.

I rarely write reviews, but my terrible experience at Gordo Taqueria warrants one. I ordered a Super Beef Burrito. It was bland to say the least. Not much too it. Rice, beans, beef, tomatoes, and a slice of melted cheese. There is no flavor. The beef is chewy and not cooked well. The only positive thing to say about the burrito is that it is a healthy portion and it is cheap($ 6.35). If I was judging my experience based on the burrito alone, I would probably give it two stars. But the service was atrocious. After my burrito was prepared, I go to pay and the guy working the cash register tells me it’s $ 7.33(or something). He didn’t ask if I wanted a drink or chips or anything. I ask if I can please have chips and salsa, plus a water. He looks super annoyed because now he has to ring it up again. Whatever. He grabs me everything and I pay him. My burrito, chips, salsa, and drink are still on the table. I ask him if I can get a bag. He rolls his eyes, sighs, and tells me that it will be $ 0.10. What planet am I on? It’s only $ 0.10, that is not why I am complaining. It’s the fact that they charge for a brown paper bag and the attitude I was getting for simply asking for one. Having already paid, I declined and had to carry everything out. I don’t know if what I’ve written has done my experience any justice. I am sure people will read this and think I am complaining about nothing. But again, I felt obliged to write this review. Honestly, I almost asked for my money back, but I figured I would at lease give the food a try. I moved to SF last week and live two streets over. I will never go back.

If you want a bland burrito that will make you feel terrible after you eat it, come here! Also, the staff was probably the angriest group of people I’ve seen all week.

Ordered a Super Carnitas Burrito but got home and no sour cream. Just a regular burrito. That sucked a bit. The guac was good but really put in a really small container.

A good spot for taco’s and burritos. Service was fast but the cashier could have at least smiled or give off a more friendly vibe. I guess I wouldn’t be happy if I had to work on a gorgeous Sunday. The tacos are huge and loaded with ample meat. Its served with beans and salsa inside the taco. Seating can be tough when its busy but a solid spot for good Mexican food.

One of the more authentic Mexican restaurant in the Sunset area. I usually order a chile verde with pinto and sour cream. Pretty bomb restaurant, glad it is nearby. Pro Authentic Mexican food local inexpensive Con Size of burrito is inconsistent. line

YUM! A San Francisco treasure and still my favorite Taqueria in the city. So lucky to have a Gordos right next door. Perfect in all ways! Delicious, fresh and fast! I LOVE Gordos and so will you.

Came here after going to the Academy of Sciences and it was relatively full when we arrived. The«cashier» was completely rude from the moment we arrived, until the moment we left. Not only did he stand at the counter rudely shouting orders at people the entire time, his way at speaking with customer lacked professionalism. I understand you want to leave early, but we are paying customers and this behavior is inexcusable.

My go-to place for a boiled chicken burrito! And now they serve horchata. It’s about time. They also have a veggie tofu burrito for those who are interested…

Overrated, I’m disappointed. I took a burrito all meat. For less than $ 10, pretty good deal. One of the positive things is that they prepare it pretty fast. The meat is not that good(dry actually), for an all meat the burrito is pretty small, my favorite taqueria is Oaxaquena in Mission and you can feel a HUGE difference. I don’t like to compare but for a cheaper price you have a bigger burrito + chips and sauces, Gordo charges you $ 1.65 for that. Plus all the tables were dirty, I went there around 11:30AM I cannot understand that the tables are already filthy, yes at 11:30AM Concerning the staff: By the way, I speak spanish, so when you speak about other clients(not especially me) in spanish, that’s totally unrespectful, not correct at all. The staff operates without gloves, touching food and cleaning the place in the same time.

Gordo’s is my favorite Taqueria. Go ahead, tar and feather me. Now that that’s over, let me explain why. Yes, I love my super suiza from El Farolito and my tacos from Vallarta. But for some reason, the super burrito from Gordo’s is my go-to meal. As a San Francisco Native, I was born and raised on Gordo’s burritos. Maybe that’s why I feel such a connection with the place, but I’d like to think it’s more factual than sentimental. The meats I order in my super burrito are seasonal. Don’t ask me why, because I can’t really explain. Fall is steak, Winter is carnitas, Spring is grilled chicken, and Summer is whatever my hangover feels like on that given day. The combo of Guac, Sour Cream, Tomatoes, and Hot Sauce is what dreams are made of. If you’re bold, please get jalapeños as well. I only come to the 9th and Irving location because they have the best service. My burrito is always rolled with extra love, and extra foil. People will always hate on Gordo’s, and I get it, but if you’re in the area or need a pick me up, please look no further. Bonus: Their fountain coke is CRACK. Best fountain coke in the city.

Pros: Fast, Generally good Cons: Customer service & Attitude! We(Those who live in the Richmond & Sunset Districts), are faced with very low-tier quality taqueria options. Gordo is one of those options! You need to really be vigilant if you eat here. They will skimp, charge you more or do whatever it takes to maximize their profit. Go for the«All Meat» burrito and make sure they do not screw you over. It can be a task but keep focused and speak up. Common deception is they will pour on liquid but not the actual meat. That happened couple times. Surprised they don’t notice me or maybe they just don’t care.

Ingredients/prices are okay and I haven’t experienced mean service, but why don’t these guys take more care in wrapping burritos? A lot of the time they don’t wrap the tortilla properly and ingredients are falling out and they don’t even do anything to fix this. It makes me crazy. I avoid going here even though it’s convenient, because I know the burrito will fall apart while I eat it. I also would never eat here because the seats are very uncomfortable but maybe that’s just me.

I ordered the all meat super burrito. For a super burrito, it was small. At least, the burrito that I got. What made me rate this place one star was because of the contents of the burrito. The meat inside was very dry and was not worth my money. I tried liking it by taking a couple of more bites, but I just couldn’t take it. The meat was also hard to swallow. That’s how dry it was. I wouldn’t come back here again…

I came here once before my Unilocal years, so I’m glad I got to officially try Gordo Taqueria more recently and write the review that it deserves. I was at trivia night around the block at Blackthorn and hadn’t eaten yet. Gordo seemed like the right choice for late night dinner… Mexican food pairs well with beer and trivia. I ordered the carnitas plate and OMG I cannot get over how good the carnitas is! Best carnitas I’ve had in the Bay Area, I would say. The plate is piled high with food, and they stuff their burritos to the max. The guys who work here have way too much fun, but the menu is straightforward, there is plenty of seating, and I love the experience overall. I’m prepared to begin craving this specific place soon!

We’ve been going here since we were kids. It’s still reasonably priced and still has the same taste. We love it for its consistency and the same guys that been working there for over 15 years.

This place sucks and the staff is rude as hell. The food is okay but nothing amazing. We only came here because it was the only place close by for Mexican. If I knew that the staff was going to be so rude I would of just went down to the mission district. The whole staff was rude and mean to every single person that walked into the restaurant. To top it off when I was waiting to take my order the cashier was talking shit about the customers in Spanish not knowing that I understand every single word they were saying. When they where taking my order the guy with the ponytail was being rude and didn’t give two shits about my order. ***** do not eat here this place isn’t worth it at all. You want good food and a good staff eat somewhere else that’s far far away from this place.****** Ps. I’m sad to write all this and talk this way about other Latinos but these ASSHOLES give Latinos a bad name.

Just hit up this new spot. It’s cool. They do a burrito justice. It’s funny though that they assume you don’t know spanish when you look a different way. It’s cool though, I guess. The burrito I ordered was on point. They would have gotten 5 if they had 2 things. 1) chips to accompany my burrito, FORREALZ! Where the neck are my chips folks. Secondly, the parking is not convenient. If there was at least a lot somewhere. Give and take. Overall, good. I especially enjoy the jalapenos. Bomb diggity all day. la comida es deliciosa. no ser un extraño y llegar hasta aquí. Voy a visitar el baño después.
