$ 8 for my buffet-style choices. 3.5 stars really — the place unfortunately turned me off as it was old + muggy, but it’s quick with healthy options at a good price. Lots of room to be healthy here: — Protein: grilled chicken breast, turkey breast, fish, etc. — Veggies: roasted vegetables, variety of raw mixed greens, pre-marinated kale salad, etc. — Bread/carbs: foccacia and plain white baguette, both very fresh. Roasted potatoes too mushy for me. Tips: — Get take out. Eating outside smelled like shoe shine from the shoe place downstairs.

Green Bar serves a very specific purpose in my mind: convenience. I can walk into green bar and have my food in hand 2 minutes later, ready to check out at the register. It’s a buffet, so the food isn’t always the greatest, but there are a lot of options to choose from. It’s nice to be able to choose from hot or cold food, and to have it so quickly. I’ve never actually stayed to eat at Green Bar, and I don’t have much of a desire to do so. It’s kind of cafeteria-style seating, and during lunch hour the place seems a bit hectic. But the prices are reasonable, and it’s super convenient.

This place is reliable as it gets! For a good price too! I like the daily variety on the hot plate side, and if you need a sandwich instead those are made fresh right in front of you too!

Best value grab and go lunch in the city. Great«by the pound» salad bar and hot dishes that goes to 50% off after 2pm. Fresh, tasty, good value, good selection, friendly staff. Can’t go wrong.

Next Door to my work… is The Green Bar at 3 Embarcadero Ct., SF. Under $ 10.00 you can get a good lunch meal… nice selections of salads, pasta, fish and chicken [no fried]. Bön appetit !!!

3 out of 5 items were colder than room temperature(2 of them were fish btw), unacceptable for $ 9.50. Potatoes were not cooked enough. Bad first impression. Compared to other buffets like Chez Fayala this place is below average. Also, the atmosphere feels like some chain hotel in the midwest or a retirement home. Not going back.

It all depends on what you are going to get there. I got bagel with lox and it was good. Salmon was fresh. Recommend this place for breakfast.

In regards to the catering: The consistency in food and delivery is a 5 star. Once the food gets to the office, everyone loves it. It’s fresh and flavorful. We get the small pan of lasagna and 10 orders of salad. There are always leftovers, simply because it is a lot of food! The price is VERY reasonable. In regards to ordering: 4 Stars. It’s not very professional. It gets the job done, don’t get me wrong. But when I am ordering lunch for a company it doesn’t look so great having hand written invoices. There is no confirmation email, or follow up. It honestly feels like they could«forget» about your order or mistakes will inevitably occur. I was charged a $ 10 delivery fee when I was told orders over $ 100 were free delivery. I addressed this to Rhonda and she quickly responded, apologized, and let me know it would be taken care of. I appreciate that. In regards to accounting: 2 stars. My first time ordering, it took me 4 days to be charged for the order. Not too big a deal. I had asked for a better receipt(other than the handwritten invoice that I had to ask for). The accounting side of the company was cc’d on the email asking for me to get a copy. Never came. My second time ordering, 8 days after the delivery… no charge, no receipt. So I send an email requesting a copy of the receipt. I am told that the gentleman in charge of accounting would handle it now. 2 days later… nada. So I email them AGAIN, telling them 10 days is a bit much. Got my receipt. That is enough to make me hesitant to order from them, at least not on a weekly basis.

Nice buffet-style lunch spot in the Embarcadero. Now that I’ve been working in this area for over a year I’ve definitely been getting sick of some of my normal lunch options. Green Bar is great because I can get a little of everything /something different every time. The selections are pretty standard — veggies, fruits, meats, pastas, and some hot food options. It’s pretty comprehensive overall and I can usually find something that will hit the spot. My total usually comes out to roughly $ 8(since I eat lunch early, like a lot of FiDi). Maybe I’ll try swinging by after 2pm sometime for an afternoon half-price snack :)

Now that I’m back in the hood, I am back to going to Green Bar(and hopefully losing those pesky extra 5 lbs that follow me around). Muchhh better salad bar than Lee’s. All super healthy, delicious choices. Amazing grilled chicken to add to your salad selection. and I love that I can have just a small taste of whatever looks amazing in the hot food selection to curb my carb craving(pasta, chicken marsala, mac and cheese). PS– my secret is to work out and go right at 2… 50% off!

Great selection and very well priced. Would have cost more at any other salad bar /buffet in the area. If it’s nice out walk towards the middle of embarcadero building and sit out on the passageway balcony plenty of outdoor seating nice outside place with lots of flowers. A small escape amongst the concrete biildings!

This salad and buffet bar is great to eat something on the go in FiDi. This place has saved me from making bad food decisions elsewhere when I have a limited lunch break. A great alternative for a quick meeting or to grab something relatively healthful. I’ve only eaten through the buffet line, but they do have an area to order sandwiches. Depending on your schedule, you can dine in or dash out as to go containers are at the start of the line. Fresh salads(generally), different beef, chicken, fish and pork options on most days from beef bourguignon to curry turkey, and fried fish filet, pastas, brussels sprouts, roasted potatoes, and rice. Price is reasonable, but can easily add up when it’s paying by the weight. The good news is that if you pay more than $ 10 in line you get a free soda or bottled water.

Had this place catered for lunch at work. We got the beef bourguignon, lasgna bolognese, eggplant parmigiano, roasted vegetables and garbanzo salad. Nothing was that good– I like the eggplant but it was soooo oily. I wouldn’t eat these items again, but would be willing to try the salad bar.

Green Bar is absolutely my go-to salad bar in the Embarcadero part of FiDi. Here are my top reasons for my loyalty: 1. The amazing arugula, cherry tomato, and watermelon salad 2. Price per pound is one of the cheapest in FiDi 3. The chefs are constantly bringing out fresh serving dishes during the busy lunch rush– the food is fresh 4. After 2 pm everything is 50% off. Warning: it’s usually slim pickin’ though 5. Truly healthy options are available 6. The line moves quickly and easily. I’ve never had to wait long for the cashier 7. They accept credit cards with no minimum charge 8. Green Bar has a make-to-order sandwich counter if you decide to go that route I’m a fan! No, really– I eat my lunch here at least twice a week!

Ive been here twice very recently because it’s convenient and has options for all types of eaters. Probably better to get a salad and a few hot food items — otherwise your box of food will suddenly be more expensive than you’d like. I think you get a free drink if you spend more than a certain amount as a sort of consolation prize for losing the buffet line game — so I guess there’s that. Its more of a 3.5 stars than 4.

Good: 1. Their wraps and chips are really good. It is a good choice if you are pretty hungry. I always get the tri-tip in green wrap. 2. The salad bar has a good amount of veggies and meat. After 2pm is 50% off which is a pretty good deal for a quick lunch. Not so good: 1. They always have the same things every day. So if you go there pretty often you will get tired of their food sooner or later.

Went after 2, total came out $ 5.62. Usually, price is $ 7.95/lb. Half off after 2p.m. Dimly lit place… There are tables where you can sit. If you don’t like the salad bar, you can have them whip something up. Nice selection of hot and cold foods. +Fettuccine Alfredo was good. +Salads were fresh. +Honey mustard dressing the bomb +Cole slaw, better than kfc. –Tuna tastes funny… –Any pasta was mediocre. There was one that was really good but I can’t remember the name!!! –Noodles… why is that here lol wasn’t bad but wasn’t good either –Potato salad was decent. May or may not get it again + grilled/fried fish yum! Will be returning another day I decide to starve myself until 2pm :)

Prices on par with other places in the Embarcadero Center. Spent ~$ 7.50 got me a good meal. Lots of fresh and healthy options which was much appreciated! The kale salad and the tofu/eggplant hot dish were the 2 standouts for me… if you like Chez Fayala, you’ll probably like this place too(except it’s more expensive here). Cool thing is you get a free canned soda/water if you spend over $ 10. Adding this to my lunch rotation in the FIDI!

If you are given to moments of indecision, if you are awash in a sea of mental exhaustion, if you sometimes don’t know where to turn for help… then I suggest you get the hell out of my way because I’m in a hurry and don’t really care if you can’t decide which piece of overcooked chicken you want to put on your big melamine tray. This is a buffet line, babe, not Gary Danko, and I need to get back for my 1PM meeting. Tick-tock. Green Bar took over the former Lightening Foods outlet on the second floor of Three Embarcadero Center and recycled the same concept — hot and cold food for the office drone with the indiscriminate palate and the bottomless appetite. Who doesn’t like a lot of choice?(photo: ) I don’t, well, at least when I need to get something down the gullet before a meeting. Unless I really think I am in some culinary paradise where everything is executed with the freshest ingredients and the most tantalizing of flavors. Green Bar isn’t really that place. But if you want a full smörgåsbord of pastas, warmed-over chicken parts and beef chunks and all sorts of salad fixings, the likes of which you probably haven’t seen since your last Carnival cruise, then this may be the place for you. It comes to $ 7.49 per pound but hopefully that price point will discourage you from piling it on with abandon(photo: ). No surprise that the place gets packed at the lunch hour and seating is fairly limited. The one bonus is a counter where you can order specialty salads and sandwiches to go. FOOD — 3 stars… there’s only so much a warming tray can do AMBIANCE — 2.5 stars… the cafeteria at San Quentin is probably more organized… certainly the inmates are more polite SERVICE — 3 stars… I think the cashier told me to have a nice day TOTAL — 3 stars… grazing time again
