Helen Diller Playground

Took girls from age 5 – 10 and it was great! Plenty of places to eat nearby.
The park is basically 2 sections: grass and playground. The huge grass field is filled with a wide spectrum of people, all of whom make SF very colorful! No kids hang out on that side of the park.
The only problem is that there’s tons of construction: the grass area around the playground was fenced off in a way that required us to walk a long way around, even though I parked on the corner. I’d like to return when the construction is finished.

Fun for kids of all ages but too many kids here throwing sand down the slide making it dangerous. Weather is usually nice in this part of town.

This was such a FUN playground! Yes I’m 30+. Yes I will go on slides.
Especially when the slide is a tall wavy one!
Even though the slide took off skin from my ankle as I ZOOMED down it, it was still fun nonetheless!
Apologies to the kids that we kinda, maybe, sorta cut in front of.
There’s also another giant slide, rock climbing, net climbing, swings, ropes, and all are on the rubber material ground.
Bring a picnic, sunblock, and bring out your inner child here! :) Also, walking distance to Bi-​Rite Creamery is a PLUS.

What a great playground. Slides are awesome and are the old metal ones that I don’t see anymore, but remember fondly as a child. Get a piece of parchment paper or wax paper and those babies are butt launchers, prepare to fly.
We were here in the middle of the day and probably one of the best weather days in SF I have ever seen. Sunny and warm, not a cloud in the sky. What a perfect day to chill out and hang with family. Feeling Blessed.
*AS A SIDE NOTE —
I do say this place is not the strict parents playground. It really rides that line of people really out of their way to be «Nice» parents. Make sure you are the very over the top communicating parent, because you might feel out of place.
Example kid could be the kind that grabs, slaps, throws sand on everything and everyone, and over the top just rowdy kid and the parents will still be talking it out. So funny.
I don’t know about other parents, but there is a time when your kid needs to be reminded with more than just saying, «Sweetie we are gonna go home if you don’t start acting properly» And if you don’t go home on the 2^nd time you say it, well they know you aren’t gonna do it.
Other example, was this really great mom, who came super prepared with toys and bubbles and my baby doll not wanting to share the sand toys. And the mom was a great communicator and diverter of attention. So can go either but overall parents are talkers. This ain’t no ghetto park.
Other funny thing is about 50 feet away on the grass they smoking grass. maybe that’s why they discusses so much

Our boy loves this place. The slides are fun and it’s the perfect spot for a sunny day. It’s very busy. We like to go in the early morning before it gets busy.

Massive new playground. I am normally not a very worried parent but I have seen quite a few accidents there that could be avoided if the place was designed in less of a «fall from high places head first unto concrete» kind of way.

I thought this was a super fun playground for my 12 year old and 2year old. There are variety of areas for different age groups. There are some glorious views from just about everywhere in the park. Next time I plan on bringing a picnic. The only reason I didn’t give five stars was the older kids that were unsupervised big kids taking over the play structures in the toddler area.

This is one of the newest playgrounds in the city.
The old playground was good, but the equipment was definitely questionable and needed a make-​over.
Ever since they made the investment with the improvements, this place has been a hot spot (tons of kids now flocking to this playground).
Centrally located in Dolores Park has it’s benefits and disadvantages.
The benefits are obviously the view and the weather.
The disadvantages range from the above average drug use causing an overwhelming aroma, an increase in the homeless population and sometimes questionable characters exhibiting behaviors which might be inappropriate for children.
Some of the things this playground has which makes it unique/​distinct are a rock-​climbing wall, very large swings and a wide variety of slide.

This place was recently redone, and it is pretty cool. I love how the ground is rubberized and they have a small mix of climbing, slides, swings and other structures… my son and niece had a ton of fun there.

BEST of the BEST playgrounds in bay area!
The location is ideal, surrounded by best food spots and gorgeous view from the park.
I love coming here with my daughter, as this playground is the biggest in the city and has so many fun and FREE attractions. Slides there have enormous size and even adult will have fun sliding down. They have different sizes of slides for all ages.
They have so many more things. Wonderful sand box, all types of swings and even climbing walls. They have huge xylophon and your kids can learn play it right there!
I always bring some snacks and sandwiches and while my kid is enjoying the playground, you can enjoy wonderful view from Dolores Park and lay on grass!
Not to mention they have bi-​rite ice-​cream right next to the park and nice day at the park could end with the best ice cream in the city!

This is the most amazing park! I love that the weather here is always several degrees warmer than the rest of the City. While parking is a bit of a challenge since we are not lucky enough to be in walking distance of this Mecca for Kiddos, it is worth the trek! The remodeling they did for the kids park is INSANE! My lil guy loves the insane slides, the bongo drums, the rubber flooring hills to climb up. It’s amazing that it is a free park for all to enjoy and wear out the kiddos. I must say I love it too and am so happy I get to play here too :)

BEST PLAYGROUND EVER! (This is coming from… um…not a little kid.)
There are swings big enough for non-​kiddies to ride, and you get the best view of the city when you’re up in the air. There are also pretty long slides, and lots of things to climb, like a steep incline to get to one of the slides, a rock wall, ropes, and other structures.
I, a non-​kiddie, had a blast at this playground. Imagine if a real kiddie came here — actually, no need to imagine — there are many kids who come here, and it is most definitely a playground wonderland good for kids and non-​kids alike.
