4.5STARS After happy hour /dinner nearby, my girlfriend and I wanted to keep the drinks flowing. After Unilocaling bars in the area, I found Horseshoe Tavern. We stopped by on Tuesday, June 21st around 8:15pm. What drew us to Horseshoe? Why, their Unilocal check in special of 100% off our first drink! It applies to all their well liquor, so we ended up getting two shots of Jim beam. I had originally asked if Jameson qualified, but sadly, it didn’t. The roommate is a pickier drinker than I, so he paid for a Glenfiddich 12. We, of course, tipped on all three drinks. Fun bar. Remember to take advantage of their Unilocal check in deal!

Great bartenders, laid back almost divey scene. Pool tables, music, and all the live games played.

Great dive bar in the city. Location is excellent amongst lots of restaurants. Full bar, really chill down to earth bartenders. Seems like they make make just about any drinks. They also have a SICK Unilocal!check in offer — first drink free! Two pool tables Bathrooms are clean enough One golf arcade game Some really cool old school san francisco photos on the wall Crowd is a big mix! Some bikers, so hipsters, some brunchers, and a couple east bayers(us).

I walked in and ordered a drink, the bartender said they don’t take debit cards and to go across the street where I can use the atm. I did use the atm, came back to finish my order. the guy standing in the front said I wasn’t allowed inside. I couldn’t understand why they treated me that way. My only conclusion is that the staff didn’t like the t shirt I was wearing that night. Another bar had a similar reaction, Rude!

Great service and cheap drinks! Great sports bar-dive in the Marina. Pool tables are a plus. Our first time here and it seems like this place attracts an eclectic crowd…

Great staff and a fun place to catch a game with friends. Parking in the Marina is always a crapshoot, but Wells Fargo across the street has paid parking if you have sucky parking karma like I do. The Marina crowd is generally friendly and fun.

Went here for to celebrate the New Year which we did until about 12:50AM when my party and I were ask to leave by the bouncer for absolutely no reason at all and refused to tell us why. We were having drinks, behaved minding our own business. It’s probably because 2 of the members in my party were the only black people in the bar which most likely explains it. So I asked for my card back to close out my tab and the bartender had the nerve to circle the tip amount she recommended just after asking us to leave. We left a nice little message on how we felt about her and the establishment on the receipt along with a big fat tip of 0. There are plenty of way better bars in the Richmond anyway. Don’t waste your time here.

Great local dive in the Marina. I’m not super keen on the Marina bar scene but this is a great spot I frequent it for cheap drinks, pool, good laid back vibes. I also love the Unilocal check-in they offer(as of the writing of this) 100% off your first drink of ANY drink with check-in. Dope! Also, the Bartenders are awesome.

I came here with my lady. Gary the bar tender is fantastic. I saw a guy come in that was completely in tears and he ordered a shot of jäger and Gary the bartender covered it for him. Way to help a guy up when he is down Gary! 5 stars all the way!!!

This was our first stop on our one night bar hopping San Francisco adventure and I have to say, I wish we would have stayed here. The place had a friendly vibe(except for one guy who was a bit too drunk) and the bartenders were really cool. The best part was we got a free beer with our Unilocal check in, definitely can’t go wrong with that. Overall I liked the dive bar feel to this place and I would recommend it to anyone staying close.

Coming here after the Giants game on a Monday night, we were just looking for a night cap and Horseshoe Tavern was the place to do this. It’s a laid back bar where you can just belly up and enjoy some brews. The bar was about half full for most of the night with most patrons seeming to be locals. There’s about 15 beers on tap with two pool tables and digital jukebox for your enjoyment. Pray that a lightning bolt doesn’t strike while you’re in the bathroom though, because you’ll be standing in a pool of water. Corey was the bartender and he took care of us all the way until last call. We appreciate that he was hanging with some of the regulars at the other end of the bar, but still had time to intermittently check on us and even talk some sports. With reasonably priced drinks, good service, and a relaxed atmosphere, Horseshoe Tavern is a great place to unwind and tip a few back.

Horseshoe is a fun local spot if you’re looking for a dive-y bar. I felt like it deserved an extra star given the location – I like the Marina but it does lack casual hangout places. Location is good so it does get crowded sometimes, but not nearly as bad as the other watering holes in the neighborhood. The last time I was here(Saturday evening before dinner), Tacolicious across the street was already a madhouse but my friend and I were able to grab seats at the bar at Horseshoe. There are TVs at the bar and pool tables in the back. Bathrooms are gross, no surprise. Drink options are pretty standard and prices are reasonable. Unilocal tip: Check in and you get a free draft/well drink :)

This is to Mr. Papshmir. You put down a guy’s intelligence b/c you wanted to bring a baby into a bar. Are you that stupid? Your picture does you justice b/c you’re a clown. Don’t ever come in there again. You’re not welcome. I hate clowns… clown. This is exactly why giving idiots opinions on Unilocal is a joke. Be a man, say who you are. Don’t ever put down the doorman again for doing his job.

A great bar to relax after a long day. Conveniently located, with an authentic sports bar vibe — this is the bar for all budgets! The drinks are not diluted, making this a good value for money hang out!

NBA Finals Game 6! What a great day! I was looking for a spot to just hang out and watch the third quarter by myself while waiting for the bf to finish signing some contracts with his customer. I normally am not a fan of the Marina crowd, but the free drink offer for checking in on Unilocal drew me into this humble bar. Huge flatscreens everywhere and several good beers on tap were all I needed and Horseshoe delivered. It was pretty crowded so I didn’t want to bother the bartender with the free drink. He was a nice guy and spotted my 5’5″ self behind some 6 ft. tall Marina dudes. $ 7 for a Sierra Nevada. Can’t say I’ll be back anytime soon, but Horseshoe definitely left me with a positive impression. :)

Very homey dive bar; no frills. Not one of those pretentious/trendy bars you’d expect to find in the Marina. Very convenient when you want to grab pre or post dinner drinks after dinner on Chestnut Street. The pool tables were closed off the last time I went. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking for a conversational setting. They blast music really loud, making it hard to hear anyone.

The horseshoe is a great little dive in the marina. Cold beer, friendly staff, pool tables, TV, and lively patrons makes for a great time! Check in on Unilocal for you first drink free, can’t really beat that now can you! This is not the typical Marina atmosphere which is refreshing!

Great dive bar. The bartender was friendly. Had a few conversations with my wife and I. His name was Cory. Nice guy. They stayed open and let us relax when all the other places were either closing early for no reason or ignored us while standing at their empty bar East Side West!!! Jukebox had everything I searched for. Which doesn’t ever happen. If ever back in town I would definitely stop by.

Nothing really notable, it’s very small. It looked like a place for regulars, the bartender was really friendly and seemed to know all of the other customers. The other customers were mainly men, all jolly and drinking beer. Chill place, there’s pool in the back. Not what I’d heard about the marina it feels very homey, not trendy.

How does a free drink sound? CHECKINANDGETYOURFIRSTFREEDRINK! I stumbled across this place as I was waiting for my name to be called on a waitlist at Tacolicious. What better way to sit around and wait than to sit around and drink? The bartenders are very friendly and attentive. The place is a bit small, so there may be some squeezing in to do, but other than that, this place is great for a quick drink!

This place is a dump. Don’t come here if you genuinely want a 5 star bar. Go to Bourbon and Branch if that’s what you’re interested in. If you’re looking for a divey place to catch a game or a new fling, this is the place. Or dinner — BYOF. Just please, please don’t complain about this place. It’s not for you if you’re a whiner.

This place was AWFUL. I brought a friend in with me from out of town into this bar and received deplorable service. The older grumpy bartender Gary should be fired and arrested for his treatment of this bars patrons. The bar was crowded. We walked up to the bar and ordered two drinks. Gary went on to get a few orders from a few others at the bar. No big deal. We stayed at the bar and sat down about three bar stools away from where we placed our drink order. Gary the bartender the walks over to us slamming our drinks down spilling them on us SCREAMING, YELLINGANDCURSING at the top of his lungs that«we better FUCKINGLEARNHOWTOSTAYINTHEPLACEWHEREWEORDEDOURFUCKINGDRINKS»! We were speechless, I attempted to apologize to him for the confusion of us siting down three bar stools from where we were originally standing when we ordered the drink. This seemed to aggravate him more. His temper became even more violent and elevated. SCREAMING, YELLINGANDCURSING at the top of his lungs to «GETTHEFUCKOUT». Who talks to anyone like this, much less two women who were nice and apologetic? I left shaking and very upset. I had spent the day at the beach with my best friend. We went there to have a drink and relax. To have to deal with a person this abusive was insane. He should be fired and arrested. — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — - **UPDATE** I was incorrect about the bartenders name. It was not Corey, it was Gary. An older man with a ponytail. Also, I wanted to make note that the owner Stephen, took the situation seriously. Not only did he apologize to me via email, he took the extra step of calling me to find out the particlur details of the incident and assured me that he would be addressing it. — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — Update two– I received an email from Gary, the bartender whom my friend and I experienced the incident with. He emailed me to apologize. I was very touched.
