iHeartMacs is very consumer-​oriented and quite willing to help the non-​techy improve their understanding of the problem and the solutions. This is very unusual and I greatly appreciated their assistance.

Brooke is one of those rare finds: he’s brilliant, fast, incredibly knowledgeable and a genuinely lovely human being. He has been my go-​to Mac person for years, setting up and troubleshooting for me with my generations of iMac, MacBook, iPad, iPhone and related devices (back up drives, modems, routers, printers). While he is setting up or fixing my hardware or software, he always comes across ways to improve how my devices or programs run and does those tweaks along the way as well. The best part is that his fixes aren’t cookie-​cutter fixes — he really takes me into account: what works best for me, what will be easiest for me, what will be the most cost-​efficient, etc. Brooke is also able and willing to work remotely, so its possible to get help when you are on the road. I have referred Brooke to a number of friends who continue to be grateful to me for bringing him into their digital lives.

Brooke is a hidden treasure and I can’t say how many times he has rescued me with problems and got me back up running. He has solved issues in nothng flat that the «Genius Bar» at my Mac store was unsuccessful with. If you get a new Mac and need to transfer data he will save you countless hours of problems (and Brooke takes my new computers home with him to transfer overnight so he is «off the clock» and really saves money).
In addition to trouble shooting, he is a good natured, easy going, and patient coach with a huge knowledge of useful apps and coaching to get more out of my Mac. He has more than paid for himself just for showing me easy access to low cost or free downloads or cheaper alternatives to expensive programs.
Don’t be deterred by his San Francisco address and hours. Brooke travels to East Bay and Marin, and much of his help is done with screen sharing no matter where you live, and he works after hours and over the phone with patience and good nature to answer my stupid questions.

Brooke Johnson for Mac repairs and consulting is like finding that great car mechanic or doctor that you will plan to stay with forever.
We have had other so called Mac experts that ranged from terrible to just okay.
