Thank you for saving me over $ 100 compared to a shop near my home! Your super quick repair, friendly customer service, and wifi in the waiting area were all greatly appreciated, too.

Thursday night while preparing for a weekend trip to Tahoe the rear window of my car was smashed and some clothes stolen.
The next morning I drove to In & Out — I arrived at 8am. I was quoted quickly, and got a call at 10am that my car was ready for pickup.
I was able to make my weekend in Tahoe thanks to the quick and high quality service at In & Out!

1.5 hours, clean install, no visible broken glass left in my car. What more could I ask for?

My vehicle’s front window was bashed in overnight and I panicked. My insurance company hooked me up with In & Out (on a Saturday). I have never seen a place like this, full of people ready to help and/​or working on vehicles. Within an hour, the glass had been replaced. I barely had time to finish my lunch at a nearby restaurant! I highly recommend this business !

Got the back window of my Golf smashed by a thief. They had it in stock and fixed it within a few hours. $ 255 including everything, which seems very reasonable to me. Awesome job! I don’t hope for another smashed window, but if it happens I know where I’ll go.

We came early Sunday because our car was broken into late Saturday evening and us LA people couldn’t risk having an open window for the rest of our trip here. We waited an hour before it opened and watched as the cars started piling up at the entrance 10 minutes before it opened, all with broken windows and ready to cut in front of us like it’s nobody’s business – I was also ready to start some LA sh! t if that was the case.
Luckily, only 2 cars slipped in front of us before we got through – both of them having their cars broken into for the second time within weeks of the first. As karma had it, the store did not have the windows in stock of one of the cars, who had to dejectedly leave and look elsewhere – I do recommend calling ahead of time if possible to make sure they have your items in stock.
When it was our turn, it only took about an hour for my little baby to be cleaned up and ready to go. It literally looked like a brand new car (at least on that one window), and they were even nice enough to pile my thrown around leftover items (apparently not valuable enough to be stolen) in a kinda-​sorta nice way, which is better than how the robber left it.
The employees were all very nice and helpful, and actually looked willing to help instead of tired and annoyed on such an early day. I’m back in LA safe and sound, and my windows have never worked better – THANK YOU!

Very competitive pricing. I went here on Sunday after my car’s glass was broken into last Saturday night. I called a few places and this was the only place which was open and had the glass available that day. I dropped my car at around 1:40 on and was done by 2:40.they have a nice sitting area with tv and coffee. The installation seems to be good so far. Will update my review in some time. The glass is working fine as of now. There is a domino’s right across the street. The guys seemed very professional and quick.

Worst place to go to. I had my passenger window replaced. With in a few hours after I had left, my window wouldn’t open or close. I went back to get it fix and they supposedly fixed it, but failed to fix the problem. So I went to A-​1 glass and the guy was nice to fix the problem for free. I asked him how much he would have charged me if I was to get my passenger window replaced, his pricing is way cheaper then in & out.

There is no consistent in price, I did an online quote on their website, it estimated $ 201.50 for a windshield replacement. Then I called yesterday, got a quote of $ 295 from a representative, and I called again today, I was told it cost $ 380. How can the price of the same product varies by so much. I doubt they are honest in doing business. I will not go with them.
I cannot believe they got so many positive reviews.

On the morning of the Sunday Gay Pride Parade 2014, I discovered my right rear window (Subaru Outback) was smashed in. I needed to drive my friends and I back down to LA within about 4 hours. I called a few places for a last minute repair, but all were busy. I explained my situation and they said to come on in, that they would try to squeeze me in. When I arrived, I was helped very quickly. They had a nice waiting area with a couch and TV area, which I didn’t expect. I can’t remember how long the whole repair took, but I was very happy considering I didn’t have an appointment at a busy time. Everyone was nice, and they did a very good job of cleaning up the broken glass in my trunk. Hopefully I’ll never need to replace another car window, but I hope the service is as good as this place if I do.

Quick, cheap, efficient! Getting your window smashed is the worst, but they do a great job at making it painless. Just wish they served actual In-​N-​Out!

I’ve unfortunately had to come to In & Out twice this year, about 10 months apart, because my car was broken into in SF… twice.
Anyway, this is the place to go for broken windows. They do quick work, and their price is very reasonable.
I hope to not have to come again for a while, but if my window does break again… this is definitely where I would come to get it fixed.

Was on my way to the dump with my dad’s pickup truck with a lot of construction debris in the truck bed. Unfortunately one of the pieces of long wood in the back smashed into our rear window while we were backing up our truck. Called multiple places for a quote for a window and In & Out had the cheapest quote. I also called Master Car Care’s auto glass phone number and it was picked up by the same person saying they were affiliated with In & Out. I was given multiple options of glass for the truck with the OEM glass with the defroster wires or a aftermarket glass with a sliding window which was cheaper. Since it was an old truck, we decided to opt for the cheaper option with no defroster. The person on the phone said they can come to my house to replace the glass on the same day. The person can within hours install our glass. The worker was very quick and was very professional when it came to cleaning up the broken glass and installing the glass. Since it was about to rain, he also wrapped the gasket with tape in case it got wet. Overall satisfied with the service here. They also take credit cards, so there is no need to fumble with cash for their services.

Fantastic!!! I called at 3pm to see if they had our broken window (2007 Ford Escape Hybrid, rear, passenger side, tinted) in stock. Thankfully they did. Car was fixed by 6p. I was so relieved our car wouldn’t have to sit over night on the streets of San Francisco with a gaping window. Thank you!

I’m conflicted on this one. Andy was super nice and helpful, but it was a HUGE inconvenience to have to come back to get their original shoddy work fixed not once but twice, for a total of 3 visits. Also, the woman on the phone was exceptionally rude.
I’d give them 5 stars as I’d originally wanted to, and be a repeat customer, if they’d offered me a refund. As it stands, I’ll probably find a new glass place.

I’ve had really mixed results with this place. Got a windshield replaced, and it was fast and efficient.
Then, I had a passenger door window replaced. A few months later, the window just PLOP plopped out of the track and wouldn’t close correctly. So I’m stranded out in the middle of the day unable to park on the street because the window is basically half open.
I called about getting it re-​replaced, and the woman on the phone was extremely rude. I came in, and they took a very long time to «replace» it. What it appears they did was try to vacuum out some of the glass pieces they’d left behind — because when they returned it, brand new tiny glass pieces were all over the floor — and then glue the same window into it’s track. This took 2.5 hours!
«Don’t use it for 2 days, the glue has to set,» the guy said.
I didn’t use it for a week. Used it, and then closed the window, and heard a strange whooshing sound when I drove.
«Hmmm, that’s odd. Did I leave the moonroof open?» I thought.
Nope. Window was off the track again, after 1 use. I was LIVID. I’d now spent about 4.5 hours dealing with this, would have to put a plastic bag over the window because it was going to rain before I could get back there, and was going to have to take even more time off of work to deal with something that should’ve been 1) Done correctly the first time or at least 2) Replaced the second time.
I called back, and the man who answered was very very nice and helpful. He said he would order a new replacement window for me, and called me back when it was ready. I said I’d try to come in in the next couple of days.
It took longer than that, so I called to make sure the window was still there and not sold to someone else, and to see if I could make an appointment so it could take a shorter amount of time (not having to wait for people before me.)
Again, the woman was *incredibly* rude. I explained my situation, and that this would now be the THIRD time I was coming in to get this window fixed correctly.
She just barked at me: «If he says he has the window, he has the window. No appointments. Come in, wait in line with everybody else. Might take short, might take long, depends on how many people are in front of you. Just come in no appointments» and basically hung up on me.
I should’ve asked for a manager, but I hate the phone, and wasn’t really sure what would be accomplished, though I’d really like to get my $$$ back, considering all the work time I’ve lost…
Anyway, end result: They fixed it the 3^rd time with a new window. «This one comes with brackets,» he said. Wish they’d given me that one to begin with!
Hopefully it holds up!

Don’t use them for insurance repairs. Particularly if the windows are tinted, because they don’t do tinting.
My car got broken into and the two passenger side windows were broken. The normal window and a small, back window (it’s a 2 door coupe) that was tinted along with the matching window on the other side. It came from the dealer with those windows tinted.
Unfortunately I&O didn’t bother telling me until AFTER they installed it that they couldn’t find the window from the dealer with it tinted and I&O doesn’t do tinting. So now I have two mismatched windows and they’re not willing to do anything about it. Also the insurance won’t cover the tinting because the glass is already installed. It’s a total mess. (the window does come from the dealer tinted, but technically it’s for the prior year of the car. However it fits my year just fine… this is the type of thing I’d expect a glass repair shop to know)
Basically if there’s a problem you’re going to find out after they’ve done the work. If they’d told me they couldn’t restore the car to the original condition BEFORE they installed it, I would have gone somewhere else that could, and my insurance would’ve covered it.
Definitely will not be returning to this place.

Nothing quite says, «good morning» like finding your car window shattered as you’re about to go to work.
Times like this makes the Unilocal app a complete god send. Can you imagine life without Unilocal and GPS? I can’t. Remember back in the days when you had to fumble with MapQuest print outs? «Go Northwest on…» WTF – do I look like a compass? The only «northwest», I know is Kim K’s baby.
Anyhow, a quick search on my Unilocal app lead me to In & Out Auto Glass and their overall 5 star rating with over 400 reviews sold me. As we were waiting for AAA, I called In & Out Auto Glass and asked, if they had the particular window in stock for our car. And they did! Woot! If they didn’t, they would have had to call the dealership and it would have taken 1 – 2 days to fix.
A couple of caveats… I read a lot of reviews stating that the cost was about $ 130-​$ 150 out the door, and it took less than hour to replace their windows even though they were quoted several hours. I have poor sense of directions just like I have minimal knowledge of cars. Stating the obvious for many but the cost will vary depending on the make and model of your car. Out the door of cost was $ 330 for our BMW (make sure to check-​in on Unilocal for $ 10 off). They have a wide inventory of windows, and another customer told me they even had his window for his rare Porsche.
Apparently yesterday was «National Car Vandalism Day» because In & Out Auto Glass was already working on 8 cars when I arrived an hour after they opened. They had constant flow of customers coming in. I was quoted several hours and it took 2.5 hours.
They’re located in a very industrial part of Bayview-​Hunters Point. There’s lots of cars passing through so it’s relatively safe in the daytime. Nothing was worth walking around to so I plopped my ass on one of their plushy leather sofas and watched trashy daytime tv on one of their flat screen TVs in the waiting room (living room + kitchen). Nice to know that Maury is still doing paternity tests after all these years. There’s also a computer you can use and free wifi. My phone was dying and the owner, Ricky was nice enough to let me borrow his charger. Complimentary water and tea. The restrooms are huge and super clean with 2-​ply toilet paper. Not only do they want to make sure you’re comfy while waiting for your car but they care about your hiney too!
I met some interesting people in the waiting room and they’re all returning customers. I met a mechanical engineer who has 9 cars and he always brings his car here to get his window fixed. Another couple has their own file at the store because their car has been vandalized so many times along the Embarcadero. *sigh* But they both vowed this place was legit and have the best rates in the city.

The SOB who broke into our car, f*cked up the passenger side door paneling and power locks so it was stuck. Luckily, they were able to fix this this and save us $$$$.
Two tiny minor gripes: there was still some glass left in the several compartments including the glove compartment, and there was teardrop stain left on our leather seats (adhesive?). Otherwise, they did a great job!
I was livid yesterday morning when we found our car window was shattered but in retrospect, no one was injured which is what’s important (though if the SOB cut him/​herself while breaking into our car, he/​she deserved it) so life goes on.
Oh yah, In & Out Auto Glass is located right between BevMo and Burger King, AND there’s a market across the street that sells freshly fried carnitas by the pound. Nothing like a little curbside booze and pork fat to make things right. Not that I’m speaking from experience though…

A 5 star average rating with 400+ reviews is difficult for any business, let alone an auto body business. When I think of auto body shops, I think about shady mechanics fixing one problem and creating another in the process, all in order to get more business. However, this place removes that stigma, and demonstrates good workmanship.
My dad told me of a place on Bayshore, that which specialized in replacing auto glass quickly and at a cheap price. This was definitely what he was talking about. I had a chip in my front windshield, which quickly expanded to cover the entire glass. I went to their user-​friendly website and inputted the specifications (make, model, year, etc.) of my car. I was instantly given a quote with a $ 20 discount for doing it online. The total cost would be $ 188.xx pre-​tax. I really like that they offer these online quotes. It makes me trust them more, knowing that I would be paying a standard price and they cannot change it to something else once I get there.
That same day, I took my car to their shop at 4:30 pm. and asked them if they could replace my windshield that same day. I noticed that there were about twelve other vehicles being worked on in the work area. They said it would be no problem and that it would take one hour. One hour passes, and I receive a call saying that my vehicle is ready for pick up. Their punctuality really surprised me. More often than not, when a business tells me that something will be ready at a certain time, it is rarely true.
In & Out Auto Glass clearly exceeded my goals. I was expecting to fork out at least $ 600 for the windshield replacement. They charged me less than $ 200 for parts and labor. This place is ridiculous… in all the right ways.

My boyfriend and I came back to my place early Christmas morning (3am-​ish) and discovered his rear passenger window was smashed while we were at our xmas eve party with my family.
Unfortantely, we couldn’t get it fixed on Christmas, because everything was closed. But we needed a quick fix and somewhere preferably close to home. This was just two miles away and we got the first appointment that Friday morning, the day after xmas.
I called before 8am the day of and they fit me right in their schedule and even quoted me over the phone with a price lower than I expected! We were the first ones in the shop it only took about 1.5 hours to get it done.
I was already surprised that they answered their phones before the shop even opened but in person they were really friendly and provided fast and excellent service. Great place to get your windows fixed! They make things easy for you. On top of that I got the $ 10 off for checking into Unilocal
