I followed Emily Burgess here when she migrated from Fringe Salon. We’ve been together for nearly a decade and no one else gets to touch my hair with anything sharp. I have fine hair that’s incredibly unforgiving if a cut isn’t done perfectly and I kissed a few toads before finding Emily. I walk out looking fantastic and feeling relaxed (thanks to that amazing shampoo massage) and the cuts always grow out beautifully so I can go at least two months between cuts (which is kind of unheard of when you have short hair).
I routinely get stopped on the street and asked where I get my hair cut. I always recommend Emily without reservation.
I also love the space at Intava. It’s light and lovely and the high ceilings mean it’s relatively quiet even if all of the chairs are full.

I just had my second cut by Emily Burgess. She is very professional very helpful has wonderful suggestions. takes great pride in the work that she
rushing no sloppy service and she gives a great head massage while doing the shampoo. I think she said she had been cutting hair for more than 20 years and her professionalism and quality shows. I highly recommend her

This review is for me girl Emily Wheeler! Emily is the best at what she does when it comes to color. I have followed her from salon to salon and will continue to do so. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with color! We change it up, too, and she’s always spot on with giving me what I like.

I drove from Menlo Park to try this place out based on a recommendation. The hairdresser was unapologetically half an hour late and then rushed my cut giving me really uneven blocky layers. Leanna was nice but the cut wasn’t.

LeAnne has been my stylist for several years now. She is amazing on so many levels! I love my hair with her and she gives great consultations to give you exactly what you want. She also did my hair, my mothers, and my brides maids hair for my wedding last August and did a spectacular job! I will post pictures soon. She also did a beautiful formal up-​due for a recital I gave in may. She always does a great job and I can’t recommend her enough!

Teresa is absolutely a master in color. She also gives a fabulous haircut. She listens to what YOU want and gives suggestions on how it will actually work with your specific hair type and shape of your face. Her prices are also awesome. I would recommend her to anyone that wants a a great salon experience, you will not be disappointed! Absolutely 5 stars!

Sure, I’d probably follow Teresa to the moon for the magic she works on my hair and general self-​conception, but I do like Intava. The salon is airy and calm, all of the stylists hilarious, and the location perfect to grab a post-​cut brunch in Hayes Valley.
I haven’t tried any stylist save Teresa Rice but she’s amazing: she took an east coaster from a hair hating bob-​wearer to a hair loving pixie three and a half years ago and I’m not looking back. Teresa has killer short hair skills and concocts some amazing platinum blondes that have gained me a couple hundred undeserved compliments.

Always looking for a new place to get my hair «did» and through networking happened upon Intava Salon, and the stunningly talented stylist Nick.
This very large salon with modern décor is a hidden gem in Hayes Valley. Nick has great hands, which he used to full effect, so far twice, giving me a great head of hair. Not cheap ($ 90), but well worth the money. Happy to have found this place, and it’s fun, outgoing, friendly staff.

Leanne is wonderful! I have very curly hair and she can cut it, style it, and blow it out wonderfully!!! My boyfriend goes to her as well and loves her for men’s haircuts. You won’t be disappointed. She rocks! Easy to book online and great new modern salon space in Hayes Valley.

This salon is very modern and stylish inside. Leanne does unbelievably natural and modern highlights. I get compliments on my hair everywhere I go. Also, this girl must have the sharpest scissors in town because I swear my haircuts from her are always amazing. I am never, ever disappointed. She’s a blast too; very enjoyable to talk with while getting all fabulous :)

She always makes my hair look fantastic and on top of that, she is adorable. My very picky teenage daughter loves her as well!
