I am a client of Zarina, and I am the happiest I’ve been for all my 6 years in the USA. She is great! I used to go to a hair salon once a year, seriously, only when I was in Russia, visiting my family. Now I can take better care of my hair, because I finally found a specialist, who knows what she is doing, and who does it with ease, professionalism and for the good price! My hair is finally smooth, nicely layered (not chunky layered, like somebody was cutting it with a wire-​cutter) and it is not scary to see the haircut next day after shower — it simply looks great! Thank you Zarina!

This review is for Zarrina Radzivilovskaya. She have been doing my hair for the last few years. Everything that she does, highlights, hair coloring, haircut, styling or hairdo, is professional and wonderful job. She is very nice as a person and feel what you need. I definitely recommend her.

Kseniya is AMAZING! I hated haircuts before her but now I am loving my new layers and can’t wait to come back in two months. Oh and I don’t know what she does but hair grows so fast after her cuts… It’s magical.

I’ve been going to this place since I was 10 years old, even during the time when I lived in San Carlos I would commute to San Francisco just to get my haircut, obviously the super cuts in Belmont didn’t cut it for me. Tried different hair stylist several times and kept coming back. Learned my lesson the hard way and don’t intend on getting my haircut anywhere else no matter how Inconvenient or out of the way this place might be. Ilya does a fantastic job each and every time.

My mom and I have been coming to Ilya for 15 years (even though we moved an hour away from San Francisco about 12 years ago) and I’m shocked that his salon doesn’t have more amazing reviews. The fact that he is always completely booked for 6 weeks goes to show how devoted and numerous his clients are. Ilya’s haircuts are superb; every single time I leave the salon I get comments about how «Fabulous» my haircuts are. He cuts with such precision and keeps up with trends and new styles. I’ve been asking for «layers» every single time I see him and while I always leave with layers, my style has definitely changed with the times, thanks to Ilya.
While I’ve recently returned to my natural roots, I used to get my hair colored by Ilya in addition to cut, and the color was absolutely amazing. I honestly feel like a movie star every time I leave the salon.
Ilya is great with both long and short hair, and very innovative if you say that you want a new look.
My only complaint is that i wish his salon was closer to where we live now!

It would be a — if I could do it. Put it this way, I wasn’t even given the opportunity to get a hair cut. I have VERY curly hair so I always have to ask if somebody is good w/​my hair type. Most of the time people will say they all are which is usually not true but nice to know they’re confident about their skills. So, I walk in there asking if there was a particular stylist who did a good job with curly hair and they all look at me with a dear in the headlights look as I if I spoke some type of alien language. Then the only one who speaks is the Russian guy whom I assume is Ilya and is reviewed to be good with curly hair. He said something to which I could not understand due to his thick Russian accent. I just saw his head nodding no and then I picked up… Is it really curly? I was standing right there in front of him yet he could not see the obvious. I say… Yes, it’s VERY curly… He says, %#%@ %#@ #$%#$ (Russian accent I didn’t understand) Sorry, I don’t have experience with that type of hair… I say, OK and walk straight out the door telling them I would leave my review on Unilocal.So much for having experience «cutting and styling hair». I wonder if he’s the only one allowed to speak since it’s his salon. Maybe I’ll go back again some other time when he’s not there to see what happens.

I have tried tons of trendy overpriced places before I found this nook in the wall, hidden in the avenues. Ilya is simply the best hairstylist in SF! He is usually booked weeks in advance, so you need to plan ahead. The place is clean, but, as you can imagine, no fun to hang out in. The positive aspect — the prices are low! I do not color my hair, but was not impressed with Ilya’s coloring skills (as I have seen the results on other clients). Haircut is a different story. I can literally go once in 5 months and the style holds in between my appointments.
