Smoked turkey… Ordered this for thanksgiving and could not have been happier. Delicious and huge. Fed our guests and we have tons left over. Will definitely go this route again next year!

According to SF Weekly Jablow’s Meats has the best pastrami in SF. I agree! So I don’t always like pastrami. I often find it too salty, too peppery, or too dry. I really liked the pastrami sandwich from Jablow’s Meats. It was meaty and flavorful without being too salty. The cole slaw had just the right crunch and the pickle they served it with was delicious. We also had the Cuban pork sandwich. It was topped with a bit of fresh avocado spread and was totally delicious. The bread on both sandwiches was fresh. I’m totally craving those sandwiches right now. This is an excellent place for lunch. They serve lunch from 11am to 2pm weekdays on Market. I hear that they will be «popping up» on the weekends and I’m looking forward to trying this place again!

Excellent pastrami sandwich. Not too salty, well-peppered, good bread and slaw. Will eat again.

(See pics) Review #1174. Pop-up 4 stars. Good thing tried this place twice at the Window(part of the new Coffee Bar pop-up.) First time $ 9 for bacon wrapped sausage hot dog, while good taste, was price steep. The second time as I realized the pastrami sandwich was the popular item but as trying chef’s new items I decided to go with the lamb sandwich over the Cuban sandwich. The lamb was medium rare(more rare) and was lightly smoked. Pretty good taste and was a lot of lamb and on great Acme bread. The lamb could probably be slightly smoked a bit more. The sweet tomatoes and arugula were a nice complement.

OMG… last week’s egg and bacon sandwich with endive was just out of this world… it was served on a lovely bun and when I bit into it, the egg oozed out. I know this sounds naughty but it was absolutely delicious! A friend who went with me told me a few days later she woke up wanting one of those over-easy egg and bacon sangers. I don’t blame her. A few weeks earlier I had the pastrami and loved it and I definitely recommend you get up there soon. It’s just Saturdays from 11 – 2 so find a way. They also sell meats to take with and I have ordered take-home sandwiches too. I guess I getter stop now…

Dan & Ashley Jablow are obviously engaged in a labor of love – that love is cured and smoked meats. I checked them out at their pop-up in the Hare & Beast(1001 Guerrero) and ordered a pastrami sandwich. Good. Flat out good. These folks know from pastrami and I’m betting they know corned beef and bacon too. I can’t wait to get back and find out. You’d better hurry up and get to Jablow’s Meats because if I get there first, I plan to buy as much as I can. Oh, yeah, to all my vegan/vegetarian friends, it’s not too late to repent of your unrighteous ways and Jablow’s can show you exactly how.

Belly: Full. Mind: Happy. Jaws: Tired, but amped. Tongue: Tasty. Just had lunch at Beast and the Hare( ), where Jablow’s Meats is now doing a Saturday lunchtime«Pop-Up» resty. After eating BLT’s by them at New Taste Marketplace, I had a new spot on my favorite sando list.(not here on Unilocal, but a soft, bacon-y spot in my heart.) Today was my first chance to actually eat at the Pop Up, and I am so glad it happened. yummmm. I felt like a fat kid in a place where fat kids aren’t supposed to be, like a candy store, or a library full of books about things that make you fat, or something. I wanted everything on the menu!(This could have been easy to do if we had one more person with us, for alas, there are only three items to choose from…) We had their mainstay Pastrami on Rye, and Smoked Pork Loin with Apple and Fennel slaw.(I was seriously also considering the Corned Beef, served on Della Fattoria levain, but just couldn’t fit it in my stomach.) Both came with a spicy, yet comfortingly sweet«Kickin» pickle spear and some perfectly cubed potato salad. For me personally, the potato salad could use a little more seasoning or spice, which would have been cool to have some hot sauce or salt/pepper on the tables, but still it was really good and went well with the pickle and most importantly, the SANDWICHES! They use Acme Bread, spread delicious mustardy aioli and/or slaw, and that’s it! The meat really stands out and could be fine on it’s own with only the bread. That’s how good it is. Meat and Bread. Jablow’s can seriously do that. In addition to all this bready, smoky, meaty glory — - They have homemade Ginger Ale, mixed to order behind the bar. Such a great compliment to the plates. Perfect for the weather we had today.(Sunny and 70 degrees.) Smart addition to the menu. Once they start doing Pop-ups at night, their stuff would be good with a frosty craft beer… I am very excited they are doing this every Saturday, I hope it turns into more Pop-ups and meals around town so I can do it more often.(I won’t always be able to come on Saturdays) Welcome Jablow’s, to the world of San Francisco restaurants! Feed me mucho.

I like bacon as much as the next person. OK, I like bacon a lot, so when I spotted Jablow’s bacon and BLTs at New Taste Marketplace, I just HAD to try it. The bacon, OMG, it’s so freakin’ good! It’s rubbed with Chinese five-spice, smoked, and thick –cut. The BLT was ridiculous, and I NEVER thought I’d say that about a lowly BLT! I ended up eating an entire BLT(you can purchase half), and two packages of bacon. Run your butt over to the next New Taste Marketplace and get yourself some bacon to fry up later at home, and a BLT to eat on the spot.

Just had a B.L.T. from Jablow’s Meats at the New Taste Marketplace in San Francisco today. I eat meat selectively and thoroughly enjoy it when it is good. Jablow’s really nails it. The bacon on this B.L.T. was incredible. It was really smokey and full of flavor. The bread was really soft with a pleasing crust. The fixings were all fresh and made for the perfect sandwich. Also really fun to talk meats with Dan, the head honcho of Jablow’s Meats. You can tell he really has a passion for making quality meat. I noticed that he took the time to talk to customers about his craft and explain what he does and why he does it. I look forward to Jablow’s inevitable popularity. As long as I have access to the sandwiches, I’m happy as a clam. Looking forward to my lunch next week… a pastrami sandwich from Jablow’s Meats at the SF Underground Market.
