As soon as I sat down in the barber chair Katie asked me, «Oh, are you another techie?». Not exactly the best way to make your customer feel unique and appreciated. I replied, «Uhm, yeah. I moved here a year ago». She then went on about how the city has changed so much and the influx of new people are ruining it. She was really awkward and perhaps even bitter during the whole experience. I ended up paying an above average price for below average customer relations and a below average hair cut.

Got my hair colored by Czarina and a cut by Stefano. Both were wonderful and know their stuff. Stefano even spent extra time on styling my hair perfectly when he found out I was going to a special event.

Wiggy is the best! She is life changing for anyone with curly hair (coarse or fine doesn’t matter she knows her stuff). She has nursed my hair back to health and listened to exactly what I was wanting (long layers that work for curly or straight styling). No one else is allowed near my hair from now on. She created the most low maintenance versatile style. I love thank you

Stephanie is the color guru! I went from long hair too short then needed a boost in color to go with the new cut. Stephanie new exactly what to do (I did not!) it turned out fantastic! I love it! Whitcomb, in my opinion, the best hair stylist in the entire city. He not only is an incredibly skilled hair stylist but also an incredible person! He is so kind and talented that I look forward to everytime I get to visit him at the salon. He’s only available at the Joseph Cozza salon at 747 market st, the one right next to the four seasons so if you go to the maiden lane address you’ll be saddened to note he’s not there :(all over so so so amazing.

I have been seeing Peter since his days at Elizabeth Arden, but I have to say I love the Joseph Cozza Salon. All the stylists there are so sweet and talented.
If you’re looking for just a simple blowout or trim, to a complete new look (like my newly pixied purple do), Peter is your man. He always makes me feel amazing and comfortable and I get the best style no matter what new look I’m going for.

I try to be loyal. My previous hair stylist took 8 – 9 hours to dye and cut my hair. I went to her for about 10 years. Then, one day I came home from an appointment with a blue tint in my hair the day before I had to attend a wedding. I had no time and Cozza salon was able to take me in a few hours before I had to leave for the event. This place transformed me in less than 2 hours. I’ve been going ever since.
Typical visit takes about 4 hours. and that includes color, highlights, conditioning and overlay, cut and style. Overall, that’s quite fast.
I’ve yet to have a bad day here: colorists are Lisa and Joann; stylists are Katie and Maritza. All are efficient, thorough, and great at what they do.
Downside? Well… ok, this place is expensive… but what is your time worth? I get an entire afternoon back!

I’ve been coming to Joseph Cozza for a while now (specifically with Stefano) and have been pleased with my haircut.
It’s a great location if you are going to the gym since it’s inside of the Sports Club/​LA (now Equinox). I love the convenience and also getting a great cut at the same time!

I have been getting my hair cut by Stefano for about two years and he is a perfectionist. I love that! I always walk out of the salon feeling like a million bucks knowing that I got the best haircut in the city. Stefano has such a fun personality that the 45 minutes or so just fly by. The salon itself is extremely conveniently located. It is clean and all the employees are very friendly. I highly recommend the Joseph Cozza Salon and Stefano!

I’ve been going to Joseph Cozza Salon for more than ten years. Unlike a lot of salons I’ve tried in the past, the staff at Joseph Cozza go out of their way to accommodate requests for openings, and be flexible with the occasional but inevitable late arrival.
Stefano has been my stylist for most of the ten years I’ve been going to Joseph Cozza and he always makes me look good… and we have a great time while he’s working on my hair. I always leave in a good mood with a great haircut!

I have been going here for about eight years and I’ve been with Czarina when she worked out of Joseph Cozza’s location above Gump’s and followed her when she moved over to their location in the Four Seasons. She does a fantastic job with my cut and color each and every time and I’m always happy with the results!
The salon itself is pretty small, but has a great vibe. If you take BART, the Market Street station is on the same block. If you drive, there’s Jessie Square Garage nearby.

Oh, Wiggie. Your magic hands are all that I trust.
This place was simply convenient at first since I am a member of Sports Club LA. I dropped in one Saturday for an appt and I had Magdelena (who was wonderful). I liked the vibe, and although Magdelena was going on maternity leave, I decided to come back for my next hair cut.
I was reassigned to Wiggie, and I can honestly say that I’ve never looked back. The wonders she does with my thick, finicky hair is just amazing. She’s super sweet, very flexible to my needs, and so intuitive about what I want. She’s like the hair whisperer. She’s taken me from elbow length layers to a chin length bob, and back to shoulder length. We’re eagerly awaiting my next hair cut as it’ll be back to «long» and she’ll be able to do her layering magic!
The salon itself is obviously very sleek, modern, and immaculately clean. Nothing less than beautiful for the Joseph Cozza name! It’s a smaller sister branch of the bigger one on Maiden Lane, so it definitely has a quieter, more intimate feel to it.
For what I’m used to paying at other salons in the area for mediocre to nightmarishly bad haircut, Wiggie’s magic hands come at a value. Pretty standard fare for a top of the line salon in SF, but definitely the best experience and hair cut!
I can’t speak to the other services like coloring, but for haircuts, you can’t go wrong here. I’ve seen the other stylists work, and they all look like they have magic hands!

I relocated to San Francisco at the end of 2011. I belong to the gym at 747 Market, took a chance, & booked an appointment on New Year’s Eve. I’ve been with Czarina (color) & Stefano (cut) ever since. They are pros! I’m now working in Chicago and still arrange my travel so I can have them take care of me!
The salon is small but clean and casual. There are several parking options in the area. I love Joseph Cozza Salon!

When I was finally able to convince my mom to dye my hair, this is where she took me.
Lisa was my colorist. She was sure take the time needed, in order to truly understand the finished look i was going for (i.e. Requesting pictures, discussing my hair texture and routine, providing her own thoughts on what she believed would look best, etc.) She later walked me through every step of the process, which definitely made me more confident. Not to mention she was really friendly and funny!
Maritza cut my hair. She definitely cut the length we agreed on, rather than cutting more than wanted (my usual experience with a billion other salons). She also gave me a bunch of tips on how to keep my curls long lasting and was super friendly!
I have very long/​thick hair, and both Lisa and Maritza were patient with the lengthly processes that were needed for a cut and color.
Nearly four and a half hours later… I was introduced to the hair I had been dreaming of for so long.

Katie has been cutting my hair for about 2 years. I love her, she listens to my needs and NEVER cuts more than needed. She is super flexible and is always willing to fit me in for a bang trim. i have been growing my hair out and my last hair cut she gave me was on point! she did such a good job on my long layers it looked fab when it air dried and i was able to extend my trims between appointments. The ends of my hair never look choppy if i just let it air dry. she really knows what she is doing! aside from hair she is super cute and funky! very happy with my stylist =) thanks katie!
