I am not, by nature, a creature of habit. I do, however, look forward to my Wednesday lunch out with my alcoholic friends to dish on the antics of the weekend prior. I was especially in need of a hearty lunch today. I had a long, fantastic evening, hardly put a dent in my dinner last night and drank about a gallon of coffee by the time lunch rolled around. I was starving. Alas, my weekday gossip addicts were not around today. So, knowing this was the case, I decided to do something crazy and go to lunch with a few friends who do not drink much, whos weekend antics include things like triathlons, going to the gym, hiking and other outdoor activities. It only seemed right that I stick with the theme of the day so we went to lunch at the gym. Yep, Oliver Café is in the Sports Club LA. Most of the items on their menu boast being healthier than your average restaurant entrée, which meant I expected that, while lunch would keep me from feeling fatigued, I would be hungry a few hours later. Well, what a shock. I had hanger steak with an Asian glaze, mashed sweet potatoes and broccoli and it was delicious and filling and came with a refreshing side of conversation about something other than who was the most wasted last weekend. Don’t get me wrong, I am running straight back into the arms of my debaucherous friends next Wednesday, but I may just have to meet my healthy friends at the gym on Mondays from now on.
