Beautiful restaurant in the Four Seasons hotel! I met three ladies for breakfast and we had a great experience — attentive and professional service, high quality food and a very nice setting for a breakfast meeting. I enjoyed the mint tea(some of the best) and a smoothie(pricy, but quite good). I would definitely come back for breakfast again or another meal to enjoy this tasty treat.

I came here with a colleague for lunch and was THOROUGHLY pleased. I would rate MKT(the restaurant part at least, as we did not dine at the bar) in the upper rankings of hotel restaurants. Browsing the menu puts you in the difficult position of deciding between great food and drink options. While the fried chicken sliders sound basic, the kimchi slaw and sauce just really made the dish. I ordered a Lazy Lightning, which is a tantalizing concoction with vodka, fennel pollen, lemon orange blossom honey, and, of all things, egg white. I was looking for something unusual and was definitely pleased by the complexity of the drink. We began with the tomato soup for an appetizer. Let me just point out that I don’t normally care for tomato soup and can only recall ordering it once or twice, anywhere, ever. But MKT pulled out all the stops. Interestingly, the soup is made without cream, and has a luscious texture and an awesome, slightly buttery taste. It’s served with a nice slide of bread that complemented it well. I MELTED into this soup. I also had the French toast. The crust/edges were a little hard but the inside melted in my mouth, and I was two seconds away for asking for a take-home container of their maple syrup. The service was friendly, professional, and attentive without being overbearing. I will definitely be returning to MKT the next time I’m in SF!

For the price this food was incredibly disappointing. I ordered the halibut… it was one the more disappointing cuts of Halibut I’ve had. My brother ordered a SirLoin burger and it looked pretty average. On the bright side I saw Lebron eating dinner!

Went to visit MKT Restaurant last weekend for dinner with family and friends. We ordered the cheese plate appetizer, red wine and white wine, the salmon, halibut, and sea scallops as main entrees and enjoyed the meal and the ambiance of the restaurant. It looks out onto downtown SF and has a nice view of the city. Why the 3 star rating? The service. We had to flag down our server every time we wanted to order. For the appetizers, for the drinks, for the main dishes, and twice for the check. Awkward. Like we had to do the whole look around the restaurant for the server, make eye contact, raise your hand, and ask for attention. I would’ve have justified it if the restaurant had been really busy but it wasn’t crowded when we were there. The meal could’ve lasted an 1 ½ with diligent service but was extended to over 2 ½ hours and I’m not sure if we’ll go back. Also, we parked in the parking lot that we thought was affiliated with the Four Seasons &MKT and it ended up being the wrong structure so they were unable to validate. Check before you park! Call ahead and confirm.

It’s important to distinguish between the restaurant and the bar, since both of them fly under the MKT banner. The bar is fantastic… comfy, great drinks — just what you want in a luxury hotel bar. But this review is about the restaurant. Nope. I recently returned for lunch after having taken a 10-year hiatus, and I can say the experience has not changed. The real problem is the food. I don’t understand how a luxury hotel can put food like this on the table and think it’s acceptable. Perhaps their clientele turns over so frequently they don’t need to care? But come on – chicken cutlets so tough you could use them to hammer a nail? Four Seasons, you have a genuine opportunity here. There is no luxury hotel restaurant anywhere near you with a comfortable room and decent food(I’m looking at you, St. Regis). Why not capture this market segment by sprucing up your restaurant(isn’t it about time?), and hiring a decent chef?

Amazing spot to just unwind… have a few after a busy day of shopping, or relax after business. Friendly staff who definitely go above and beyond for their guests. Great atmosphere. Recomend the fruit and cheese plate with some amazing wine.

Well, let’s start with the good. We were staying at the Four Seasons, so MKT was easy to get to. The bartender at the stand alone bar was funny and served a mean drink. The space is nice and sleek, and while we were there, several NBA players were wandering the vicinity, so that was cool. On the other hand, Four Seasons is synonymous with excellence, that is why you pay a fortune to stay here and dine here. Our gaggle of gals had dinner here to celebrate a special event. 6 of us ordered a variety of their pricier entrees and started off with the charcuterie and charred octopus and a sampling of cocktails. The apps and cocktails were good. Our server was a bit cheeky with us & we hadn’t really established that that was ok with us, so it was a bit weird. We ordered our entrees and 3 of us ordered that filet, 2 the seabass and one had the rib eye. All 3 steaks were overcooked — we ordered medium. And the 2 seabasses were still frozen in the middle. Our server offered to take back the steaks but we had to be somewhere after dinner, so we opted out of having them remade. The seabass had to be sent back as it was inedible. The ribeye was fine. Our server was very apologetic and took back the fish and sent us a dessert sampler at the end of dinner in an attempt to apologize. We appreciated the treats and the apologies, but at Four Seasons, this just isn’t acceptable. Our dinner was really expensive and not great. Perhaps our expectations were much too high for a hotel restaurant, but this was certainly a first for me at a hotel of this caliber. In the end, we didn’t dine here again, and if I was here again, I’d go off property if I wanted a good meal.

I hate«luxury» restaurants or anything fancy but a relative was treating so I decided to go. I knew this was going to be «fancy shmancy» when I was with former SF Mayor Willie Brown in the elevator on the way to the restaurant and saw Kimora Lee Simons at the bar. The food was great. The scallops appetizer was delicious. They were very fresh. The pork chop main course was seasoned well and cooked just right. Minus one star for the ridiculously overpriced prices but other than that, great experience.

The best place for a business meeting in SF. Nice warm atmosphere and oleasent service to compliment. It was just the open solitude we needed to handle uninterrupted business with all the necessities. Thanks MKT.

solid place. Stayed at the four seasons while in San Fran, and this is the hotel restaurant. Great service and solid food. Portions are small and tasty(also pricey) but thats the norm in California. I got the Lobster ceviche, which was fantastic. I also tried the octopus which although wasn’t my fav, it was pretty good. The Lamb rigatoni was excellent though. Solid place and I would recommend. Also, this might be one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. AWESOME!!!

I’m on a hotel lounge craze right now, looking for those that have loungy seating, like couches, because it tends to cut down on noise while being comfy. On that count, MKT is a good choice, however, it is SO expensive, it’s nuts. $ 16+ for wines-by-the-glass or cocktails. $ 15 – 24 for apps. These are approaching entrée prices but not portions. Plus, although the servers were very responsive, it took the bar about 15 minutes to make a gimlet. They were probably backed up right at that moment, but I stuck with wine after that. After swallowing the prices, most of the food was pretty good. The octopus was quite tender and I liked the lobster ceviche. Don’t bother with the cheeseboard or the olives. I will keep searching for those SF downtown hotel lounges. I only have St. Regis and W Hotel as my go-to’s so far!

Oh how we love MKT. For some reason MKT seems to be our go to lately for business meetings in SF. I guess we just like the atmosphere. Atmosphere or perhaps the yummy seasoned popcorn you get while you wait for your drinks? Or maybe it’s the amazing concoctions that they whip up there to drink, or maybe the creative and intricate menu they have? All of these are reasons why we just love MKT. We started coming here when it used to be Season’s, the steak house and we were afraid that we may not like it once the restaurant changed because it sounded a little pretentious, but not at all. A signature cocktail or bloody mary or champagne– depending on the occassion, a charcuterie plate with a dash of seasoned popcorn and I am a happy lady whilst conducting casual business meetings, or even just hanging out with the husband before we head out for a night on the town. Regardless we always enjoy ourselves at MKT.

Compared to other restaurants in the same price range, I would say MKT’s food was average. The food I tried: — Charred Octopus: Good, but it was sad that there was only 1 tentacle. — Chacuterie Board: The pickled vegetables stood out more than the meat assortment — Lobster Ceviche: Excellent! Would recommend! — Royal Sweet Scallops: Average. The scallops were cooked well, but I was left wishing that I had ordered the filet — Brandt Beef Prime Flat Iron: Good, but not as tender as the filet — Five Dot Ranch Filet: Excellent! I only had a bite, but that one bite was so flavorful and delicious and tender. The service was fantastic. The décor was modern(newspaper themed). They have seats by the bar too if you want to stop in for a drink. Given the bounty of American restaurants in SF, I most likely won’t return. However, if someone were to ask me if they should try it out, I wouldn’t tell them not to go

Headache on Valentine’s Day. Reserved a table here 3 weeks before Valentine’s Day only to be alerted 48 hours before that there was a mandatory prix fixe menu. Extremely unprofessional for a restaurant of this nature. Canceled out of principle and will not be back.

Took my parents here for brunch. Booked online and requested a table with a view(since they are visiting from Europe). Checked in with no hassle and a superb table. Service was friendly but not in your face or ott. Menu was marked with gluten free items — quite a few to choose from. I had the shrimp and grits. It was wetter than I expected having had this in other places and it seemed like a fish soup. Delicious grits and a generous serving. My mum, also gluten intolerant had the frittata and it was served with gluten free toast. Was excellent. My step dad had delicious looking smoked salmon platter with an onion bagel and my husband had the corn beef hash — which was ok. Overall very happy. Prices on the higher side but nothing stupid and was worth it to enjoy the atmosphere. Surprisingly, for 12 midday on a Sunday, it was pretty quiet. Will return.

I have been to Mkt a lot of times. I would recommend the bar over the restaurant. It’s more cozy and I personally like the food better. The service is always great and you can easily find seating at the restaurant.

Neat ambiance with reasonable tasting food. I had the foie gras and bolognese. After a recent trip to France, the foie gras left much to be desired. Bolognese was tasty with more flavor. In general, I would come here more for a drink at the bar rather than to dine with so many great spots in SF.

You would have never thought to pronounce this restaurant M-K-T unless you visited. And you would have never experienced the magic of MKT Restaurant Chef Chris Aguirre unless you visited. Located in the lobby of the Four Seasons in the SoMa District, MKT Restaurant specializes in California-inspired cuisine featuring shareable small plates and quality meats from local California ranches. The beautifully plated Lobster Ceviche includes big lumps of lobster meat with heart of palm, onions, jalapeño, a purée of sweet potato, and roasted peanut for the crunchy, creamy textures. MKT’s pasta dishes satisfy the much-needed carb craving. The Rigatoni, made with lamb ragout, toybox tomato, and manchego, is cooked perfectly al dante, while the fluffy Potato Gnocchi with foraged mushrooms in Parmesan broth has pieces of padron pepper for a slight kick of spiciness. If you are a red meat lover, you must try the 8 oz filet from Five Dot Ranch — cut a piece of that lean, tender filet and smother it with the hazelnut romesco and trumpet mushroom on the side. Your mouth and stomach will thank you! No matter how full, you must save room for the dessert at MKT. In addition to the traditional dessert options like chocolate cake, MKT has amazing Brown Butter Polenta Cake topped with port wine apples and cranberry sorbet. Don’t think of donuts as plebeian — the dense Brioche Donuts served with sweet potato purée, Yuzu pudding, and espresso ice cream will awake all your sweet senses.

Got the la perna, which is a cocktail With Johnie walker black and other mixings. The price was $ 16. Nice atmosphere, nice music(not too loud) l, not crowded. Located on the fifth floor of the 4 seasons hotel. Also their complimentary popcorn is pretty good as well.

My first time at this bar/restaurant and it was wonderful! We were treated like queens. The staff here are amazing — very attentive, polite, and accommodating. We got the celery root salad, which tasted just okay — but was visually beautiful. We then tried the pumpkin/squash soup, which I thought would be gross but OMG it’s delicious! Definitely give the pumpkin soup a try. For our main dish, we got the steak filet — which was pretty good. Lastly, we did a taste tester of the desserts and got chocolate cups, crème brûlée spoons, macaroons, and tiny éclairs. The desserts were adorable and even had rose petals as decoration. This is a cute place to go for a ladies night or a «treat yo self» night. Loved it, will definitely be back!

it’s really an indulgence(i.e., not cheap) but I really like coming here for a quiet drink. you can actually have a conversation. and there are really comfortable seating areas. there’s a nice cocktail menu, and all the mixed drinks are a good size. service is prompt and professional. I think the bar bites menu changes once in a while, but the charcuterie, beets, and cheese plate are all good choices. the location is a little hard to find, you enter the street-level lobby on Market and take an elevator to the main lobby. MKT is off the main lobby.

My fiancé and I went here right after we got engaged. Food was great and the server was accommodating. I had the Prime Rib and it was amazing and my fiancé had Marys Chicken and she liked it. The view of market st is great and the restaurant is quiet enough to have formal meetings and small get togethers. I was sweating profusely because I had just asked my fiancé to marry me and my heart rate was really high. I couldn’t stop sweating and I went into the bathroom several times to stop. I should have asked the server to swap shirts with me but I didn’t think about that option at the moment. Something tells me that this waiter would have said yes and swapped shirts to save me but everything turned out ok in the end.

The perfect typical business lunch location. If you’re in SF looking for something solid but not spectacular I highly recommend this place. The lemonade and ice tea is cool because the ice cubes are made out of lemonade itself so it doesn’t dilute the lemonade or tea when the cubes melt.(How come more establishments don’t do this???) The food is pretty decent. I enjoyed the crispy texture of my whitefish, overall the plating was decent. Again not spectacular but solid. Especially if you are trying to have a power lunch with a client going over biz details. The décor and environment is anything you would expect from the Four Seasons. I would definitely come back.

I was hesitant because of the mixed reviews but I went here for dinner because my family flew into town. I got one of the fish dishes and it was well cooked, crisp and perfectly accompanied with the mushroom sauce prepared. There were also a number of kids at the table and they were really accommodating. Great service and everything was on point.

I am a bit late on my review here as we went for Christmas dinner. I also believe I tried this restaurant several years ago for dine about town. The restaurant has a nice modern ambiance and very friendly service. The bar just outside of the restaurant is a great place to relax and grab pre-dinner drinks. Food wise, considering it is the Four Seasons I expected a bit more. The Christmas menu was pre-fixe and included an appetizer that was a bit heavy on the goat cheese. I personally am not a huge fan of goat cheese but it just seemed to overwhelm the dish. The dessert was disappointing as well as it was way too sweet. The entrees seemed to be a hit for all at the table though. I had the fish which was delicate and flaky.

The dressed-up comfort food here is nice in theory, and pretty tasty overall. Certain lapses in quality, such as an over-cooked steak and a cheese platter that looked like it came straight from Trader Joe’s(Parmesan and Brie, really?), might have been overlooked if not for a couple of things: One, the pricing is pretty absurd, even by neighborhood standards. Two, it took a full 90 minutes for us to receive our entrees, which is an insane amount of time by any stretch of the imagination. So, not stellar, but you could do worse in this part of town. And the view is actually quite nice.

A friend told me MKT has chicken and waffles for weekend brunch. My curiosity was sparked instantly as I love this combination! I mentioned it to my other friend and we were both intrigued. First of all, I was starved! We ordered drinks, Bloody Mary and mimosa, and then quickly ordered a dungeness crab fritter appetizer(good flavoring, nice crispy fried texture). And of course, we each got an order of the fried chicken and waffles. It was good, nothing especially pizzazzy but good. Our bill each with tax and tip was about $ 50. The drink tacked on quite a bit($ 14), the crab fritter was a good value but I think the fried chicken and waffle could have been something a little more for $ 20. Good service though and I’m glad I tried it.

I mainly wanted to write a review for the fantastic service we received here. We were exhausted from a day of traveling and this restaurant was in our hotel so we decided to check it out. My husband booked us the reservation with the concierge and when we got down there, our waiter told us he had spoken with the concierge and that she thought we were really sweet. That was a great way to start off the experience. Throughout the meal, the timing was staged perfectly. They had the Tomato soup waiting and since I had to run to the restroom real fast right before they were about to bring it out, they held the soup until I got back. Then, right before they were bringing it out, the waiter told us he wasn’t happy with the temperature of the soup so they promptly brought us a warmer one– it was great that we didn’t have to receive a luke-warm soup and then have to complain, leaving us feeling bad. We also ordered the roasted halibut, and chicken, both of which were great. Our waiter also recommended two drinks: the Stranger in moscow and the Howard copper pot, both great but one was a little too fruity for us. Also, the atmosphere and the view here were great, we had a great time.

Good drinks… so so décor… so so food. I tried their kimchi steamed mussels per the bartender’s recommendation. The mussels were super small. The pork belly it came with(yes, they had pork belly in the broth) tasted rather tough — it could’ve used at least another 15 minutes on the stove. The seats(from barstools to couches) were not very comfortable. They do make some nice drinks though.
