Joshua’s Dog Training

If you have a dog and are «thinking» about training him/​her… my advice is don’t think about it — DO IT! For his/​her safety it’s the only option, plus, you will have the kind of relationship with your dog that you only dreamed of.
I was lucky enough to meet Joshua just after we adopted our willful little lab/​terrier mix, Bodhi (4 months old). Every week Joshua took us all through a very specific training process. He didn’t use any treats or gimmicks so that we could take Bodhi anywhere — with or without treats — and still be in control of him.
In a few short months Bodhi learnt sit, stay, down, heal. Once he had completed his «on-​leash» training he was ready for his ‘off-​leash’. It was an amazing feeling to have him trot along side me without a leash and without being fearful that he was going to run into the street.
Joshua is calm, firm, consistent and IN CONTROL. He’s had dogs all his life. He is the ‘master’ and the dogs know it! I’ve seen him with huge dogs as well as tiny vocal, snappy little things. There is no dog Joshua cannot train. But the best thing is his constant support and encouragement as you go through the process.
Without Joshua’s patience, persistence and excellent advice my husband and I would be completely at a loss on how to communicate with our dog and the dog would probably have complete run of the house (and us!) by now.
Every parent/​carer (whether it’s dogs or children) needs to have the skill to deal with every situation. That skill has to be learnt and Joshua’s the person to teach it to you.
