OK, first off– LOVE the shoeshine wine, but this review is about the incredible service when ordering online! Granted, I am fortunate enough to live here in SF, so I am local– but get this… I ordered a few bottles on Friday evening– after business, like 5 – 6 o’clock. That evening I got an email asking if I preferred delivery that Sunday evening 5 – 8 or Monday 1 – 3, and that once I told them they would reply with a more narrow delivery window(really!?). Now I actually forgot to reply until about 4 pm on Sunday, but at 5 pm I got an email indicating they would be by between 7 – 8 pm– needless to say I was BLOWNAWAY when a nice guy showed up at 7:30 pm, ONSUNDAY, with my wine! I was so blown away I felt like I should have tipped they guy after he left, so I’m writing this review instead(and, of course, ordering some more of the DELICIOUS shoe shine wine!) I don’t know if this is the standard, but still… amazing service! PS– There was no charge for shipping/delivery!

I got to try a few of their wines at an event a couple weeks ago. I like that they are into the natural wine movement as I’ve started to see this develop in Paris and Copenhagen as preferred wines for many restaurants. I liked the whites but not the reds so much. Again, taste is such a subjective thing. Sometimes things just dont vibe with you. So stick to the whites I will. 3.5 stars

Justice Grace Vineyards is a local San Francisco micro-winery. We usually buy our bottles of their famous offering, Shoeshine Wines, at Bi-Rite or Rainbow. Shoeshine’s Petit Sirah is balanced, hearty, and well-priced. You also can feel good about your purchase. Owner Eric runs his business in a manner that is genuinely socially and environmentally responsible. I was happily surprised to see that Shoeshine wine was donated to the last Mission Street Food event, where all proceeds went to The Food Pantry.
