A great, honest mechanic. I was overheating in the Mission and he ran some pressure tests on my radiator and looked at my system. He confirmed that I was having head gasket problems on my 1991 4Runner (tragic) and sent me on my way free of charge. Not the toughest diagnosis to make on a ’91 4Runner but all the other guys in town were charging the terrible $ 90 for an appraisal. He is honest, knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with.

Love the guy who works this place. Seems to be totally honest and a hard worker. Affordable and efficient oil changes. Very convenient job getting brakes checked & rotor + brakes replaced. Glad to find a «go to» auto service place.

Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I stopped by unannounced at 1pm on a Saturday (he closes at 2pm) hoping to drop off my car for an oil change. The guy cheerily greeted me and said no problem — he’d stay a little late to finish my car, and I just had to return by 2:30pm. Asked me what type of oil (synthetic) and anything else I wanted him to check.
Sure enough, when I returned at 2:15pm he was finished with my car… after all the standard checks, no problems found. $ 45 in cash and I was on my way. Will definitely be back!

I had a great experience getting an oil change at K&K this morning. Got there right as they opened (a few minutes after 9am), was the second one in the door. Told the older gentleman attending that I’d like an oil change — he took the keys to my 2010 Scion and my phone number and said it would be about an hour. In fact it took about 1hr 45min, but that was no problem whatsoever as my walk to Tartine for a chocolate croissant to eat at Dolores Park was pleasant and occupying.
$ 29 and change (in Cash — card machine was broken) and I was out the door, no hassle, no up-​sells. Fabulous.

I brought my 95 Honda Civic in with a leak in the trunk that I’d been working on forever. The guy took a look, hooked up an air hose and fixed it in about 5 mins and charged me only $ 10. A wonderful experience. Thanks!

I was able to get my timing belt and water pumped replaced here on short notice at an extremely reasonable price. The owner was extremely friendly and kept me up to date on the status of my car. I have no hesitation with bringing my car here the next time I need to get my car serviced.

This guy is solid. Been getting oil changes from him for a long while now; he has very reasonable prices for SF (less than $ 50 for the change and rotation). Easy to drive on by at 9am and get things checked out, while you grab a coffee or pastry at Four Barrel/​Stanza/​Tartine/​etc. Also has brakes done, lights replaced, and some other mechanical work as my aging car slowly falls apart, with no hassle or problems. Really nice to have a reliable affordable mechanic you can visit, and he always has this smiling cheerful attitude! (Just don’t go and book him up so fully I can’t get quick work done anymore ;P).

We’ve been to K & K twice and both times were impressed with the level of communication and honesty. The owner appears to be on his own and it’s a low key, low-​tech experience (a nice change from the dealer where you feel like part of an assembly line). No unnecessary work was recommended, the work was done quickly and the price was reasonable. Just seeing some interactions with people in the neighborhood it’s obvious the owner is a well-​liked and trusted local small business owner. Now that my car is past warranty, this will be my go-​to mechanic.

I have owned my car for for almost 14 years and I don’t think that I have ever heard it run as well as it did after I left this shop and the ironic part is I have been using the dealership service department. I brought my car in when the check engine light came on and started flashing, they were able to get me in the next morning an had all of the repairs done the same day! The prices were amazing and the work is seriously top notch. For an old Jeep Wrangler it purrs like a kitten. I am incredibly impressed and will continue to take my car there and have already recommended it to all of my friends with a car.

Excellent service! Went above and beyond to make sure I would have a safe drive down to LA. Even ordered and had a part delivered to the shop to save me the hassle of going to O’reilly/autozone afterwards. Highly recommend! Mr. Ma doesn’t a phenomenal job with very reasonable prices.

This place is my go to spot for any regular work I need done for my car (oil change, tire pressure, etc.) Kwong is a jack of all trade mechanics. Very friendly, fast, and affordable. He doesn’t try and fleece his clients. The prices are affordable compared to other mechanics in the City. He only accepts walkins but his shop is right near a bunch of a coffee shops on Valencia so it’s easy to kill time. Highly recommend this spot.

Wow, he’s like a one man show.
He changed my oil, replaced my rear brakes and rotors, *and* fixed my wonky hood that was scraping the fender every time I opened it. No charge on the hood fix, because Kwon is the man!
Low prices too. No upselling or replacing junk you don’t need.

Super affordable, quick, helpful & friendly.
Needed to get an oil change. Called in to see if the mechanic was available and he was. Brought my car in and was called to picked up the car in less than 30 minutes. It only cost $ 20 which is a steal compared to the other places I have gone to that charge $ 25-​$ 30+.
He also does a safety check with the oil change and he told me that my front two tires are going out. He didn’t ask me if he could change it for me or anything. Just simply let me know. I was glad to receive this information because I don’t know squat about cars besides putting in gas and getting oil changes.
I would definitely come back here if I need any service in the future!

This place is amazing !!!
He was so nice to me and always did a great job with my car at a great price. Knowing nothing about cars, I’ve always been cheated or overcharged by other places. And unlike them, Kwon didn’t even try to talk me into unnecessary services when I brought my car there for an oil change.
