KFC

PSA — this KFC has CLOSED. At least management had the decency of waiting until after the holidays before the employees were laid off. It’s probably another condo building in development.
The store’s staff service and food quality was actually quite decent, much better than the Lombard location. This was the site of my best fast food customer service experience ever (previous review).

i order kfc when i need food in a hurry. it’s fastfood! i dont expect to pay for my order then have them make me wait for almost 30 minutes. Unacceptable!

It’s not just that I hate the way I feel after eating KFC, it’s how dumb I am to order it in the first place.
Walking in, the restaurant looks kind of dirty, everything appears sticky and even the soda doesn’t look right.
A bored young girl mumbles questions I ask her to repeat,
«Oh, original, I guess.»
I hand her $ 11 and look around at the motley clientele and laugh as I remind myself «Here I am, too» — and not looking much better, either, having run through the rain & without a lick of makeup.
I’m not offered a bag and forget to ask for one. I precariously balance our $ 5 «value» meals until we’re home.
Once opened and after one bite, the chicken is not crispy, the oil wasn’t hot enough.
Bummer all around, from the empty nutrition, the zillion calories we don’t need and it wasn’t even a guilty pleasure.
Slap me next time I think about eating KFC.

The food was good and the employees were fine, but their bathroom is one of the grossest bathrooms I’ve seen. It looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in months. Toilet paper all over the walls and floor. Dirt in the sink caked on to the sides. Shit on the seat. I couldn’t even bring myself to use it. Gross.

Mixed feelings about this location. It generally is busy, and when so, only have one cashier working rather than two. Not enough staff to keep the nice seated areas clean. The music is always bangin’. Old school soul and funk. The floors are always hella sticky, so don’t wear your Air Jordans. If you’re looking to have a peaceful meal inside, be prepared for lots of obnoxious children or wandering, annoying homeless people. The food is always good, but the orders are generally wrong. It’s a nice KFC/​TB combo. Higher end on prices of fast food so I only get KFC every so often.

Typical KFC place plus taco bell. Dirty inside. Employees are nice. No restroom available. Guess you have to eat with a sport only after touching the door behind one of the sniffling runny nosed near homeless customers ahead of you. Wonder where the employees go potty.

I could see the stress on the employee’s face at the register when she saw a line. This location was completely understaffed the day I came in. I felt bad for her, but I felt bad for me for waiting 30 minutes for a half filled mashed potato bowl. A waste of time and money. They ran out of mashed potatoes and didn’t have anyone making them because there were only 3 people working the whole restaurant. I should have known better after seeing that 78 on their health score. I’m so glad I didn’t get sick!
Pro tip:
Pass + go to 6^th Ave location.

Ricardo M. needs to be re-​trained as a manager. He has poor attitude for a manager. He was rude to me upon returning to his restaurant because his employee left items off from my order. His employee inconveniences me and he gives me attitude. No apologies. As a manager working the counter, you expect that he checks all orders to ensure completeness and at least provides quality customer service. Won’t go back to this sty. It’s dirty and other time I went there, they refused to make additional chicken when it was 6:00 pm, heart of dinner time. Place needs to be shutdown for good.

I have been to this site many times and it is not getting any better, I will not be back. Food is horrible, never get orders right and management is never there and they are always out of food. Who owns this one because they don’t care how it is being run.

Sure, I like my Fridays a little ghetto and smelling like weed.

The manager (Ricardo) and the other employees deserve a recommendation at this location. They provided me with friendly, helpful service even to accommodate a special order request.

So my review for this chain restaurant is not to rate KFC compared to other chicken joints (that is for you to decide). I am simply comparing this particular KFC to other KFC’s I have been to. As a disclaimer I do love me some KFC from time to time. Mostly I love the potato wedges and gravy. Oh, and their chicken ain’t bad. I’ve been to lots of KFC’s around the US. Unfortunately this place is pretty below average. It is always dirty, the soda machine never works properly, and the service is unbelievably slow.
On a positive note the people who work there are generally quite friendly and they generally get my order (mostly) correct.
The food quality is about average. It is generally reasonably fresh.

The only reason I’d give them 1 star was the woman at the front. Very nice, helpful, and seemed to be running that place on her own (despite having at least 4 other employees in the back).
No let’s get to the bathroom. Coin operated. Ya… Coin. But not just any coin, you have to go get a coin from the front. This wouldn’t be horrible if it didn’t get jammed. Then, the manager (rude as hell) told me it happens all them time. So, I stood there trying not to pee my pants while the dude had to basically take the door apart.
If that’s not enough… The place is disgusting. I wouldn’t trust it.

Eh, this location was pretty shaky…
BF and I headed over here to use some of the coupons we received in the mail. We arrived a little before noon and there were only two employees to be seen, a lady working the register and a guy in the back. We were looking at the menu for a few minutes when suddenly the lady said «I’ll be right back» and proceeded to talk on the phone for 5 minutes… that irked me quite a bit since we pretty much knew what we wanted by the time she left the register.
We placed our order and received the discount for our coupons. However, it took FOREVER for our food to come out which made no sense because we were the only ones in the store! And we only ordered three tacos and a bean burrito –_​_​_​– We finally got our food and it was fine, but the wait put me off, and the floor was sticky with soda which was pretty gross. I’d think twice about returning any time soon.

We went here once, because we’d received some coupons in the mail.
The manager (supervisor? not sure) was rude and the checker at the counter seemed confused. They were out of multiple items (coupon stuff and non-​coupon stuff) and didn’t seem to really have a handle on what was/n’t available. They ended up giving us something that wasn’t actually quite what we’d ordered.
The floor was sticky. The counter and the tables were dirty and sticky.
Not a fan of this location. I didn’t expect a fine dining experience, but basic cleanliness, competence, and politeness would have been appreciated.

i dare not eat inside… no need for an explanation, you’ll know when you see.
the chicken was non-fail…so 3-​stars here.
i can only imagine what this place is like at night… probably lots of GTFO moments.

There is only one KFC in SF that I will make the effort to visit — Geary/​Fillmore — and the reason is simple — Caroline the cashier.!! She is, by far, the friendliest and most personable service-​oriented employee you’ll find in an otherwise fast-​food franchise.
She is always upbeat and clearly, knows the «repeat customers». She quick with a cheery greeting and never misses the opportunity to suggest/​recommend any new item or maybe a dessert, while never coming across as pushy.
KFC is always going to be KFC — consistent food regardless of the location. It’s the 1^st impression of who takes your order that determines whether or not to return. I can only hope KFC is aware of the value-​added expreience Caroline brings. She’ll make you smile even before you’ve ordered. Great Job!

Disgusting restaurant. Trash everywhere!

I live a few blocks away and to be completely honest, my roommates and I usually laugh and say a few jokes about this place when we pass it.
BUT…
…one day we went in.
It smells like saturday morning cartoons, void of all responsibility.
I have to say that I would have to rate this place low if it were not for the guy behind the counter. It was late, and the kid behind the counter named Christopher was handeling business like a pro. Someone went before us and was irate about something or other, and Christopher went into Cool Hand Luke mode and punished the irate customer with kindness and ease. Christopher went on later to give my buddy a deal on his chicken plate because my buddy was having a hard time deciding (seriously, endless options)
Look, if you hate KFC and Taco Bell, then dont enter the doors, you are a stones throw from Pac Heights… aka…specific whites. There you will find a plethora of expensive options that will help you feel safe and good about yourself.
I happen to prefer Popeyes, but I am down with Taco Bell… so down.
The Doritos Taco shell… mind blowing good.
As for you Christopher, bravo, good show. I hope your manager reads this and gives you a bonus.
