King Of Coffee

My fave place for coffee when I’m in the city. Great, hard-​to-​find beans and the owner really knows his stuff. The turkish coffee is really strong and good. Not really a hangout atmosphere, not a laptop to be seen anywhere, which is nice.

Hand drip coffee and a mission mini cupcake are the perfect afternoon pick me up. Please note they are no longer on 24^th but in the Mission Market –an arcade btwn. 21^st and 22^nd. I’m glad I stumbled across them. They are surrounded by a Chinese restaurant, meat market, pupuseria a Peruvian place and yes a flower stand. Check them out.

The owner of this place asked me if I was there for the plants or coffee, and then proceeded to blow my mind with the a single-​drip «Fog Lifter.» The iced coffee ain’t a joke either.

Solid coffee from nice people. Josué, who is usually working, will always take time to make me feel welcome. King of Coffee is co-​located with the (rather odd) plant store that’s been in this location for a few years, now, so don’t be put off by the row of potted plants that might encircle the door when you stop by.
King of Coffee wants to add the sugar and milk for you, which is fine in principal, but they tend to add too much sugar. Since I drink it sweetened-​but-​not-​sweet, I ask for half a spoonful only.

A rather unique mix of coffee and flowers, King Of Coffee is a new addition to the 24^th Street scene. The shop is covered in greenery, with one wall dedicated to the finest selection of Rodger’s (
) one cup at a time beans.
On this particular morning I was waking up after spending a few hours dancing to Jaytech, and I was in need of fuel. The super friendly guy behind the counter recommended the Jet Fuel. A few minutes later I was on my way with an outstanding cup, nicely finished with a dash of nonfat milk.
A few hours later I had rocked both the gym and a wedding dance floor. Jet Fuel delivered as promised. I will definitely be back.
