I hesitate to get this place too well known because it’s a little neighborhood gem. It has become our Friday night place, either for take out or dine in. The sushi is fresh and delicious. The crab cakes are amazing and they have a good variety of menu items and sakes. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this place.

Nice people but eh food. We tried the Killer Hamachi that people rave about, but really, vinegar and jalapenos don’t do any favors to the fish. The softshell crab was a bit fishy tasting. The green beans were pleasant enough.

The places has solid decour, but it was expensive for the quality of the rolls/sashimi salad we got. We ordered 5 dishes there. The French kiss roll and the P4 roll were pretty good. The goma tuna looks nice but didn’t test that great. The good roll was not so good. The spicy sashimi the hot sauce they used didn’t mix well with the sashimi. The quality of the sashimi is pretty good as compared with other places I have gone to, but the assembly of the roll isn’t as up to par.

I came here with my bf last night. Parking isn’t that easy to find, we went around 3 times to find parking. There isn’t much near the place either. A new dance studio is in the process of being open, but other than that– its fairly quiet. Tried it once, probably wont go back again. When we went there were a few people there. No wait, nor was it popping. Super empty. Disappointed by this place. 1) Green tea– wasn’t authentic enough– it was not hot(huge disappointment) 2) ordered 5 dishes– only 2 of the 5 were decent 3) don’t order the spicy sashimi salad– its basically siracha sauce and lettuce plus a few pieces of fish 4) french kiss was decent 5) pretty pricey– 60 dollars for 5 dishes, fish was fresh, technique and taste was not on par

A very hidden gem in a very hidden neighborhood around the corner from my very hidden house. Been coming here since it opened it has always been great. Excellent rolls and specialty dishes, priced politely. Try the Cheese Monster and 757 roll, as well as industry standards like dragon and dinosaur roll. The Matrix is a hit, and the 49er(different from the one at Ebisu) is great as well.

Best sushi I’ve had in San Francisco. I’ve lived in the city for 5 years and thought I’ve tried all the good places, but K’s Kitchen is the best. The sushi is very fresh and prices are extremely reasonable, especially for SF.

I am so thankful and lucky to have K’s Kitchen as my neighborhood restaurant. If I didn’t live so far from where most of my friends live, I would take everyone to his hidden gem. So where do I begin. Try ALL of their small plates. It’s all really delicious. My favorite is The Seared Scallop. My god. Delicious, lightly creamy flavors, with a kick of wasabi. So simple, but so memorable. The String Beans is lightly fried, giving a nice salty kick to a crispy veggie. The buttery butter fish sashimi. Meltingly yummy. Most importantly, they are always consistent. I’ve been here countless times and I don’t think I’ve complained once. Ken, the owner, is very kind and provides amazing service. It’s never rowdy and always feels intimate after a long, hard day at work. My favorite Japanese restaurant in all of SF.

Wow, I really wanted to like this place. It’s not a traditional sushi experience, they have deep fried rolls, dinner menu, etc. When I sat down, I had high hopes, the ambiance reminded me of good fushion joints I’ve been to in Chicago. Dishes seemed great, spicy bomb, crispy green beans with ahi tuna, super dynamite, killer habachi, and ozekei sake… what could go wrong? –killer habachi had bone in it. Manager took off bill –they ran out of toro, so waitress said bonito, baby tuna seared was similar. I asked if it could be served not seared as I prefer sashimi, waitress confirmed and said it’s how she preferred. Dish came out seared, I said it was supposed to be sashimi… waitress said chef said to prepare seared only… fine. Guess what, seared ain’t sashimi. –waitress disappeared, gf wanted to order udon. Went to bathroom, waitress was eating. Could have told us u were going on break and had somebody to cover. –ask second waitress to order udon, comes back with check. Explain we wanted udon, she apologizes and runs to kitchen. Third waiter arrives, asks us if we want check… tell him we just ordered. He comes back and says udon to go? No… sigh –ordered seafood udon, it was just fish, not your traditional udon. Was expecting a medley of sorts. Asked for tobiko, ran out… In context, I waited tables in hs and college. My parents owned a family Chinese restaurant. I’m typically not high maintenance when it comes to service knowing how tough it is… but man, worst restaurant experience five years living in the bay

I’ve only been to this neighborhood friendly place 2 – 3 times and each time we just order from their«Small Plates» menu and it’s decent. I’ve tried: Lamb Chops~ Cooked medium rare, with a thin glazed, taste really good. Albacore or salmon Tataki~ fresh and delicious with their sauce and onions. Beef Short Rib~ does not have that sweetness like other Korean BBQ places. It’s just ok for me. Potato Croquette~ taste ok. Age-dashi Tofu~ love it, the skin of this tofu is so good esp. with the sauce. Grilled Asparagus~ it’s ok, kind little for that price tho. Soft Shell Crab~ it was just ok. UNI~ thick but it was just ok to me. Warm chocolate brownie cake, vanilla ice cream~ it was complimentary, pretty good. The place is hole in the wall, when I first drive by I almost missed it, parking is residential, so it’s free and to me it’s not hard to find parking. When you walk in, this place has wine color walls, to your right side there’s black booths with bright lights hanging and the left side has tables, next door is where the sushi bar is at. Our server was nice and attentive. I would give this place 3.5 stars but not a 4 because I haven’t really tried their sushi and being a Japanese Sushi bar, it wouldn’t be right if I were to rate it without trying their sushi. Will def. come back and try their sushi.

Fresh fish. Good price. Felt rushed. Had to ask for extra ginger twice– does not come w/each roll. Drab bathroom. Music was off.

Came here for a friend’s birthday dinner on Sunday, 10⁄12. Food was okay, nothing special. Price wise was okay too, but I was surprised at how much they charged their Ama-ebi(raw shrimp), $ 20 for 4 pieces! That’s only $ 5/piece, it’s hard to find that kind of price so of course I was going to ask for that. Sadly they were all sold out on that also the Uni(sea urchin), $ 9 for 4 pieces were all gone too… We end up ordering the Medium Sashimi(16 pieces), Scallop(4 pieces) and the Buttery Roll. The sashimi was okay, the best was the salmon, there was tuna, butterfish and albacore. The scallop sashimi was pretty good, very fresh and not watery, and the roll was just okay.

I don’t get why this restaurant has such good rating. I am stuck between 3 stars and 2 stars. I guess I’ll settle for 2.5 star. This is my second time at this establishment however I’m not sure if they changed owners because the last time I came here was about 3 – 4 years ago. My boyfriend on the other hand came here twice in two weeks. Came on a Saturday night around 7 and was seated right away. However, it went downhill right away. Server asked us what would we like to drink. Waters and a Sprite. Comes back 5 minutes later with just water and forgets the Sprite. When she came back with it we placed our order for food. We ordered quite a bit for two people but we ended up adding an extra person. Food came out sooo slow. Literally one dish at a time… The sashimi came out pretty late and it’s not even something that has to be COOKED. What is even more interesting is that the stuff we added way later in the night with the Asian waitress came out FIRST! Seriously? She was very efficient and quick unlike the other waitresses. Close to the end of the night our initial waitress comes back and asks us. «Are we still missing anything?» Yes. My amaebi nigiri and another roll… Guess what? she finally lets me know that they were out… What a disappointment. What bothered me the most is that the table who sat down behind us way later in the night got offered water and drinks right when they were seated by our waitress. Seems to me she wasn’t trying to pay much attention to us. If we’re paying customers I would like to receive the same service you’re offering to the other table. When the bill came we paid and all that… The waitress never came back with our change. Not that we wanted change but as a server never assume that everything is for keeps. I am a server as well when customers don’t say keep the change always bring the change back. That was very rude of her. Don’t think we will ever return to restaurant ever again. Cus it seems like they give other people better service than what we got the entire night.

Delicious roll’s. Good service. Great prices. Come here for date night pretty often and I find the quality is a lot better than a lot of places I have tried in the area. Also, make sure you are prepared to walk if you plan to attend a later dinner.

I came here for a second visit last week recently and thought I’d update my review. I’ll keep my star rating at 3 even though it’s more like 2.5. The killer hamachi is still quite good. However, my disappointment is with the sashimi combo I ordered this done. Overall it wasn’t very appealing, especially the salmon in the way that it’s cut and that it didn’t taste very good compared to place I like or at least think it’s decent. Nice service at least from the staff the night that I went.

Decent place . Kitchen had«98» points for being clean which is something really important for these types of businesses. Only tried one menu from this place. «Shrimp tempura roll» it was ok. Tempura was not crunch. Really little amount of tobiko. I tried this place due to the fact that this place has the highest rating around neighborhood ~ However its ok~ i would not give 4 stars. I’ve experienced better places. Therefor I give 3 stars. Not 4. And not surprisingly I can see other people complaining about other menu~ I thing 3 star is perfectly reasonable.

Loved the food! the owner was very welcoming and offered many suggestions/recommendations. The sushi was very fresh and had a great selection. I would definitely go back. The restaurant was very clean and the lighting is dim which creates a nice ambiance. Definitely recommend coming here if you love Japanese food! There is plenty of parking and it is very close to the freeway! The restaurant is a little small so having a large party may be a bit of a wait so it is best to make a reservation. The special rolls were amazing and the sashimi was amazing and just melts in your mouth!

NASTY!!! Came here one time when my class was cancelled just to try it out. This place looks pleasant and that’s about it. If you eat real sushi, you’ll know right away that this place is unauthentic. First off, the chinese waiter with glasses is plain RUDE. I asked him for a straw and before I could finish asking him for a straw, he just walked away. I know he heard me. And when he did bring it, it took him at least 10 minutes, it’s not like it was busy in there anyhow. He seems like one of those waiters that are always pissed off and hates his job. I over heard a customer ask for silver ware and he replied«we don’t have any silverware»…WTF!!! She then said«I just saw you give that other lady silverware» then after he said«give me one second» and walked away. Besides the shitty service, this«sushi» place is so unauthentic. I ordered miso soup and a spicy tuna and crab meat roll, GROSS. The miso soup should have just been labeled«straight up salt water», it was so salty and disgusting. The tuna in the roll looked so old and dark, almost black. The crab was fake crab and tasted so old and mushy and way too salty. On top of that it was rolled like sh*t. Like did the chef even know how to roll sushi? I don’t know what’s worse, the shitty service or the food that’s 80 percent salt. I left the waiter a penny tip. Hope he takes that penny and buys some happiness or something. This place is so unauthentic and straight up DISGUSTING. Yuck! Do not go here!

Miso soup is on point. Really enjoyed the mushrooms and shallots. Doesn’t taste watery unlike other places. Hamachi Kama Bomb. On the smaller portion side but fish came out nice and hot. Fatty and delicious. *would order again French kiss roll Good texture and flavor. Enjoyed the flavor of the fish. Although the rice is a little bit on the mushy side, I would have enjoyed the roll with Salmon teriyaki Fish was good, a little under seasoned. Buttery roll Delicious. Refreshing. Melts like butter. Enjoyable flavors. Rice holds itself really well. *would order again Treasure island roll Can’t miss the mango and cucumber. The scallops get a little lost in the roll. I would suggest a fish rather than a scallop on top, would be bomb with salmon or tuna or hamachi. 49er roll Different. Instead of using a California roll as a base like other places, they use a spicy tuna base which sets it apart from other places. I do not taste the Fuji Apple in the roll but I did feel the crunch of it. I would rather have the lemon instead of the apple. Deluxe California roll Love the red crab meat, adds another dimension of flavor to the California roll that imitation crab does not offer. Again the rice is on the mushy side. *would order again(I did) Overall Good place to grab a bite. Food is really appetizing, service is friendly and welcoming. Décor is very chill and great place to dialogue. My two favorite things were the hamachi Kama and the deluxe California roll.

This is my first time at K’s Kitchen and normally my parents go to their go-to restaurant, but we decided to change it up for the first time. And honesty, I am already blown away. I love their sushi so much better than our go-to restaurant. I think this may be the new place now! The sushi is fresh, and they come out with a pretty good amount of sushi.(I’ve known some places that can be super expensive for that small amount. My mom tried their udon and said it was just okay. So judging from everything, just come here for their sushi. This was also my first time trying the Escalor sashimi, and I had to say that it was the best thing ever! I love the buttery texture of this fish! I will definitely be coming back!
