Just went today and was treated so rudely! My friend was having some sort of civil debate with another patron, and when I returned from the atm(the bartender wouldn’t even let me finish my drink before getting him cash) he kicked us out! I was extremely disappointed in how we were treated.

Intimate, clean, comfortable bar that attracts a more sedate crowd than many others in the neighborhood. It can get quite cozy because there aren’t a lot of seats, but the bartenders are friendly and efficient, and the patrons are somewhat more open, tolerant, and welcoming than those at most other bars nearby. Decent beer and drinks offerings too. Definitely worth a stop if you’re doing a bar crawl through the neighborhood.

This place was the highlight of our day! Great little Irish pub feel in the heart of the Castro. The owner Kevin is so friendly and makes you feel right at home. He knows all of the regulars names and you can tell everyone is happy to be there. If you’re a Guinness lover, they pour a great one! Maybe because Kevin is Irish! Kevin and the locals had great recommendations for things to do. They turned us on to a local art place down the street where we ended up getting a couple pieces. We will definitely come back to see Kevin and the gang when we’re back in San Francisco!

Good dive bar for a good happy hour, bartender expected a tip every time, rest room is a pig pen, but it was close to the hotel

Amazing experience! The bartender was welcoming, friendly and a great source for things to do. Many people are prone to have angst towards tourist but it was the complete opposite. He took the time to give us suggestions and directions. A definite must! Quick walk from Dolores Park.

The Last Call Bar is clean, cool, has an amazing juke box and great drinks not to forget some of the Finest, Kind, Best Bartenders in the Castro. If you read reviews from anyone who gives less that raving reviews on Unilocal,it is suggested that you visit their profile as I did with Lake Y. In his profile it appears that he does not provide positive feedback for much of anything except pizza and Chinese food. With such a discerning palate, I can understand why clean environments, crafted cocktails and sophisticated conversation might put him off. If I stepped away from my seat at the bar to use the restroom and he sat down at it, I would ask to retrieve my seat too So Mr. one star, just go somewhere else. I am sure you can find something wrong there too, as you did with all but 2 of your LAST9 posts.

I love this bar! In the heart of the Castro neighborhood, this place is all about great bartenders, great atmosphere, and great people! The chillest bar in the hood. Come here before/after work to relax. Highly recommended! You won’t be disappointed! ;)

This bar is a delightful little gem hiding in plain sight on 18th Street. The two owners Karl and Kevin are an adorable couple probably in their mid to late 70s and they’ve done a wonderful job in making Last Call Bar comfortable, fun and friendly. Their jukebox is the best, too! Love love love this place.

Moved into the neighborhood a few months ago and was looking for a new after work spot when a friend suggested this place. It is the PERFECT neighborhood bar. Last Call is a safe port in a stormy sea of scene-y, club like bars. Actually the arched wooden ceilings even make it feel kind of nautical… The weekday evening ambience is consistently excellent. Chad, the bartender, is funny and sweet, instantly making you feel comfortable and welcome. The fresh flowers and $ 3 beers on Tuesdays are the cherries on top!

This is a nice, quaint bar. Ironically, the first stop for our District of Castro Pub Cawl. A polite and courteous Irishman captained the bar, taking care of our drinks, including my brother’s Oatmeal Cookie cocktail(which was delicious); and socializing with us from time to time. The original Clash of the Titans was playing on their TVs while we were there, which was fun. This is a nice, mellow place to spend an afternoon.

Anyone can say anything on Unilocal… I realize that. It’s so sad that the owner of Last Call cannot man up to a real critique. His response speaks volumes!

Awesome place to drink. My partner and I had four days in SF and were staying in the Castro. We were on vacation from the UK and on a road trip around CA. On our last day(tue 23÷09÷14) in SF we decided to do a pub crawl round the Castro. It was early afternoon and we wondered passed this modest looking bar and went in for a quick beer. We got chatting to the manager Carl and a local lady who were two of the friendliest people we met on our vacation. They gave us a good education about the local area and before we knew it we had sank about 6 beers each! The bar got busy at about 4pm and all the other locals were equally as lovely. Beer was very cheap(but I understand most places are on Tuesdays in the Castro) and Carl threw in some free shots. The only disappointment was discovering this place on our last day! Would highly recommend and we will be back next time we in town.

Basic little hole-in-the-wall neighborhood gay bar. It’s small. It’s classic. The bartenders are friendly and know how to pour a drink. No frills, no gimmicks, just the most simple definition of «bar» in action.

Last call is a very fun mellow bar to attend. Hands down the bartender Kevin made my experience top notch. I am a visiting San Francisco from the OC and he gave me outstanding tips on the TODO’s of the city, turned up the music for me, and shared a couple laughs. He’s here for his clients. People like him really share the full experience of San Francisco that is world renowned. Thanks!

Stopped in to Last Call mid-day after enjoying some drinks at another bar in the Castro. The bar itself is very small but clean and the service is incredibly friendly. The $ 3 well drinks were what really drew us into this fine establishment and the bartender, comfortable atmosphere and exquisite jukebox collection are what kept us around for hours. The bartender, whose name I unfortunately cannot remember, took such great care of us. He charged both of our phones until they had a 100% charge and graciously dug through his huge box of phone chargers to find an iPhone 5 charger for my phone since I had forgotten mine. He answered our questions about the beautiful bouquets of flowers that stood behind the bar and offered us free caramel vodka shots that were surprisingly tasty! After probably three hours, we left to go grab some food. When we came back, there was a different bartender and the bar was packed so we didn’t go back in. However, we felt incredibly fortunate to have randomly stumbled upon Last Call because we thoroughly enjoyed it!

The bar less traveled. A true«local,» as far as I’m concerned. Having lived in SF while this was called Men’s Room, the updated name gives it a decidedly less sleazy vibe. One of the most fascinating things to me about this bar is the ceiling — there are multiple wooden arches, which do wonders with the sound. And it gives a cozier, lodgier feeling to the interior. And on a chilly SF night, sometimes that’s what you want. There’s a jukebox, and you can actually have a conversation in here.(Unless there is a 49ers game on!) Bartender Chad is friendly, makes good conversation, and no judgments. He also keeps dozing patrons awake. :-)

Last Call is way too nice to be considered a dive bar — I’m not sure why it’s listed as one. The couple of times I’ve been here, I’ve never regretted stopping in. The crowd has always been fun and friendly. Also, the fireplace is a nice touch.

Small, out of the way. You might say that this might have been my Last Call bar in SF when I went bar hopping but it was my Next to Last. It was the last bar I visited in the Castro before I moved on the my Last bar of the night. Since I only had one beer and pretty much soused by then, I can not comment very much for this neighborhood bar that was not very crowded but seemed friendly enough. Think of it this way, I wasn’t assaulted, insulted or taken advantage of despite my inebriated state(not too bad). I will have to check it out again on my next visit to SF!
