I’ve lived next to this spot for about 4 years and I was never inclined to go in. My roommate suggested it for lunch two weeks ago and I’ve been back 3 times already. The pastries are SO delicious and the cheese burgers get the job done. I bought a cheese burger, a pastry, a coconut water and fries and it all came out under $ 10AND it was all really good.

THISPLACEISTHEBOMBDOTCOM I have gone here many times and I have never been disappointed. Lets talk about the food. My favorites are the donuts and their Chinese food. Their apple fritter aka 6inches of heaven. Wow after eating this work of art, I feel motivated to accomplish whatever I set my heart and mind to. Then I ate the Chinese food, and in that moment, I felt infinite. I always get hyped when my friends ask where should we go because I know I am going to get them to go Lawrence Bakery.

I only had a cream cheese pastry which was pretty good, but I’m giving 5 stars because this is the cheapest bakery in the city!!! I work with adults with developmental disabilities who live on about $ 2 a day and I’m definitely coming back here with them.

This place is owned and operated by an adorable couple. They have delicious pastries, bread to die for, and let me tell you about the food. I’ve never ordered anything other than items on the ‘diner’ menu, however you can get a cheeseburger with fries and a soda for under $ 6. This, coupled with the fact that the burgers are all amazing, the fries are outstanding, and at a fast food place you’d be paying more than that(and the time from order to eating is less) it’s win/win. If you’re thinking about grabbing a burger in the area and want to stay economical, check this place out. Oh, and they have an amazing breakfast sandwich with bacon or turkey that is a killer way to start your day. In fact, I’m going over there right now I think to get one. Beats going to one of those other places where ‘fast food’ translates into ‘semi-fast food that sucks’.

I love love love bread, and this bakery without a doubt, reaches my standards and even exceeds it. Everything is so fresh and easy on the wallet, best combination ever. The fries are comparable to McDonald’s, mm delicious. The husband/wife are soooo adorable, friendly and sweet. If you are ever in the area, you have to stop by and try some of their french rolls/pastries/food.

As I grew up in Switzerland — I’m a bread snob. Sometimes I don’t feel like paying a premium for baked goods from Acme, which is exactly when I go to Lawrence bakery. 4 rolls for $ 1, which they bake throughout the day, you can often get them still warm, straight from the ovens. The crust is thin, flaky, crispy, and the middle soft and fluffy. Euro approved, and in my opinion the best bread on Mission street. I’ve also been partial to their apple fritters. They also have absurdly cheap chinese lunch deals, but can’t vouch for them. Support your local bakery, for 5% of the price @Tartine. If only they were open on Sundays…
