It’s an ok place. Cozy and convenient location but nothing about the coffee or the food really stands out

I’ve stopped in here periodically over the past three years. The staff is friendly, the coffee is good and the food offerings are often stale. Stay away from the sausage though, it’s pretty disgusting.

The appeal of independent local coffee shops is usually a combination of good/great coffee and great/friendly service. This place has neither. Mediocre coffee would’ve been okay, but the service is terrible and extremely unfriendly.

This is your next door coffee shop with a homely feel — relaxed and chill. Good coffee and snacks — Super fast internet and good place to get some work done every once in a while.

I was looking for a place to study on a Sunday afternoon and needed a quick pick-me-up as well. Luv a Java was exactly what I was looking for — quiet café, lots of open tables, great afternoon natural lighting, plenty of outlets, and easy parking. I ordered an unsweetened Chai Latte(~$ 3) which was pretty good and was what I needed to continue trekking through my work. Next time I’m home and I need to get some work done, I’ll definitely drop by Luv a Java again.

Cute coffee shop right on the corner of Delores. My vanilla latte was not that great. It could have been stronger in taste. The service was okay.

Great little coffee shop to hang out, grab a bite and do some work(or goof off). Wifi and outlets a plenty. I went on a Saturday afternoon for a few hours and pretty much had the run of the place. The barista was friendly, and you could tell the shop is a local Noe favorite since she knew half the people that came in! I scored a free refill on my coffee, which always makes my day, and the breakfast bagel sandwich was delish.

Bad coffee and worse service — no reason to go here when there are so many better options nearby. We had a macchiato and and almond milk latte and both were undrinkable.

Best(unsweetened) chai latte in town!!! Period. It’s so rare that I come across chai latte that isn’t already pre-sweetened and they make the chai without any sugar or honey. You can always add it later if you want to. The café is spacious with about 10 tables, but it’s never crowded since it’s at a relatively residential corner of 26th& Dolores. They have real food like bagels and sandwiches, too. They also seem to have a «mini library» going on here where you can borrow or exchange books, seems kinda cool. I like to come here and work on my laptop. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Pros: — seating pretty much always available — good drinks(get the chai latte!) and real hot food — speedy, reliable wifi — power outlets Cons: — closes at 5PM

This is a fantastic little coffee shop! To be honest it is probably one of the best coffee shops that I have been to in a long time. Luv a Java? Why, yes I do! Their coffee is delicious and I have not had a tastier mocha anywhere and their gluten free sandwich options are awesome! I’m sure that their regular sandwiches are just as good. The staff is super friendly and they will happily customize whatever you want(I.e. gluten free sandwiches). If you are in the area, I could not recommend this place more!

Would of been a five star but the fact they have certain things on the menu that they no longer serve. They use to make blended cold drinks but all of a sudden stopped making them. I use to order the blended mocha all the time til they told me they no longer make it and will take it off the board which was over a year ago. yet it is still up there. other than that this place and calm and peaceful. free wifi & chill.

I am choosy when it comes to my food. Always excellent in the cleanliness of their preparation areas. Good Score from the health department. Above 90+. I eat here often. I really enjoy the energy of the regulars in the morning. Luv a Java hosted 3 photo shows for me over the past 5 years. Great People committed to the community. Love the kale chips they stock weekly! and they have a free lending library. Padma Jeanne Jennings

One of the few places that offers a absolutely-not-sweet spicy chai latte, just the way I like it. They offer the normal sweet one and a mixed version as well if you’re into sugar. They have a good variety of teas and gorgeous handmade mugs if you’re staying awhile. My go-to, quiet, relaxed, computer-friendly café.

This place makes me feel comfortable. I don’t usually hang at cafes but this place is exceptional. They plenty of seatings and free WiFi. The price is reasonable and the music isn’t ungodly loud. The staff was very nice. And its right in a very quiet part of Dolores street.

Great little spot! This has become my go-to local indie coffee shop. It has that typical funky vibe that most indie coffee shops have — displaying local artists’ work — but also caters to the family crowd with a tiny table meant for the little ones.(It IS in Noe Valley after all.) That said, there’s only been one occasion when I’ve found it difficult to focus because of some rambunctious tots. Otherwise, the place is generally an ideal spot to work. As for food and drink: I’m not a huge coffee drinker, but I can vouch for the breakfast sandwiches. Having just arrived from the east coast, I must say it is SUCH a welcome change to find that spots like this are able to load on fresh produce ingredients. So it probably goes without saying they have tons of veggie options too, but I think they’re worth mentioning. Like the Sun-Dried Tomato Bagel for instance.(It’s exactly what it sounds like + red onions and cream cheese). Or the Veggie Bagel(cream cheese, cucumber, tomato, red onions, and avocado), and the Veggie Garden Sandwich(hummus, cheese, avocado, sprouts, lettuce, tomato, red onions, and jalpeno). With this place in my ‘hood, I run the risk of never making myself breakfast again. Yum!

Great neighborhood café… and free wi-fi! I used my Unilocal app to find me a café near my location and this is what came up. I’m a big fan of neighborhood cafes and this one fits this particular area of Noe Valley. The café is right on the corner of Dolores and 26th so it was easy to get to. The gal who helped me today was courteous and had a good rapport with those coming into the café. There were even regulars who asked if she was new, but apparently had worked at this café before and just returned. There are a variety of coffee choices, sandwiches, bagels, Pleasant Pies, other pastries, cold drinks, chips, even Kale Chips for those of you who are into that. =). It helped that this place has free wi-fi so I was able to hang out and enjoy my Lox bagel & Vanilla Latte while surfing the web and getting some tasks done.

Open early on a Sunday morning, we stopped by Luv a Java to grab some lattes before hitting the road Medium(16 oz) — 3 shots — $ 3.50. Mediums are usually 2 shots so if you’re a 3-shot girl like me, you know you’re going to need that extra Very strong taste & the milk wasn’t as creamy as other places we’ve been to but it wasn’t to the point I needed to add any sugar. Overall have to say it was an A-OK latte Lemon Cake for the BF — said it was very lemonny & good(I don’t do citrus in my food) He had originally tried for a piece of Pumpkin Cake but it had mold on it — but hey, it can happen We’d come back & try again

My mocha was actually really good… but this place gets only 3 stars because of the woman working behind the counter today, July 1, 2012. She was really rude and off-putting.(She made me feel like I asked a stupid question by asking if they do espresso shots, when I have been to plenty of other coffee places that don’t have those as an option. She looked at me and sarcastically said something like«Of course, how else would I make it???») Then, sadly, she was just as rude to the nice older lady that was behind me in line. Even my boyfriend, who was on his phone and didn’t order anything, noted how rude she’d been to me and the other customer. Won’t be going back to this place as long as Ms. Rudeness works there.

We stopped by on a whim because we were in the mood for some espresso and the café happened to be at the corner when we got the craving. We had a pooch in tow so I didn’t get to check out the interior much however, props for Luv a Java for having a menu which I could read from the entrance! No table outside, but they do have a bench for which two people are able to sit and enjoy coffee. Let me tell you, if I ever have a craving at this corner again I will be back!
