$ 15 for eyebrow waxing that went horribly wrong. I usually go to the place that’s close to my house, but on this day it was really late, and I knew that most places were closed, so I decided to go to Chinatown since I’ve seen many saloons and nail places open during later hours because I really needed to get my eyebrows done, which I had been trying to do for the past two weeks, but just didn’t get to do it. I got there right before they closed, and they were servicing two women, but they told me that in 20 minutes they’d see me, so I waited, and 30 minutes later I was taken to a room where two dirty towels lay on a massage table. She proceeded to remove the towels, then I laid down on the massage table. She put some wax on my eyebrows, but when she went to wax it, it felt strange, like the wax hadn’t actually picked up much; as she went on I could feel that there was something wrong, and she kept getting wax on my hair as well. When I got up I felt that she had put wax on parts of my eyebrows that weren’t supposed to be waxed and my hair had wax on it too. She proceeded to cut some of my hair that got caught in the wax, and when I looked in the mirror I didn’t like how my eyebrows looked, so I asked her to make them thinner, which she tried to do, but she kept cutting my eyebrows and then she used a tweezer. When I got up to check, I still didn’t like my eyebrows, but I decided not to waste any more time. I had wax all over my eyebrows and some of my hair, which I did not let her cut any more; and I went to the bathroom to try to wash it off. She had tried to use alcohol to get rid of the wax, but it wasn’t working, and my eyebrows felt hard like there was dried glue on them or something. I didn’t say anything after that because from my experience with Chinese places, is that they don’t try to resolve problems with their customers, and I didn’t want to waste my time, I also felt fearful that they could do something harmful to me(I’ve heard of the Chinese mafia, and my friend knew of merchants and people connected to the mafia, and they are not nice people at all…), so I decided to just write a review here to warn others with my experience.

Michelle did a really good job on design and application. Also she didn’t rush it, instead she took a good 1.5+ hours to perfect it. I found this place through a friend, and her nails still looked perfect after 1 month+. Most of my nails don’t usually last that long, so I’m hopping these last.

I walked in w/o a appointment and she told me to wait 1 hour. The wait is fine with me because I’ve seen the work she’s done and it is worth the wait. I usually go for simple acrylic nails but as soon as I found out there is a nail place in the heart of chinatown I had to try it out. Esp. when she is an expert at doing gel design nails. My gel nail set costed $ 95, but it was a lot of work and time. Which I appreciate her for taking her time to perfect my nails So Michelle won’t rush you out like other typical nail salons. She is really good at what she does! You can see it in the pics! Im really satisfied and I will definitely come back!

Michelle did a wonderful job on my nails and I’ve been back twice already and will be back more. I have short nails so everytime Michelle has to help me put on fake nails. I always do the gel type as it lasts longer and Michelle always does a splendid job! I’m quite picky about my nails and when i get them done I always request to have some rhinestones and bling bling added on. Michelle makes sures that all my rhinestones are on and STAYON. My nails last for three weeks-a month, maybe a month a little over depending how fast your nails grow and the activity you do with them. I am a very happy customer! Oh yeah, My second visit I let Michelle waxed my brows and she did a splendid job as well which I was surprised because my brows are very uneven. I normally go to my regular waxing lady who has done my brows for years but she messed up my brows the last time I went and I was hesitant to go back as well as I had no time to make an appointment at my regular brow waxing place. I explained to Michelle how I liked my brows and the way I want it to be and she did exactly that. Overall Michelle made me a very happy customer and she was really attentive to my VERY needy and picky needs. Thanks Michelle! READ: make sure to make appointments or expect a wait! And if you want a specific design or type of nails done, let michelle know when u make your appointment so that she can schedule you in properly. Walk in’s are welcomed but expect a wait and possibly a long one because michelle specializes in intricate nail art and that stuff takes a long time!

I went here last week with my Mom and I got gel nails. Gel is supposed to last at least 14 days with no chipping which is why I always get my nails done with gel. By the 4th day after my visit, my index finger was chipped. It’s a few days later now(a week and a half since done) and you can see in the picture my nails grow fast but the chipping is very bad. When I have had gel done at other places I never have chipping issues. This was really not worth the $ 45 plus tip I paid. Gel should last longer than 5 days!!! The women are nice but really gossipy here. The experience isn’t anything to brag about and with nails done horribly like this? Go somewhere else.

As you see in the photos, those are my experiences in Michelle’s Nail! She did my nails super good! Be honest, this is the only place that can do the nails so well as I did it in Taiwan! Today is my fifth time here, and I will come back FORSURE. Michelle is amazing. She can do any kind of design that you want and she did it carefully. My friends and I came here many times and we all love it! Must come and try… worth it! Michelle have another store in Oakland too(:

Michelle’s nail is a excellent Beauty salon I have been to. I went there to have jell nail with my friend yesterday. Even thought Michelle was kind in hurry, she still stayed there to do the jell nails for us, very patient and friendly! Totally recommend for my other friends!

I went in to get a mani pedi as a friend was with me visiting for a wedding. Thought it would be fun to go in quickly — It was by far the worst nail experience I’ve had and if getting nails done normally took that long, I would never go. The mani pedi took easily 3 hours and it’s clear the nail technicians don’t know what they are doing. My friend had to have another nail technician show her nail technician how to make the color look darker. After waiting 2 hours and my toes still not done I have to use the bathroom — they proceeded to put used flip flops on my feet and tried to charge me for them. By the time they were finally finished I didn’t care if my nails got marked and bumped I just wanted to get the hell out of there. If you run into this salon — walk the other way!

Michelle(owner) is really informative. My nail technician Yuki was really patient with me. My right hand index finger is missing a third of its nail bed but she was soft when filing the nail bed. I would go back because nails look really natural. I cant post a photo yet cause somethings wrong with my camera but I will next time.
