Yep, they’ve closed down. I called tonight and they’re out of business. He thanked me for my patronage, which made me a little sad.

Uh… what? Tried to go here 630pm on a Friday and door locked no people, no note, nothing… have been here before and been really complimentary but to be honest, it’s annoying what a hit and miss operation this is.

Ought to be 4.5, but I had such a great time I’ll round up. The space is tiny. Seriously tiny. About 10 people can sit down inside, and there’s one more 3-chair table out front. The wine selection is great — no marked up cheap grape juice here; all the selections are very good, and the owner really cares about making sure you get something you like. As soon as I sat down, he started asking what I liked, and what I was in the mood for. After giving him my thoughts, he immediately started recommending things and pouring tastes of them. They focus mostly on reds and champagne — when I was there they had 4 whites, 8 or 10 reds, and I think 6 bubbly. The selection is quite wide ranging — US, Australia, Spain, France, Italy, Argentina… there’s something for nearly any taste. I was a big fan of the Barolo, which had an incredibly fascinating green olive aftertaste. The shiraz, the pinot noir champagne, and the Ribera del Duero were also all very good. At an average of $ 10/glass, it’s quite reasonable for what you get. The only downside is that, as it’s so tiny it can easily become very loud — it only takes one noisy table to drown out the whole place. But the fantastic owner makes up for it!

I was skeptical about a «wine bar» in the Mission, but it is a very nice surprise. I came with a friend after work and we were immediately greeted by Jeanine. We wanted something nice and chilled — a dry white — since it was a warm Friday afternoon. She got us the perfect white wine — it was fruity, smooth, and delicious. The price was reasonable — $ 10 per glass. We met the owner and he is really nice, too. Come early and beat the crowd. I will be back!

My new favorite spot!!! Snug and cozy while drinking champagne … sounds perfect! This place is absolutely adorable! Even the pictures on the wall are tiny. They actually hand out a magnifying glass so people can take a closer look! The cheese plate was delicious!

This place is amazing. I absolutely love how intimate this little gem is. My new favorite home-y spot in SF. All the love of an old-world place with a great wine selection and fabulous atmosphere.

Minimum Wine and Champagne Bar is like a little dollhouse wine bar, with tiny framed pictures on the was and only about 4 tables. A very cozy atmosphere with incredibly nice owners/servers who exercised that perfect balance of being friendly, conversational and helpful while still letting the customers have as much intimacy as possible is such a small space. The pricing for the bottle of champagne we had were very reasonable for being such high-quality. By high-quality, read: we drank two bottles of champagne between four people and I’m not destroyed by that terrible champagne hangover you often get from downing a few bottles of Brut or something. I will definitely be back to this place if and when I’m in the mood for a wine bar type atmosphere. A great romantic spot for dates, too!

tiny wine bar that oozes intimate coziness. despite the size of the place, it doesn’t feel cramped and it’s quiet enough to have a normal volume conversation. tables seating only(no standing). the wine/champagne selection isn’t exactly extensive, but what they have is fantastic. they also have a cheese/charcuterie plate which i didn’t try. the service was the only reason this place wasn’t a five star. everything was great until we got our first drink, after that we constantly had to flag someone down(this is a place so small you can see every table from anywhere) for another round and a check.

This has to be the cutest wine bar I ever did see. On top of that, the prices are very fair and the owners are soooo nice. They walk around & get to know their customers, offering tastes of wine based on what you describe that you like. What we tried was fantastic and the atmosphere was amazing! This place fills a void in an otherwise mostly wine bar-absent part of town. So glad they came to the neighborhood! My liver will suffer as a result!

I was excited to see this charming little place open on 22nd street. After gorging ourselves at Mission Street Food, my friends and I stopped by to check out Minimum. The owner is a charming Argentinean and explained that Mini was an joint venture with Esperpento tapas a few doors down. My friends and I split a bottle of South African champagne for $ 32 and sat outside at a table and watched the crowds on a busy Saturday night. The owner chatted us up and brought us a plate of canapes on the house. We will definitely be spending some lazy afternoon sipping wine in this little gem.

Minimum indeed! It’s a cozy place for an intimate conversation and a couple of glasses of nice, reasonably well prices wines and champagnes. Definitely a spot for you and the object of your affection, I guess I’d consider a double date as well(or more realistically, the first phase of one) but it’s not a place for groups, or really to get rowdy. Minimum people, minimum volume, minimum options. I wasn’t too turned on by any of the food options. Best case scenario, you’ve got the right night, the right person and the right mood, and you’ve found a place that will feel all your own as you spend the night gazing into each other’s eyes.

To say that I’d had a rough day is an understatement. A big one. So, when my boyfriend suggested this teeny tiny wine bar for Friday night drinks, I hedged a little. Was I in the mood to be crowded? Uh-uh. I wanted to relax with a glass of bubbly, and connect with date, who had had a super busy week. I was delighted to find that despite seating only 12 or so people(more if they are itty), this place did not feel cramped in the slightest. I poured my heart out over a couple of glasses – there may have even been a few tears. But I felt completely comfortable drinking and conversing intently in this minimal space. The wine selection is good, and the prices are reasonable. The food options don’t look too promising, but for good wine and good conversation in an unassuming little bar, Minimum works like a charm. It feels like a neat little corner of the world that, despite being on a busy street, is all yours. Yours and his.

What an absolute delight that this place has set up shop in an annex of Picaro tapas. A stellar alternative to Parea, which passes itself off as a wine bar but is really just trying to overcharge and under-pour(yes, i did just use that as a verb) . The owner is from Argentina, where, if Minimum is any indication, lovely canapes are served with every delicious, affordable glass of red wine or bubbly. I particularly like the hand-picked, small selection of interesting reds(each $ 8/glass, which makes the math very easy after you’ve had a few), particularly the Oregon pinot noir and WA merlot currently on the menu. The only downside is that this place seats only 12 – and I am sure it will be only a matter of time before it is packed to the rafters. Go soon and often. Salut.

A new hidden gem opens in the Mission! This is a tiny champagne bar that also serves french beer and wine as well as little picadas like pâté and olives. There are daily food and drink specials(as in drinks or snacks that they don’t usually serve, not as in bargains). The place is cozy and hidden — right across the street from the Latin American Club. It only seats 12 people. This is perfect for a romantical date. Note: the bar is only open Wednesday-Saturday from 6pm until Midnight. They don’t have a phone number listed so it is best to just show up and make out!

The bar is super cute — and yes, it’s small! There are 6 tables, 12 chairs. We went with 6 people and had the hole little place to ourselves, but we went right when it opened. Owner mentioned that they have been packed every night since opening so suggest going on the early side of your night out. Wine and champagne selection is small, but great. And the folks there are so nice. Perfect spot to start your night out.

Um, OK, I’m a little confused because this place sounds nothing like the other two reviews already up. First off, there is no art anywhere to be seen. On one wall is a large mirror. Another wall is the windows that face the street. A third wall has teeny tiny one inch squares that hang artistically on the wall. The rest is just serving area. As far as I could see, nary an artistic thought in the vicinity. Some one else mentions that Little Star is across the street; should I take this as evidence for existence of an alternative universe? I’m pretty sure the last time I checked Little Star is a good seven blocks away at 15th and Valencia. Lastly, there is no way in hell 20 people would fit into this space. While we were there, about seven people were inside and it was crowded. OK, so I agree that flutes of Champagne could be had for $ 8. So same place? Still unsure, but what the hey. I liked it – great atmosphere, cozy. It seems like there are a few kinks to work out in terms of what they offer and how they offer it(do I order at the counter? or sit down and get served? it seems a little of both). The wine suggestion was lovely and I would love to go back and try some more of what they carry. Definitely a repeat, if I can fit inside.

Mini barely describes how small this place is. There are about 6 tables I don’t think that more than 14or 15 people could be here are once. However, the owners are friendly and they have a nice selection of champagne, red & white wine and beer(3 or 4 choices in each category). All the wines are reasonably priced($ 8 per glass) and there are some light nibbles that you can buy to have with your beverage. This would be a good place for two people to start an evening.
