Mission Optometry

I’ve been coming to this place for several years now and Dr. Sanchez is incredibly professional and thorough. She is not the sort of doctor who cuts corners. She’s very warm and informative and always incredibly engaging with my sweet 4-​year old son. He absolutely LOVES to see her every time! Her selection of glasses is solid and her staff is helpful. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Avoid this place. Rude service. Condescending provider. Frames selection is super limited, so you won’t want to buy them from there anyway and they won’t be nice to you once they learn you’re not planning to buy frames from them.

Went here to get a prescription for a pair of EnChroma glasses (which they do not carry) and asked specifically for an eye exam to order a pair of glasses online. Despite this knowledge they did not take my PD (you need this to order glasses) and informed me on the phone later that they ONLY measure PD if you are purchasing glasses through them.
Essentially they did an incomplete exam, took my money, and are holding my prescription hostage to come in for another visit.
Don’t waste your time here. Go to an honest and upfront doctor.

Sec. 456.2 Separation of examination and dispensing.
It is an unfair act or practice for an ophthalmologist or optometrist to:
(a) Fail to provide to the patient one copy of the patient’s prescription immediately after the eye examination is completed.
Provided: An ophthalmologist or optometrist may refuse to give the patient a copy of the patient’s prescription until the patient has paid for the eye examination, but only if that ophthalmologist or optometrist would have required immediate payment from that patient had the examination revealed that no ophthalmic goods were required;
(b) Condition the availability of an eye examination to any person on a requirement that the patient agree to purchase any ophthalmic goods from the ophthalmologist or optometrist;
© Charge the patient any fee in addition to the ophthalmologist’s or optometrist’s examination fee as a condition to releasing the prescription to the patient. Provided: An ophthalmologist or optometrist may charge an additional fee for verifying ophthalmic goods dispensed by another seller when the additional fee is imposed at the time the verification is performed; or
(d) Place on the prescription, or require the patient to sign, or deliver to the patient a form or notice waiving or disclaiming the liability or responsibility of the ophthalmologist or optometrist for the accuracy of the eye examination or the accuracy of the ophthalmic goods and services dispensed by another seller.

This is a wonderful place! Hands down the BEST service I have ever received at an Optometrists office (and I’ve been wearing glasses since 7 years old!) Mary is a gem! She spent a lot of time working to get my insurance to cover my glasses when they were being very difficult. I have a very narrow face and have a lot of trouble finding glasses that don’t swallow my face. They have a great selection and I was able to find a super pair that make me look much more intelligent than I actually am. I will go here for all my glasses and eye appointments from now on. No reason to go anywhere else when you’ve found the best!

Dr. Sanchez is extremely helpful and super friendly. She really cares about her patients and is very informative. She even gave me a free sample of allergy eye drops to try out. I didn’t believe that my allergies affected my eyes but the eye drops totally helped! She was right.
Anyways, if you don’t have vision insurance coverage stop by Payless Optical down the street first. They’ll refer you to Dr. Sanchez and give you a card with a discounted price for your eye exam. Yay!

Dr. Sanchez is really the best eye doctor I’ve been to. She takes her time, explains everything to you, answers all questions in an extremely intelligent and also straightforward way, and makes the whole eye exam experience comfortable and easy. I moved away from the city but still come back to see her whenever I’m visiting and due for a new checkup. The best!

Found this place on Unilocal.Dr Sanchez is great and she feels where I’m coming from. Their eyewear selection is great, lower-​end to high-​end. Check-​in, get free lens cleaning. Quick turnaround.

— progressive lens (because I’m fancy like that)
— damage was only $ 195 out of pocket with the best VSP coverage plan… Could have been $ ⁷⁰⁰⁄₈₀₀ without coverage

The place was immaculate, the staff were wonderful, and Dr. Sanchez was brilliantly exceptional. This is by far one of the friendliest, and most professional optometry offices I’ve ever been to.

Dr. Sanchez is a really nice doctor who actually listened to my concerns and requests. I’m really high maintenance with my eyes because I have dry eyes yet still insist on wearing contacts. I told her all my needs and asked her a bunch of questions about various contact brands that she was very knowledgeable about.
An area I think Mission Optometry can improve on is the quality of service at the front desk. There’s obviously a lot of miscommunication between the receptionists and Dr. Sanchez, which translate to disorganization. Another thing is that I wish Dr. Sanchez took a more active role in telling me information rather than only speaking when I ask the questions.
Also you can arrange appointments on Zocdoc, which gives them the 4^th star. It’s too convenient to be able to book appointments online. I wish more doctors would do that!

Dr. Ruby Sanchez gets 5 stars because she is an extremely caring, professional, skilled optometrist. The staff is very accommodating, speaking both Spanish and English, they take credit cards and are very good with scheduling. I saw a strong selection of designer frames for men and women which was also good. The office is a bit small and intimate, I hear they plan to expand. I hope they keep the good service as they continue to grow.

These people are great they will not only hook you up with the best glasses but the optometrist Ruby Sanchez is awesome. Nice, helpful, knowledgeable and well worth your time, plus great advisors on which glasses to select.

I saw the woman opthalmologist here, whose name I unfortunately can’t remember, but she was great. I had to get a regular vision checkup and a pupil dilation, and I was treated well both times. The exam room was a bit cramped with too much equipment, though, and I had to sit slightly sideways in the chair, which made it interesting to sit face-​forward toward the equipment. That’s why only four stars.
Every time I’ve needed to make or reschedule an appointment, I’ve been able to get one the same week. They take Medicare with a reasonable co-​pay.

I had an excellent visit with O.D. Ms. R. Sanchez. Her tests were extensive and her demeanor calm and professional. Her associates were superb as well, Dr. Sanchez even ran more preventive tests to rule out Glaucoma and Cataracts. To conclude, I will be picking up to new pairs of frames/​glasses tommorow on Sat. Moorning. They are also med-​ical friendly, critical in my case because the VA reserves vision services for 20 year retirees– not the usual patient profile. Thank you Doctor! ps.
