Can I say I have a pie addiction? More specific a apple pie? If your ever in the mission, even if your not, must make it part of your bucket list to try their apple pie, I promise it won’t disappoint. Thin with a slight touch of softness and a hint of sugar sprinkles is how I can describe the crust. Just amazing! And the apple filings is nice and tart

Been on a pie kick lately so while i was in SF, I found mission pies. It seems like they sell more ‘traditional’ pies.(Mind you, I’m used to going to the ‘Pie Hole’ in LA) I got 2 whole pies(banana cream & apple/rapsberry) and they were $ 27 each. Both were really good! Banana cream pie wasn’t too sweet which I appreciate. The crust on the apple/raspberry was a bit sweet but I’m guessing they’re trying to offset the tartness from the fruits but still delicious. Honestly, I can’t tell you which is better because they’re both amazing. It’s really what you’re in the mood for. YUMMM…I’m a fan! Definitely will be coming back to try their other pies. Damn, I should learn how to bake some pies…

Oh Mission Pie. Since I’ve been working near the Mission there’s soooo many places to try. Got to try Mission Pie! The 2 times I’ve been there, once around 4:30pm then another time 1:30pm both times were busy and loud. Good selection of pies n stuff. Almost $ 5 for a slice of pie. It may be a lot of hype, but got to try it at least once. I’ll probably be back to try the other flavors.

Wow… how have I never heard of this place? I’ve been back to San Francisco more times than I can count, and now I’m just discovering this little gem. Mission Pie is THETRUTH. I wanted to take back something sweet that my wife could snack on, so based off a suggestion from my friend, he suggested that we visited Mission and get a pie. When I think pies, I think to myself… if I take an entire pie back, it’s just not going to hold up well on the plane ride. Well, when I heard they have the option to sell by the slice and how tightly they packaged it, I was sold. Their menu is fairly simple, consisting of ten different pie flavors: apple, vegan raspberry, pear raspberry, walnut, sweet potato, cranberry chess, apple blackberry, banana cream, shaker lemon, and pear blueberry. They might be subject to change up their flavors, but the last two times I’ve visited, it’s remained fairly consistent. If you go by the slice, it costs $ 4.00, with complementary Straus Family Creamery organic whipped cream. For an additional $ 1.50, you can add a scoop of organic Vanilla Bean ice cream. Totally worth it if you plan to eat in!

Came here last night for a late-night sweet treat. This place has been on my bookmark list for maybe three years now and i finally got to come! It was a great call. The shop has enough seating for people and I think is the best dessert location for night time around the Mission. They played nice mo-town music last night which set the mood. The menu contains about 6 different types of pies. Me and family ended up ordering Walnut, Banana cream, and Apple. A scoop of Straus ice cream is $ 1.50. The pies could’ve been a bigger slice for the price and could’ve also been a bit bigger in portion. Even though a lie was around $ 3 – 4, I still think the slices need to be a bit bigger for customer to enjoy. I really liked my Walnut slice. It was identical to egg pie/pecan pie in terms of flavor and texture. The banana cream pie was also delicious with it’s meringue top layer. I’m glad I got to finally come though which is important. I would also recommend this spot for people around the Mission. Thanks!

Mmmmmmm… Banana Cream Pies… Finally got to try this place and I wasn’t disappointed! I really like Bi-Rite’s banana cream pie but the pies here are simple and classic. I usually don’t like crusts but I liked the crust for this pie! Also ordered the pumpkin pie and it kind of caught me off guard because it was extremely moist and it almost tasted like flan because the egg taste was very overwhelming. Wasn’t a big fan of this one. This place has very high ceilings so it makes it feel very airy and spacious. I also thought the menu was adorable. The wallpaper was cute and there was a quote that said«Good Food. Every Meal. Every Day» — I couldn’t agree more :)

Mission Pie offers sweet and savory pies in all shapes and forms and has become a pretty landmark location due to its central location in the Mission and its retro feel. The ingredients are sourced locally and the menu rotates depending on seasonal ingredients. The menu is beyond simple with something for everyone. The pies themselves are delicious, with a perfectly cooked crust and excellent seasoning for the stuffings. I was lucky to get a seasonal pumpkin, which was delicious. PROTIP: There is also the option to add a dollop of house-made cream if you so please.

I did not visit the store but was lucky enough to have these pies delivered to our office for coworker’s birthday. I have to admit I was impressed! I believe a good pie has a few criteria. First of all, the pie crust should be crusty and buttery and they delivered on that. Secondly, a high quality pie should have fresh ingredients and in their case, the pumpkin and apple taste fresh. Last but not the least, the pie should not be overly sugary; the main ingredient already has natural sugar and added sugar just enhances the flavor. They definitely deliver on all 3 points. I was in love and I want more.

As I sit at home eating their petite $ 6 take-away«special salad,» which consists of lettuce with chunks of avocado, pickled dates, and thick bacon, slices of apple, almonds, and the ignored bleu cheese dressing(not a fan of bleu cheese), I come to the realization that I should have ordered a pie. But I also come to realize that dates in salads are really tasty. And all those protein-dense ingredients were quite filling for my lightly hungry appetite. Now, I did have the option to choose 1 of their 2 daily savory salads: one was brown rice with lentils, beets, chard, squash, olives, and a herb vinaigrette over some frisée, and the second was a slaw with radish, carrots, sesame seeds, green beans, garbanzo beans, pickled watermelon rind, and tahini avocado dressing. All of their petite salads are proportionally priced at $ 3 for half, $ 5.50 for full. As the name belies, the crème de la crème are the pies. Their BANANACREAMPIE, $ 4.50 for a slice, pairs a luscious banana filling with a fluffy whipped cream. The pie crust was nothing to rave about, as my sweet tooth probably would have preferred a caramelized crust. Mission Pie has taught me that dates in salads are good, as are salads with dates ;) And don’t order regular salads when Mission Pie has so much more to offer.
