I’ve been going here for several years and can’t say enough positive things. They always doing beautiful work and on time. They even fixed a very old photo album even though it wasn’t really what they do, and only charged me $ 30. Good people that do great work.

Don always does a terrific job with the work that I bring him. He has an excellent eye and knows just what to do. I always give him artistic license to finish things off as he sees fit, and he always sees fit to do things exactly right.

I took three prints here to be framed. The man who works here was extremely helpful and friendly, and the results were great. Although I don’t have a basis for comparison(as this was the first time I’d gotten anything professionally framed) the price was lower than what I expected All in all, very pleased, and I will be using this place for all my future framing needs.

My first framing experience with the Mitre box was great. Two weeks ago I submitted two paintings that have been passed down in my family. They were in their original frames which were falling apart. The new frame that they suggested looked phenomenal. This morning I picked them up and was very pleased with the results. When I got home, I notice that they had gone above and beyond in their framing by creating a clear plastic«window» in the backing so that the original labeling on the back of the canvas, could still be seen. I highly recommend using this local gem for your framing needs. If you are local to the Noe/Mission Dolores neighborhood, it is conveniently located on 24th.

This guy is a low key perfectionist. Framing is always more expensive than you think it should be, but his prices were lower than I thought they would be. Worth a trip cross town for this one.

We are so glad we trusted our precious art to Mitre Box: excellent taste, patient, creative, and they produce the highest quality work. We had a very complicated ketubah(wedding contract) made up of multiple pieces that Mitre Box consulted for free about mounting before the art was complete. Mitre Box gave us free supplies to help the final product frame more easily(matte pieces securely packaged for a cross country flight) which we then *lost* at the airport. Mitre Box called us with information for the replacement materials, never scolding us. When we returned, the stand-in matte we bought in Boston wasn’t quite right, so Mitre Box spent another 20 minutes consulting with us and came up with a fantastic solution. In the end, our ketubah calligraphy, hand-illustrated parchment border, insert of the signatures of all our guests, matte and frame are beautiful and meticulously assembled. We know we’ll have this for our lifetimes and pass it down to future generations, so the quality of the assembly of all these pieces, mounting, and framing matters. We looked at cheaper places, but we worried our art might be damaged or sloppily framed. Mitre Box wasn’t the most expensive, but it wasn’t bargain basement for sure. Worth every penny. Mitre Box exceeded our expectations. Highly recommended!

My favorite images beautifully framed and ready for hanging. Intelligent, impeccable and very low key.

Good, peaceful, zen framer-pros, and the place has a nice atmosphere and vibe. For some reason I think they meditate. My only petty little complaint is that they didn’t call me when the job was done, but it doesn’t really matter. Namaste.

Hubbie & I have had 3 things framed here. 1. A painting he loves that I try to ignore. 2. Glass replacement of a painting he did that broke during our move. &3. A picture of 3 whippoorwills he bought me as a first gift. Painting #1 looks so much better now than it did before it was framed. Painting #2 is fine & # 3 looks great as well. He worked with Hubbie to find the right matte paper to work with the frame & the actual picture. I also really enjoy the odd little painted creatures he has in his front window as well as the chandelier in the left most side. The candles are cutely melted over.
