To be clear, I have been waiting 2 years while working with Johnny to write this review; I wanted to be sure that I gave a proper chance and didn’t review while the project was not complete. Not that is it, I would recommend that most people avoid Johnny. I will detail my top 6 reasons. 1) Lack of response and responsibility. Johnny likes to think he is on top of it all, but will let projects go stale until you push him to the brink. When you push him, he will always blame someone else for the problem. When you ask him to show you how it happened he will play a shell game until something else come up. I have a microwave that juts out further than it should because Johnny(or his contractor) didn’t measure correctly. 2) 3 weeks = 3 months. Johnny is chronically behind. He has epic excuses why others made him late, but he never takes responsibility, or moves the date back up to the deadline. To Johnny, a deadline is a proposed date, that he can move later between his vacations. 3) Expect Johnny to disappear for weeks at a time. He is not inclined to understand text or email, nor does he respond when«away». 4) Interaction. Johnny comes on strong at the start and wins you over. I am sure this is why he stays in business. He can be charming when he needs to be, but unless you throw a fit he won’t be listening. 5) Quality. Many of the things Johnny worked on are sub-standard. Lighting, woodwork, etc are all suspect. 6) Spite. I’ve tried to contact some of the contractors that did the work for us(that is now failing) and they are scared to work with us directly because Johnny threatens their future work with him. We spent over 100k on the design, time and materials for our condo. While parts are inspired by Johnny, most of the time I find myself saying«Ugh, Johnny». It is not based on the selection, but on the interaction reminder about how terrible it was working with him. In this day and age, I really hope this is not the standard.

Amazing and experienced interior designer who really exceeded my expectations. He is very detailed oriented and has great fashion sense. The best is he understands your wants and desires for a beautiful living space and is able to create it. He also offers great business and project management skills. The team of people he uses on his projects have high standards and premium quality. I personally recommend that you consider MJM Interiors for your next project whether new construction or a remodel. Johnny is the best designer & his personality is absolutely stellar! His talents include everything from event planning & coordinating to interior decorating to full-on construction. I thank my lucky stars to have found him! He’s professional, tasteful, thorough, reliable, thoughtful, personable & very reasonable. He always goes the extra mile without you having to even ask. Basically, he’s not trying to make his annual income off of you like many of his competitors. I’ve worked with Johnny on multiple projects & I refer him to everyone. If I could describe him in 1 word it would have to be «FABULOUS!» He has my business & my trust. I would never consider working with anyone else!
