This insane zombie orgy splatters real good. And by ‘splatter’ I mean blood sprays, gushers, and fountains, with dismemberment, evisceration and amputation thrown in for good measure. And that’s before things really get rolling.
The dead are coming back to life and want flesh. You can imagine what happens to the meal. Night of the Living Dead: LIVE! is an interactive theatrical production based on the George Romero classic horror films Night of the Dead, Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead and brought to you by the deadicated (pun stolen) folks at The Primitive Screw heads

Comparing this show to other theater is misleading. Think relentless orgy of gore with each climax building on the one before it to reach yet greater heights of ‘oh-​my-​god-​ness.’ And by ‘relentless’ and ‘oh-my-god’-ness’ I mean the warnings on the show’s site not to wear good clothes aren’t to be ignored. Expect at the end of the two hours to be soaked in blood. Not a few drops, not the splash you might get from a water ride, soaked. Some experienced audience members wear ponchos and goggles. If you don’t want it red, don’t bring it to the theater.
As an experience the show is wonderfully over-​the-​top, engrossing and tremendously entertaining. Evaluated narrowly as theater you’d have to say the performances were at best uneven but always enthusiastic and much of the staging was a bit amateurish. But evaluating this as theater is to miss the point. The show is about providing an over-​the-​top zombie experience and it succeeds brilliantly. Expect, in the words of the program, to have your mind blown if it isn’t eaten first.
If you ever got so much as a fleeting smile or shiver from a Zombie movie you need to see this show. And if the show is over, I understand from other audience members you can expect pretty much the same thing from any production by The Primitive Screwheads.
