Came here for the first time yesterday. Andy was super nice and hemmed/​tapered a pair of jeans for me in less than 24 hours. Great experience, I will definitely be coming back!

I’ve used Andy regularly for more than a decade. He and his wife are very nice. In that time, I think I’ve only been disappointed once, which seems reasonable. Once he shortened sleeves a new jacket for me and made them too short; he reimbursed me for the cost of the jacket (although I’d gotten it 70% off on sale, which had since ended). Otherwise, they do a good job on dry cleaning and tailoring (mostly taking in and shortening items). I find them a bit more expensive, however, than another good local place, Crown Cleaners on Church St.

I got a suit, pants, and a few shirts dry cleaned here. I didn’t really check when I picked them up but now that I go to wear them, 2 previously white shirts are milky yellow! One was my favorite best fitting shirt! I’m never going back here…

Very nice people here.
Even though they wanted me to come back in 3 days to pick up my tailoring needs, they did accommodate me with same day service. They even waived the additional $ 3.00 fee that they wanted for same day tailoring.
I paid $ 19.00 for a new zipper to be put on a pair of dress pants. They did a good job with this request. But…
I paid another $ 8.00 to have a patch sewed into my favorite jeans – this did not come out so great…
4 stars for the zipper. 2 stars for the jeans.
Thank god they are only jeans.

This is the best and most outstanding work I have every seen. Andy made a 1800’s reversible vest and top coat with tails that was impecibly done in one day and a half. This was a very unreasonable request but the work was done better than and Italian tailors suit I have ever seen.
He is a master. Just and FYI to Ervinna. Not all stainis come out the next time you drink red wine wear a bib. or put the glass to your mouth.
I send all my things there for the last 6 yrs. including having my sheets washed and pressed. They are always on time and very well done.

For basic dry-​cleaning and alterations this place is tops in Noe. Andy the proprietor is friendly, polite and attentive. He is capable of quick turn-​arounds and is honest about what he can and cannot alter.

Very nice owners. They do leather (send out leather, like everyone else in the city).
A button was snagged (ripped a small hole where the button was dangling) on my glorious and very delicate Phillip Lim cardigan. They fixed it perfectly!!! Not to mention they took off all the balled up parts of a sweater!
Dry cleaning prices are reasonable. I have a few coats and skirts that need hemming. I will update my review then!

Why WHY W-​H-​Y didn’t I read the reviews before I let a friend recommend them to me? Same story as several other Unilocalers… dress pants given for alteration, came back with uneven hems. Even though I’ve paid them, and they should repair these for free, I have SO little faith in their abilities that I am going to a different tailor today and paying again to have it re-​done rather than letting them touch my clothes again. NEVER again.

Gave my pants in for alteration, and the legs are uneven. These were one of my favorite pants, and I paid a pretty penny for them, and now they’re pretty much ruined. It’s a basic hemming job, for god’s sake… how can you advertise that you do alterations when you can’t even get something BASIC like this right!!! I’d give them –10 stars if I could. Not only am I not going back, I’m planning to actively prevent my friends from doing so!

I don’t advise using them for alterations.
This was the worst alteration job ever — he didn’t measure both of my legs and so the pants alterations all turned out to be 1) hemmed way too short & 2) not correct for my leg length (one leg is slightly longer than the other which is apparently very common). In 11 years of pants alterations I’ve had done in San Francisco, and going to at least 5 different tailors over the years, I’ve never had a problem before this.
Even worse, after telling me he’d fix the alterations on the 2 pairs of salvage-​able pants for free (the 3rd and most expensive pair was irreparable and are not wearable now), when I went to pick them up, he then changed his mind and told me he was going to charge me. Not a smart way to run a local small business.

I dropped off a pair of jeans to be shorten and requested next day pickup. I went there the next day and the lady told me it was all done.
I went home to find out that they have «forgotten» to do the job. So they have charged me $ 15 to hang my jeans up in one of those thin wire hanger and put a plastic bag over it.
That is a terrible mistake (I would like to believe it wasn’t a purposeful scam). Sorry, Nouvelle. You are not going to get a 2nd chance.

I have taken countless things here and had no problems. This place is also great for alterations. The owner is precise and has a nice little changing room and area in the back for you to try on clothes for sizing. We go here regularly and will continue to do so.

I needed my gown hemmed ASAP for the holiday party. The did it in 2 hours and did a fantastic job at that.

Totally incredible service! I brought a linen white skirt with stains, a hand made dress and a wool coat to Nouvelle. Everything came back wonderful ~ but what shocked me was how they handled my wool coat. It’s SEVERAL years old and needed to have the buttons secured and get cleaned (we talked this over) but I never expected it to come back looking BRAND NEW! It’s incredible! It’s a United Colors of Benetton coat it’s more than 10 years old! It had to have taken a good deal of work to clean up the wool pellets that it had on it but the total bill was nothing compared to getting a coat like this again.
Thank you! Go to this place, really!
PS — I’ve tried getting this coat cleaned up at another Noe Valley cleaner and it didn’t come out this clean. YEAH Nouvelle, thank you, Andy! I’ll be back :)

I am shocked to find 4 ½ stars rating for this place. I dropped off a white silk cashmere sweater with red wine stain to dry clean here. I showed the store person all the stain spots, he marked them with yellow stickles and assure me that it will not be a problem.
When I picked it up last week, my top still has the red stains and the woman that works there just told me that it was too bad. I just expect honesty, might make me feel better if the first person that I talked to has not promised me that the stain would be remove.

I also had good luck here (and had no trouble understanding the proprietor’s English). I had been neglecting repairs to two sweaters (which were coming apart at the seams) and a suit (whose pockets were ripping), and they managed to repair them all beautifully, and in less than a week. If I were still in the neighborhood, I would go back regularly.

I brought a silk dress in to have hemmed and thought Nouvelle did a great job. They were average-​high priced, but got the job done sooner than I expected. The gentleman who waited on me was very kind, though english was not his first language, so some patience was required to fully communicate what was needed. I would return to this business for simple tailoring needed for my nicer fabrics and designer pieces.
