Olympian Smog Test Only

Totally recommend this place. The young gentleman that works here has manners and is such a sweet heart. He gave me a smog check on my car of mine that had been sitting for almost 6 months. He had said if the smog check did not pass there would be no charge (almost all places charge no matter what). On top of that he was quick. It happened to be pouring that day and he even lent me an umbrella to hang out at a coffee shop near by while I waited! It so great so come across amazing customer service and genuine people.
Turns out, my smog passed! I was out on my way super pleased! I’ll totally be back!

Let me start by saying that i own a 2001 toyota highlander with 180k that squeels like a stuck pig upon startup and the brakes squeek along with mysterious crackles and snaps all day while driving! I got the smog/​registration notice from the dmv one day after my check engine light went on… just my luck.
I pulled into Olympian smog and was greeted by Paul with a smile on his face. He ran the diagnostics and came up with 4 codes (codes = repairs, no codes = passed smog test). Three codes had to do with the air system and 1 was a speed sensor. While looking through the engine, Paul found a hose that was disconnected! ! He said that might fix the air issue and as far as the speed sensor goes, just drive the car 50 mph for 3 minutes (several times) to reset the codes so he can test again. (that was alot harder than i thought)
So i did that 4 times (without miraculously getting killed) and returned the next day so he could test again.
IT PASSED!!!
Paul is a true gentleman with alot of car knowledge. There are no alterior motives here… just honest help.
I will be returning to Olympian and recommending it to people simply based on Paul… thanks again!

At Olympian Smog Test the guy that works there is so rad. I went there 2 years ago and he totally helped me and gave me tips about how to take care of my DMV paperwork. Did you know that if you are a AAA member that you can take care of all your DMV business at the AAA store? It’s Changed My Life.
Anyway, This guy who works here is still there he helped me again today. He is totally a delightful person, and he’s a gamer. He is a straight shooter and super kind. I am looking forward to coming here again in two years when my registration requires another smog test.
the price is $ 79.95 and that is the same price it was 2 years ago.

So, before today I did not know it was POSSIBLE for smog check places to have enough variance between them for one to be worth five stars. Now I know.
I brought my 1995 Volvo station wagon in and it failed the first time not due to any of the test numbers but because it had a check engine light on. The guy who runs the place (he took it over 5 months ago, he’s named Paul) offered me the choice of continuing the test anyway, so I could get some benchmark numbers and doing a retest for just $ 10 or walking away then. When I asked to continue the test, he explained what he was doing, and once he was done he looked at the numbers, looked at my car, and gave his advice for what he thought the problem was and what it would take to fix it and carefully explained what he would do if he was in my shoes.
I took it to a Volvo repair shop, and lo and behold, Paul was right on the nose correct about the problem (a broken front Oxygen sensor) and about how much it would cost to fix.
24 hours later, I was back for the retest, which was quick and easy, and he was friendly and inviting of questions.
One note: the $ 69.95 cost doesn’t include the actual registration, which is another $ 10 — be forewarned.
His value-​adds were enough that I would go back there even if it wasn’t right next to my apartment or if another place was slightly cheaper.
