Original Buffalo Wings

Disappointing wings. Sauces were good but wings were really scrawny and dry with little meat. Extra star for them giving me 18 wings instead of 12 to compensate for the gamey wings

Ordered for delivery. Food was horrible– burger bun was hard like it was frozen and then microwaved, patty was like burnt rubber. Overall the food was consistent with other negative reviews and I would not recommend anyone eat here.

Do not fall for the nostalgic diner décor expecting a quick lunch service.
We were on our way to a show at the Palace of Fine Arts Theatre and this was one of the closest restaurants within walking distance. I recommend a prepackaged sandwiches from the Walgreens across the street over this place.
Service is painfully slow — we were the only customers and it took more than 45 minutes to cook up sweet potato fries, gyro, and a pulled pork burger. The food was not hot.
They did not have duck wings, and did NOT have milk shakes — how can a diner not have milk shakes?
To top it off I got terrible food poisoning. 0 stars if possible. The health department really should shut this place down.

Took 45 mins for the first plate to come out. Every 5 mins another plate came out for our table. Horrible service. Burnt my omelet too.

First time to write a review on Unilocal and this is due to a really bad experience we had. We have ordered from this place because we decided to give it a try with the expectation of some decent chicken wings. It was bad… Like really bad. Bad from the moment we ordered to the moment we ate. Wings were hard and terrible taste as if they reheated them and before that they were fried as they were frozen. You could see the darkness around the bone from the frozen blood. Their size was super small too. We ordered fries and celery so we can make it up to 20 $(their delivery minimum). Fries were super cold and hard. Only good thing was the celery. Really bad experience. Ruined our night for sure.

They spelled my name incorrectly in cheese triangles. Jared was wrongfully adjusted. This is not a tip.

Been coming here for years. Original spicy have crack n em I swear ! Lemmon pepper yummy too. I took away a star because the service is wack sometimes.

Omg the Knickerbocker burger it’s a must try … my place to go when I work 24 hr. … open late on the weekend til 3 am.

Pretty solid hot wings. I haven’t been impressed with any of the other flavors though. The Parmesan garlic are particularly bland. The lemon pepper were okay.

I’m from New England and have frequented the Anchor Bar, you guys are NOT the original. Think about the name «Buffalo» and realize that not only are you frauds calling yourselves Original but your wings are awful. Sauce is not homemade, but store bought crap.

I liked this place well enough but not sure I’ll be coming back here. I wasn’t content with the quality of the chicken and of the three wing sauces I tried, really only enjoyed the Habanero Lime (which I recommend and wish could be smothered on everything here).
I tried the Buffalo Mushrooms which were not breaded and somewhat unimpressive and I tried the Cheez Fries which looked gross when they laid it on the table but ended up actually tasting pretty good.
Beer wasn’t too expensive but overall, I was definitely expecting more from the descriptions on the menu. Service was good, but not great. I found myself waving people down for attention a few times.

They have the best wings I’ve tried in the city, but their’s still room for improvement. Overall pretty good.
One of my chiefest complaints – and perhaps it is coincidence – is that 3 times over the last 2 years my credit card was compromised within 1 week of ordering from here. Not blaming the business if it did happen, as I’d chalk that up to an unscrupulous employee. Nevertheless, I will continue to order from here, but CASH ONLY!

First time coming here, and probably the last. I’ve waited a few hours after my experience here to sufficiently cool down and give an objective review — the highest I would give is a 1.5 stars for our meal here. We were enticed by signs advertising cheesesteaks, wings, and burgers — a seemingly quick in-​and-​out place for lunch, albeit not the most healthy option. Upon coming inside nothing was that bad — the prices are reasonable for the location (and certainly less than others in the Presidio). Sports are on the TVs and it’s a very diner-​esque feeling.
So, the negative events started happening hard and fast from the start.
–Waited about 15 minutes before anyone came over to us for the initial meet and drink order. We had already decided by this time, and placed our order quickly.
–I ordered the Buffalo Burger with no mayo. Apparently they do sell buffalo burgers (burgers made out of a buffalo), but this was not it — simply a beef burger with buffalo wing dipping sauce. So misleading (buffalo meat was an extra $ 3, if I had known this, I would have just specified it — maybe it’s my fault for not making it clear initially).
–I stated ‘please do not put mayo on it’. The server wrote it down on the order slip (I saw it when we were paying). The burger came out with mayo on it. I asked for new bread and no mayo, and the whole thing was taken back to the kitchen to make the change. I would have liked to start eating it and then incorporate the new bread into my half-​eaten sandwich, because…
-…it took literally 30 minutes for the food to come out. I know people on Unilocal tend to exaggerate, but we spent almost an hour and a half here for lunch. For LUNCH. The place was barely half full and even after we were done, I had to go get the bill for our group. When my order came out wrong, I had to get up and go to the other side of the place to get their attention — they came around a couple times for water refills, but that was it.
–my burger was well done. Enough said.
On the plus side, the avocado was fresh, and my burger (when the error was corrected) was not terrible. My friend got the buffalo chicken tenders, which were also not bad. My other friend got the Philly Cheesesteak and said it was ‘fine’. End of review.
Needless to say, not a good place for a quick lunch. They do have a unique menu item that I would like to try — buffalo duck wings. However, this place may be best for during a sporting event where you have more patience and time to spend. I live and work in SF now, and I DON’T have all the time to waste on incorrect food and poor service.
I will say that the staff WAS very nice and that was one of the positive points of our experience. Nice/​friendly staff giving you poor service is enough for an extra half star — 1.5 stars overall.
UPDATE /​ADD ON: I forgot to mention that I checked in here and attempted to use the Unilocal offer that was available (free side of homemade chips). I was informed that this was only available for when the manager was physically present at the restaurant. Don’t know exactly what to make of that.

We’ve only ordered delivery from here and I think tonight’s the last night. The food always arrives lukewarm/​cold, doesn’t taste right, and the piéce de resistance — I ordered my grilled cheese tonight sourdough with cheddar and the one that arrived, barely «grilled», had nasty fake American cheese inside. I barely ate any and threw the rest out.

I ordered a Buffalo Burger for Mom… she loves it alot and i ordered Buffalo extra hot and lime flavor for myself really happy with the taste although the chicken texture is not super juicy but crispy with hot and spicy taste as expect!!!

I’ve been driving by this place for years wondering why I’ve never tried it. Other than the big sign, I never hear too much about it. So I stopped in…
The people are nice, the service is ok, the food is decent. They offered to refill my soda a couple times which I appreciate. The wings were well… kinda flat. It seems like they took a regular boneless wing and sliced it in half to save money. Lol! Maybe it was just my batch.
The fries really were good. Nice, fresh-​cut, crispy, and golden brown. I got the garlic fries which was way too much along with my garlic parmesan wings. A couple of cosplay vampires jumped out the window, I swear.
I’m used to that watered down garlic from a jar on my G-​Fries. These were like a Gilroy garlic geyser! Wow! Punch in the mouth! I couldn’t get kissed for days afterward! If you’re into that kind of thing, bring your breath mints and leave your date at home.

Lemon pepper is super sour. It’s like eating a lemon.
Original spicy is not bad.
Calamari and breaded mushrooms are good.
The homemade sweet ice tea is delicious.
I think the best part is that you can eat rice with your wings!!!

We ordered delivery from here, and got the boneless buffalo tenders. My friend cut into one and it was totally raw on the inside! Thank god we happened to notice before eating them because more than one was completely raw. We called the restaurant and complained and they didn’t believe us, but said they’d send a driver to come get the tenders and recook them. We had a birthday party to go to, and didn’t have time, and said we just wanted a refund. They said they’d only refund 50% if they didn’t actually see the chicken. So we emailed pictures, and they still didn’t refund our whole order.
Terrible food, and even more terrible customer service. Will not be ordering from here again.

I never write bad reviews, but after ordering delivery from this joke of a restaurant, I felt compelled to. Here is why:
Food: Totally NOT edible, plastic package was badly melted into the food, it was disgusting and totally unsafe to eat. I’ll try and post a picture.
Delivery time: 2 hours when 45 – 60 minutes was quoted, plus they charged a $ 3.00 fee on top of the minimum which most others do not.
