We had a great time! We’re two tall people and rented bikes for two hours it was a blast of a night :) Pretty good rates for renting bikes too — 14 for an hour 18 for two hours

I came to San Francisco for the day to rent a bike. I rented from the marina station. I was disappointed with the quality of bikes. They were pretty trashed but functional.
However, the attendant at the station made the trip worth 5 stars. Hannah quickly gave us all the information we needed to go across the bridge and to Sausalito. She gave us many suggestions on places to stop, eat, and hang out. She was also really enthusiastic and you can tell she has done the trip herself many times. She even had us prepay to make it easy when we returned the bikes. Although the bikes were worn out and I was hesitant she insisted on pumping the tires and giving us bikes she had just cleaned and lubed the chain.

we rented bikes to cycle through golden gate park. Ron helped us to prepare the trip and find the best locations, also the other guy from the staff was extremely friendly and supportive. the bikes were in great condition and the trip was very beautiful and highly recommendable. in the end, when we returned the bikes, we even got quite a discount :)!

Nonsense. Don’t bother. You’re much better off taking a walk. I’m an athlete and had trouble peddling the dang thing.

The person who rented to us was very nice and personable. A helmet should be required, not optional. The bikes need to be serviced. The tires were close to bald, I’m surprised we didn’t have a flat. The ride to Sausalito was great. Take the ferry across unless you want to bike up a very big hill!

We rented our bikes for the morning and biked through golden gate park, up to the cliff house and back. Amazing memories made! Ron helped us and was nothing short of professional and friendly! A San Francisco must-​do!

We rented bikes at the GG park location and asked very clearly if we could drop off the bikes at one of their other locations (Marina). They said yes… but made NO MENTION of the extra fee for dropping off a bike at a location other than where you picked it up. We were stuck with an extra $ 10/​bike charge at drop off (after threatening to charge us even more if I didn’t fork over my credit card then and there). We tried explaining this to the guys at the Marina drop off, and discovered that «this had been happening all day and we’ll have to talk to the other guy.» Still charged us, even though they admitted it was their fault.
Next time I have guests in town, we will be renting from another company. The initial charge was on the high end for the city, and the hidden charges at the end are ridiculous. Go rent somewhere else!

Don’t even bother with this place. Everyone working there seems spaced out. A group of us returned our bikes. As the person was checking us in he grabbed a bike from another area where someone else checked it in. That bike didn’t have a key for the lock. They charged us for the missing key. The person seemed so out of it that he must have been either tired or on some strong medication. As we all testified that our bikes were returned in a different area then the one that was missing a key, they threatened to deduct our deposit.
We took our bikes on the ferry and had a fun time but the bikes were not in good shape. Be careful because some bikes seemed unsafe and I wouldn’t trust them to help you in case anything happened.

Your idea of service is terrible. After encountering the first kiosk at the entrance to Golden Gate Park, we expressed interest in a Tandem bike (that location was out) we were told to take a 15 min walk (more like 30) to their second location inside the park where we were assured that «yah they had plenty» we get there and we’re greeted by an apathetic young lady who didn’t know what they had and whose boss was way too preoccupied with is fancy race bike to come help us himself (grow some balls, chief) bottom line find somewhere else to rent. These guys downright suck.

Wow, we tought that it was impossible to screw up a bike rental service, boy were we wrong. We eneded up paying A LOT of money for renting half-​broken bikes. The person in charge there was completly uncappable to explain us the route and lied to us about the distance and time needed. I can imagin that the ower is lauging himself dead in his X6 while you rent a bike from his company. Don’t go there, its a scam, the highlighted texts in the contract say so! Just wait till you sign the contract, the kind employee will remind you that you are screwed.

Great experience riding the Golden Gate Bridge ! TT and Roy were really helpful getting us ready to go on the bikes ! Parking rates were really good in comparison to the other places around us, would def do again !

This was one of the best days our family has spent together in San Francisco. We have one toddler and one six-​year-​old. They both had a wonderful time for our two-​hour tour. Roy, Anthony, and Blake were excellent with their customer service, and the bikes were in great shape. The rates were so reasonable, too! I will definitely be taking my family here again. What an amazing experience. Both my partner and myself came to SanFrancisco for a conference and since we are both avid road cyclists, we wanted to see some sights via our favourite mode of transport.
We came across Park Wide Bike Rentals & Tours, as we walked along the city streets. They were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The rates were reasonable and the bikes top notch. Since we are cyclists the condition and the gearing of the bike is something that we look at and were really impressed by the bikes we were given to ride. Roy McDonald who works with the company was a great source of info for directions around the city, as well as very knowledgeable and helpful when it came to the bike rental. He was fast and efficient.
I would definatley recommend this Bike Rental company for its overall service, as well as the quality of bikes and pricing. There’s no need to look any where else… These guys are top notch.
Grab a bike from Park Wide Bike rentals and have one of the best experiences bike riding the streets of SanFran!

Don’t rent at Park Wide Bike Rentals– there are other close options.
Rent somewhere else. Next time we will be using another service like (1) Blazing Saddles (2) CityRide Bike Rentals (3) San Francisco Bicycle Rentals.
The bikes are in bad condition and the staff is RUDE. Our family of five rented bikes to go along the Embarcadero to Crissy Field. First of all, they didn’t have enough helmets for all of us. The bikes were not in great condition and the chain on one of the bikes broke while riding on a flat bike path. When we finally made it back, they charged us $ 35 for the chain. When we asked for no charge because we didn’t do anything wrong, three employees came over and were extremely RUDE. Not only, did they not express any empathy about trip disruption, they were accusatory about the break and shoved the contract in our faces and threatened to charge us $ 65 for the chain. We checked on line a standard bike chain goes for about $ 10, and it is an easy fix. Some sort of hocus pocus on that pricing. Don’t waste your energy and money on these guys, enjoy the city scape on some other services’ bikes.

They first gave me a bike with a broken bell, so I asked for one with a working bell. This brought out a tired, scratched up bike with handles that were sticky from being so worn. It looked like it was going to fall apart so I got on to ride it and make sure everything worked. As soon as I did, I was asked to get off since you weren’t allowed to actually ride the bike until you got off that area/​sidewalk. As we rode the bike down past fishermans wharf, I realized that the front brake didn’t work. Not only didn’t it work, it wasn’t even screwed in! I’ve actually put together bikes from scratch before and could see that the rubber pieces were approximately a half inch away from the tire. Not a hard fix– just requires tightening and adjustments. I decided to keep going since I didn’t want the whole day ruined and spent going back and dealing with this.
So we kept going which was probably a mistake on my part since I almost died without the brakes working on the steep decline from the bridge down to Sausalito. When we went back and told them about it, they changed the story into seeming like I broke their «checked bike.» They said if it really was broken right away, I would have come back or called them. They pointed out that in the contract you sign, as soon as you leave the premise, they’re not responsible for anything broken on the bike. It’s true, I did sign that contract but you have no way to ride around and check anything since you’re not allowed to get on the bike until you cross embarcadero.
This org is completely unapologetic about the state of their bikes, and the woman who worked there told us straight up that these are old bikes and it’s my responsibility to check them before you take them. Actually, take some pride in your company and check your bikes before you kill some poor kid.
Anyway, they did me a HUGE favor and didn’t charge me for the broken brake.
So readers, wear your helmet, tuck in your pants and go across the street to blazing saddles. With any luck, the quality assessment team there thinks it’s important to check brakes!

I found the biking experience fun, the bikes worked well enough for the purpose. The gears did not transition very smoothly, but for a leisurely bike ride they were fine. Golden gate park and the routes that park wide suggests are wonderful!
My problem with this biking company was dishonest pricing up front. We were told apparently by a manager Rich that the bikes would be $ 9/​hr. My friend and I were shown a great trail by another bike guy that could be completed in an hour that took us throughout golden gate park. Upon returning we were told that THE MANAGER lied to is about the pricing. The girl collecting money at the end informed us «yea, he tells us to say it’s $ 9/​hr, but if you read the brochure we gave you it’s actually $ 14 for the first hour.» Being that it was a $ 10 difference we just paid up, but this is crappy business practice and if you can rent bikes elsewhere like blazing saddles you will not feel screwed over at the end.

Golden Gate Park is 3 miles long so taking it by foot was not the best way to explore for us so after the Science Academy we decided to rent a bike. The staff was efficient and quick to get us on our way. We opted for the insurance which was an extra charge, but you never know what might happen. The bikes are equivalent to a rental car– pretty beat up and not luxurious by any means, but they served their purpose. We rode around the park with ease and locked the bikes up when we made it to Ocean Beach. Return was easy and quick. The rental stand at the GG Park in conveniently located by restrooms and a few food booths.

At the Marina District, the staff, all delightfully bearded, tattooed, Pacific Northwestern-​esque, were helpful, explanatory and detailed. They offered maps, directions and tips.
Park Wide Bike Rentals do get pricey. For the two-​seater buggy bike, it’s 25 $ per hour. If you’re at the Marina Green and Yacht Club area, around Fort Mason, you’ll swoon over the views, a brisk breeze sweeping past your sun-​drenched skin. Wear your SPF! It’s crowded and lively on Sundays, as per the usual. You can stop along the trail. The photographs will be lovely. Not just for tourists. Stop for a sweet at Dynamo Donuts, housed in a tiny, unassuming brick hut of sorts, blink and you’ll miss it. They are the end of the front Marina green, right across the street from the Palace of Fine Arts. The donut choices are off the wall and random. Secret locals treasure!
There are a variety of trails you can opt for with your bike rental. There is the Crosstown Route, which is around Alamo Square & City Hall or the Castro & the Mission, with potential stops along the way like the Haight-​Ashbury, The Painted Ladies, the Ballet & War Memorial Opera House, the classic Castro Theatre, the Mission District, Balmy Street Murals, Mission Dolores and Union Square. This is the tour best for city cyclers that are savvy to fast paced traffic.
The Coastal-​Presidio Loop is a great choice for those who are used to hiking and climbing, and don’t mind a little bit of off-​roading. On this tour, you’ll be able to see the Cliff House & beautiful Lands End, China & Baker Beaches, The Legion of Honor, of course, the Presidio, Mountain Lake, Sea Cliff, Arguello Gate, the Lincoln Golf Course and the Golden Gate Bridge –which, psst, don’t tell, isn’t golden! But a majestic red! *jazz hands!*
The most famous and popular bike ride tour is the Bay Trail Route, with a focus on Chinatown & North Beach or the Marina & the Palace of Fine Arts. This route offers sites and places to peruse, according to which area you are in, like the Ferry Building, Farmer’s Market, The Embarcadero, Fisherman’s Wharf, Ghirardelli Square, Fort Mason, Crissy Field, Chestnut Street, Fort Point and of course, the Golden Gate Bridge. If you want to stop along your route, you just use the U lock.
For park-​lovers, try the Golden Gate Park Loop. There is the optional Speedway Meadow Cutoff or the Great Highway and SF Zoo Spur. You can stop and smell the tulips near the Dutch Windmills in the middle of the park, plus, you’ll have access to the California Academy of Sciences, Helmann Hollow (Speedway Meadow), the de Young Museum, Conservatory of Flowers, Music Concourse, Stow Lake, and the Bison Paddock with some of the last bison in the United States roaming in a nice green and open space.
If you’re picking up your rental in Marin, you can choose between a Mill Valley or Angel Island State Park Spur. Redwoods all around! You’ll cross the Golden Gate Bridge, Sausalito, Old Mill Park, Tiburon, Angel Island, and then you’ll return by ferry from either Sausalito or Tiburon. This is a great choice for families or groups. You’ll get a good dosage of nature and space for exploring and photography.
If you want to ride only around Golden Gate Park, the second largest U.S. urban park, there’s a classic bicycle route, or the Surrey Route.

The Golden Gate Park bandshell and Marina Green locations offer Quad Cycles for two persons, 25 $ per hour, Quad Cycle for four persons, 35 $ per hour. A Conference Bike, that seats six, is 70 $ per hour. The Conference Bike is shaped almost like a humongous tarantula.
If you want insurance, it’s a flat fee of 10 $, and, if you’ll be out for a long time, is a good idea. The insurance covers flats or other on-​the-​road troubles. You’ll provide your identification and payment method, if card, and sign documentation and decide whether or not you want the insurance prior to leaving with your bike (s). You’ll only be charged once you return and your ride is complete.
