*THISPLACEISCASHONLY* Sweet proprietor, quick turnaround time, good/personalized service. Parklane is not the cheapest dry cleaner, AND they’re rather frustratingly cash-only(this is too pricey to expect me to have so much cash…), but they are so sweet and fast and they do a good job with special items. For my ordinary dry cleaning, I use Washio — but for repairs and nicer garments, Parklane is really very good. In my most recent order, I brought a wool/leather overcoat and a pair of jeans with a busted zipper to be cleaned and repaired, respectively. It was a Monday and I needed the coat back by Wednesday, but I told her no rush on the jeans. By Wednesday, she had the coat AND the jeans done. They had to completely replace the zipper, and they used a sturdy, high quality option. I appreciated also their work on the coat — I didn’t have time for a full cleaning because that would require special leather treatment that takes about a week, but they steamed it twice and it smells much better. The coat was $ 10 and the new zipper(again, totally new zipper, not just a pull added) was $ 35. The latter would be kind of a lot for my average jeans, but these jeans were WAY more expensive AND I had gotten a full refund on them due to the zipper breakage… so I didn’t mind. The hours are good and I’m glad that I feel like I can trust them with items I care about. I’ll definitely be using them for more repair work in the future!

Yvonne is a magical sewing goddess. She made the costume in my picture! She’s not cheap– get over it. If you don’t want the best, go somewhere else. If you want all your clothes to come out looking like a million bucks, suck it up and pay a little extra to have Yvonne work her magic.

DRYCLEANING (3 stars) Address on Unilocal has it twisted. It’s in 455 but facing 1st. It’s tiny, not so busy, and one lady working the front. Q: how much is it A: what do you have Q: just my work slacks. How much A: $ 7(each) I’m giving you a discount rate Q: $ 7!!! A: we only take cash here Q: what’s the turn around A: turn around? Q: when can I pick it up A: Friday morning Do you really want to know what I was thinking? My regular place that does my dry cleaning charges $ 4.50 per pants and that’s not a discounted rate. When did $ 7 become the«discounted» rate?! What kind of discount is that? What kind of discount does she give other people? I bet that’s the rate and she uses«discount» to make you feel special. Oh and it’s Cash only. Hmm go figure. Testing out dry cleaners close to work might not be ideal for my wallet. Convenience and quick turn around are nice entities BUT for $ 7 a pants… I can hold off wearing dirty clothes until I’m able to get to my regular dry cleaners. Lol. I’m sure they do a swell job, can’t wait to pick up my stuff to find out. Will I be back? Not sure. Until the next review…

I’ve been going to Parklane Cleaners for 15+ years. Yvonne does a fabulous job with dry cleaning & alterations. She does such a great job I take my dry cleaning all the way from the East Bay to SF. I highly recommend!

I work some pretty crazy hours, which translates into not being able to pick up my dry cleaning. So I decided to give Parklane a try because it’s in the same building. I recently brought in a pair of jeans and a jacket to be altered, and they did an awesome job. The lady who works here insisted that I come back for a second fitting«just in case» and matched up the seams and stitching perfectly. My favorite cream Nannette Lepore moto jacket now fits like glove… Thanks Parklane!

This is a great place if you need something altered in a pinch. I do agree with Kyla B., she does deserve four stars… but since I base ratings on price, I have to doc a star. The owner is very nice and incredibly friendly but it’s hard to stomach $ 7.50 to replace one button on a pair of trousers. I guess I learned my lesson… I shouldn’t have been lazy. Next time, if it can wait, I will just do the minor repair at home.

After having 3 bad experiences with another dry cleaner close to my office(and I’ve never really noticed a bad cleaning job before that), I tried out Parklane, which had no previous reviews on Unilocal.I expected the usual cluttered space with an indifferent person at the counter with poor English skills, but that’s not this place at all. It’s a clean space with the one woman who runs it. She’s all smiles and welcomes you as soon as you come in. She was super helpful and offered suggestions for each of my pieces and pulled a few strings(maybe not the best metaphor to use) so I could get them the next day since I had missed the time cutoff. When I picked them up, she pointed out where she had hand pressed a few things herself«to make them look nicer», which they did! AND, they were actually clean — which I found out isn’t always true of things you pick up from«cleaners». I think she also does alterations.

Yvonne is the best! Her drycleaning service is outstanding. Her attention to detail and requests is to be commended. I have been a client of hers for over five years and would not ever consider going to anyone else. She also does alterations. Her work is this area is matched to that of her dry cleaning service. The new location is a block away from the Transbay terminal.

The speedy friendly and quality service should warrant a four star rating for Parklane. But you pay alot for that servce. I can get the same speedy, friendly and quality service for a little more than half the price at Cable Car on Union Square!
