In the neighborhood, so dropped by for lunch. The food is your standard, unpretentious American lunch fixins. The menu is fairly extensive with lots of burger, sandwich, brunch options. The staff are nice and food came out super quickly which is a plus. I got a chicken caesar salad which was sizeable and tasty, but nothing remarkable. Chicken was warm and juicy, salad was not overdressed and cheese was mixed in or not distinguishable from dressing. Came with a few slices of buttery garlic toast instead of croutons which I can get behind. It’s kind of pricey for what you get. For good service, solid quality, fast food this is a great spot!

Great place to grab lunch. They have alot to choose from. I’m on a bland diet so a turkey sandwich was perfect for me. My husband got a BBQ chicken sandwich he said it was good. Service is fast! Small place but great for a quick bite. I love fast service

My sister and I stopped here for breakfast before her doctor’s appointment at Mt. Zion. She had the chorizo super breakfast burrito and I had a chicken pesto sandwich. Since it was our first time there, the staff was super friendly and attentive. They were more than happy to give us recommendations. Both of our meals were extremely delicious. The ambiance was very basic but clean. I’m giving this place 4 stars only because they don’t take credit/debit.

Look’s like Pete’s is gauging their customers on sales tax. My bill for a pastrami sandwich and coffee was $ 9.24. I was charged sales tax of $ 0.90 which makes the sales tax rate 9.7%. The sales tax in San Francisco County is 8.75%. The pastrami sandwich had a thin slice of pastrami and the rye bread was toasted but the toast was cold.

Big sandwiches. Cheap. Get the roasted turkey(house special #1) on sourdough roll. It’s a mix of light and dark meats, and the turkey is roasted in-house. Not sure what the deal is with all these Unilocalers complaining about rudeness. I walked up to the counter, ordered my sandwich, paid for it, and ate it. How someone could possibly find themselves in an altercation with the help is beyond me.

I came here and got a BLT and it was not bad but for what I paid, I expected that it would at least have a bit more bacon on it. It was not bad but I did not know there was mayo on my sandwich so I was not all that happy about it.

I stopped by here today after a medical appointment and brought a Philly cheese steak from here. It was great. I love how the steak and cheese melt together perfectly along with the peppers. This is my second time eating here. I love how they wrap it in foil so it was still warm when I returned to work to eat it. I highly recommend this as a great lunch spot in the City.

My meeting at Mt. Zion was cancelled, so I decided to grab some lunch to go since food at the cafeteria at work can get a bit… tired and unappealing. Since this was right across the street from my shuttle stop, I decided to go here. There was lots of choices on the menu, made to order breakfast, burgers and hot items. I decided on the Turkey, Avocado and Swiss on Dutch Crunch. The bread was soft, not hard. And the sandwich was good, but basic. I’m used to having garlic spread which they don’t provide here. But, none the less. It was a good sandwich. If ever I need to go down to Divisadero again, I’ll try some of the other items on the menu.

Good rice krispy treat, ok prices, and friendly cashier! And they didn’t kick me out(before I gave them my business) when I was using their doorway as a way to shield myself from the cold gusts of air while waiting for MUNI.

Sandwiches are delicious with fresh ingredients and reasonable price. The staff was very polite and helpful. Our food was ready quickly. Great experience eating here. Only thing to watch out for is that it’s cash only.

Huge portions. I got the BBQ Chicken sandwich and it was solid. I’ll give it a 4 star rating for the size, and a 3.5 for the taste. I’d try another sandwich next time, itll probably give me better results as most deli’s aren’t know for their BBQ sanwiches

Delicious chicken pesto sandwich! I asked if I could substitute sourdough bread for the ciabbata — no problem. Hated asking during the busy lunch hour, but I don’t like thick bread on a sandwich. The pesto was wonderful! Plus, lots of all-white meat. Very crowded, as it was 12 sharp, but that’s when my husband’s procedure at nearby UCSF campus had ended, and he had to stay there for awhile. One of the staff recommended it. TG I’d brought cash. Seating was jammed, so I politely asked another woman if she’d mind if I shared her table. TG, not a problem. I looked around at others’ lunches, and they all looked great!

The fact that I’m doing this posting should tell you how angry I am. Went there for the first time today based on a friend’s recommendation and the fact I have to be at Mt. Zion everyday for the next month. Decent sandwich. Sandwich guys incredibly unfriendly, wear gloves for what reason I don’t know because they take them on and off, wipe their brows, etc…, and most incredulously, the jerk who handles the cash accuses me of trying to shoplift two $ 8 sandwiches. I place my order for two sandwiches at the order counter, then go pay this jerk. He gives me my receipt, then my $ 4.03 change and then I go back and wait. My meter was running so I was in a hurry. I then get the sandwiches and ask for a bag, and then he asks me if I paid for them then I replied, «Yes, you took my $ 20». He gives me the bag, and as I walk out he calls me back and says I never paid for them. Knowing my meter was running I said, «If I have $ 4.03 in my pocket with a receipt, you owe me an apology, plus you should give me the sandwiches free.» People were watching and not only was it embarassing, I pulled out the receipt and the $ 4.03 chane(he gave me). He then muttered something and then I literally had to run. Absolutely brutal service and a shame to treat customers like this. If you’re the owner and reading this, you need to talk to this jerk.

Pete’s Deli is growing on me, I guess. Most of their food is just about average and their prices are a little on the high side considering there’s really nothing special or gourmet about their food. They are really popular at lunch time and the place is pretty crowded most of the time. I guess it’s because their customers like the fact that the service is fast and friendly. So far, I’ve tried the following items: Turkey sandwich with cranberry sauce: Turkey is cold. The soft roll is blah. There’s not much on the sandwich but the cranberry sauce. Not worth the price. Breakfast burritos and breakfast sandwiches: These are pretty good. You get your sandwich or burrito piping hot. For both, you get your choice of ham, bacon or sausage and it comes with egg and cheese. If you get the«special breakfast burrito» it comes with hashbrowned potatoes and salsa too, for about a dollar extra. I think the sandwiches are more worth the price because the burritos are pretty small whether or not you get the regular or the special. Mediterranean Plate: Comes with hummus, tabouleh, two medium size falafel, diced cucumber and tomatoes and a pita sliced into 4 wedges. The taste of everything was fairly well seasoned and fresh. I would say that this plate is worth the price(around $ 6 or $ 7) and is a good option for when you feel like having a light or vegetarian lunch.

Stopped by for a quick sandwich and was pleasantly surprised to find a full menu with lots of unexpected offerings. You can find pretty much any type of lunch you’re looking for(hot sandwich, cold sandwich, burrito, breakfast, chicken, special of the day, etc…) and everything looked good from what I could tell from creepily looking at other people’s plates. + prices were good($ 6.50 for a huge sandwich I made into two meals) + wide variety + healthy options + giant cooler with gas station level of variety — cash only — confusing to order if you’ve never been there I got the turkey, avacado and swiss on dutch crunch and WOWZA make sure to get the dutch crunch. It was DELICIOUS. Half of my sandwich and I was more than satisfied so I kept the other half for later(I’m currently eating it). When reheating dutch crunch, just put it in the toaster oven for a couple minutes and it is seriously ALMOST better than the first time around. I will definitely return here for lunch… I can’t promise I won’t order the same again and again though. SOGOOD!

We(4 people) were in the area due to a visit to Mount Zion hospital. We had two meals in the same day. Sadly, both times we had problems. For breakfast they served us cool and undercooked potatoes with our eggs. Three of the four didn’t turn back the potatoes but didn’t eat them. The fourth person told the cook and he rolled is eyes and gave us a new plate. Unfortunately they weren’t much warmer or cooked. We paid for a side order of avocado but never received. For our lunch they got one burrito order incorrect. But they did correct it after we let them know. The two burgers had stale buns and very dry. The fourth meal was a pulled pork sandwich which was good. Though the staff seemed nice enough the food is very inconsistent. There are not a lot of restaurant choices in the area but we will attempt to find another place located near the hospital.

I did a double take when I saw the name. Peet’s vs Pete’s. Anyway that confusion did not last too long. This is a long way from Peet’s. This is neighborhood diner right across from UCSF. It is small, pretty bare and serve breakfast, sandwiches, coffee etc. It was pretty busy and I am sure they get a lot of traffic from UCSF. It would have been a higher rating except that they messed up my order. Wrong type of bread and wrong fillings in my omelet. Note — they don’t accept CC, you need those greenbacks.
