Pier 27- Cruise Terminal

The cruise ship terminal was updated in the recent past. Before you had to board the ship basically from a warehouse, but the terminal is very nice. Passenger drop off and pick up is a nightmare though and that is in part to the short area for the passengers to be dropped off.

Such an awesome venue for ZAP (Zinfandel Advocates & Producers). The views, location, and overall flow of the event was great!

The entire second floor was set up for the «Suits and Sneakers 2016» event. This charitable fashion show benefits our men and women who served our country. Current and former professional athletes take to the runway and model the latest togs. Tommy Lee and Guy Fieri popped in to the party too. The venue was set up as a huge nightclub with a runway in the center of it all.
The views are incredibly beautiful. The Bay Bridge serves as a permanent backdrop as the entire east side of the building is covered in floor to ceiling windows. The Embarcadero buildings outlined in lights just add to the experience.
It was easily accessible – you can drive right up to the conference center and just as easy to exit – we took Battery on the way home.

I came here for a conference and the terminal was set up as an event convention center. Initially I thought it was a great idea for a space– both a downstairs floor and an upstairs floor. The downstairs was ok and the conference had food trucks set up at the garage door openings that faced the bay. This was not enough food for the conference and it was a large fail.
Upstairs, the conference didn’t utilize all the space and the acoustics were TERRIBLE. I ended up leaving the conference early because it wasn’t worth staying unless you were part of the luck group that had seating (guess what else there was an astounding lack of at this conference?).
All in all, I think that if this place continues to be used as event space that the organizers should be careful to use true professionals for set up and logistics.

Boarded an Alaskan cruise with Celebrity Cruises, the ports looks nice in both the inside and the outside the only problem was the check in which was a nightmare though the agents were friendly and helpful but slow checking passengers in what usually takes me less than an hour to board a cruise ship too well over 2 hours. This is my home port so it was frustrating going through the terminal. I like the fact that there is a drop off and pick up section compared to when boarding a cruise ship from pier 35. They still have to work out the kinks with this pier so that they can get the passengers on their way to their vacation. Hopefully they can get things going the right way.

Our cruising experience at this newer terminal was actually pretty good. It was quick and all the employees helped the process go pretty fast. We cruised with Princess and we ended up getting on the boat fast. We ended up carrying all of our luggage onto the ship, because we had never cruised before and we were kind of confused what the porters were doing. Now though we are glad we carried on our luggage, because we talked to other passengers who said they were very rough with their luggage.

Who’d knew this place is so appropriate for conventions an conferences? It looks like a pier on the outside but its actually quite big and roomy inside. Was here for developer week and saw a few demos. Definitely a nice choice in terms on venue, having both upstairs and downstairs presentation rooms.
