I have never used Unilocal to review anything other than restaurants but I just had to share what a great experience I had today in this awesome store. Wonderful selection of vintage fashion and art books. The couple that runs this place are so cool and fun. Take the time to check this place out!

Hipster books and things at hipster prices. Hello gentrification, goodbye 24th Street.

I love independent bookstores so when Press works on Paper opened in my neighborhood, I was excited to check them out. I found a cool book on building assemblage boxes a la Joseph Cornell. However, the owner was not very friendly and seemed not even interested in my business. The book was $ 27 and I assumed out of print, but when I looked online later, I found the same book going for $ 3! I understand a bit of markup, but this seemed extreme, especially since I am an art teacher and was going to use it for my classroom. Synopsis: out of print books that you could buy at a library sale, marked up. Pretentious owners that don’t seem interested in building report with their customers. Two stars because they have cool art magazines.

This place has a good selection of cards, notebooks, magazines and sketch supplies that are hard to find and/or unique. Perfectly curated.

I was super excited to see this new addition to the neighborhood. I pass it everyday on 24th Street on my way to BART. Everything inside is super cool or cute or both! I could admire the lovely cards and pretty paper alllll day.

This well curated shop is off the beaten path and worth a visit. If you’re into letterpress this is your place. Beautiful cards, collectable used books and hard to find pencils and pens. I spent some time thumbing through an Esprit design book, which brought back a flood of memories of visiting the factory outlet in China Basin as a middle schooler. Ah, the memories.

Such an amazing store! The owners are the sweetest and made me feel at home while I browsed their lovely store. What they represent is clearly defined and unique. I loved their collection of vintage fashion and art books. Lastly, I felt like I was making out like a bandit when I bought the new issue of Apartameno. It seems they are selling it for less than other stores in SF?

Friggin adorable, and truly amazing collection of rare, collectible and other used books that they’ve put together both for their aesthetic strength and engaging content. Check out their website for an idea of what’s there, but really is worth going to the cute store. Nice addition to the neighborhood. Also beautiful collection of handmade gift papers. Only complaint is that I wish they hard more letterpress cards and items. Seems like the perfect store to show off all the amazing letterpress work by people in the Bay Area. But overall a total surprise and I will definitely be back.
