SOSADDD :(:(:(:(:( We ordered Raijin tonight for pick up only to arrive and find their storefront dark.(thanks , for not updating your site earlier… though, about 20 minutes after our confirmation email came in, a cancellation email followed and the BeyondMenu site for Raijin updated to say«no delivery today»… — or ever?) The Raijin sign was also gone. Immediate Google searches find that the space will be changed to a «Hot Zushi» in the near future, per Hoodline.(mmm, and lame name points go to??? :(.) The latest victim of SF ridiculous rent games? :(I will miss you, Raijin! Hope you open elsewhere with success. Apparently the Lower Haight is quickly deteriorating as a place for mom and pop shops to subsist in peace.

So yummy I can’t stop thinking about the first time I came here and how delicious and melt-in-your mouth the fish was! The spicy rolls were my favorite, and paired well with TONS of Sake. I’m ready for more!

Great food great sake… My boyfriend and I will definitely coming here again if we should be there in the neighborhood. They staff was nice didn’t feel rushed at all even if it was dinner time. The blue bottle sake was sweet but tart oh gosh soooo tasty!

Great family run neighborhood Japanese Restaurant with fresh food, friendly staff and brown rice option upon request. One is greeted with complimentary edamame upon arrival. Favorite dishes are salmon skin less rice and salmon dinner with brown rice; yum!

Just don’t. I ordered for delivery and could only eat about half of it… not because I was full, but because it tasted like old mushy fish.

3.5! First night in SF and pooped from a long day of traveling, b. and I decided to stick close to our hotel and came upon this place during our search for something yummy for dinner. We got a couple of Kirins, a Spicy Salmon Roll(large with plenty of filling), a Seafood Udon(good), and a Veggie Tofu Donburi(didn’t look the most appetizing but tasted pretty good). Our meal was preceded by some complimentary edamame, which was nice. Our waitress was friendly and prompt. She accidentally served us Sapporos at first but didn’t make a fuss at all when we reminded her that we had ordered Kirins even though the bottles had already been opened. Bright and clean environment. Nothing to rave about but nothing to complain about either. A satisfactory first meal in SF.

The newest sushi addition to the Lower Haight, it holds its own. I got the Raijin Roll and a spicy tuna roll. The spicy tuna roll was larger and more flavorful than your average basic roll. I feel like whenever you order the normal basic rolls(tuna/salmon/california) at sushi places, they’re always tiny, but these were actually substantial. The Raijin Roll was a mouthful and had a nice complement of crunchy fried things and soft fish. My only complaint about the sushi rolls was that the rice seemed a smidge more like normal rice than sushi rice– it kept falling off the sushi. They brought out free edamame as an appetizer, which was a nice bonus. My boyfriend got the charishi and said that it was decent, but not the best. It also took awhile for them to bring out the sushi while I sadly watched my cohorts eat. Granted, we were there toward the end of the night on a weekday and there was a significant number of people there.

You can just tell that the people who own this place work really hard on their business. Although location isn’t the best, this sushi spot is pretty good! Clean atmosphere, sashimi nice and smooth like butter, & fresh oysters are so sweet. It’s a nice little spot, check em out!
