Really great food. We had the Sushi deluxe and it was amazing value for money. The rice dishes were great too.

Great food, great service! They were a little busy when we walked in, but everything was quick and delicious. It can get a little loud in there, so if you’re looking for a quiet spot to catch up with people, might not be the greatest place, but besides that, no complaints. The four seasons roll is an experience. Looks like a work of art and tastes great.

I ordered delivery sushi from here. No gripes with the delivery time. The first roll tasted like straight mayo and the rest smelled fishy. I had to spit it out because I started gagging. It sounds dramatic and maybe it was because they didn’t have a fresh delivery of fish, but never again.

This place is off the hook, I’m finding myself eating here all the time. The food is fresh authentic and the staff are awesome. I can’t recommend anything in particular because it’s all good.

This is one of my favorite Japanese spots on the city. Huge menu with something for everyone. all of their ramen is great, especially given the price. Tempura udon is also one of my favorites, the tempura batter they use is phenomenal. I highly recommend this place at a easy/affordable sushi spot

I’ve been here a few times for lunch, each time the sushi was super fresh and excepetionally delicious! The service is great– the hostess is pleasant and helpful when needing suggestions or recommendations. This is my new favorite sushi restaurant in the city. I would come here multiple times a week if I lived closer!

First time trying this place for delivery and already disappointed. It took 1 hour and 45 mins to get my food, I called the restaurant after an hour and a half and spoke with a lady and told her its been over an hour and she said«oh the delivery driver went to the wrong address» so when my food came after 1hr and 45mins it was cold I ordered a chicken teriyaki bento box and the chicken was kinda rubbery and bland with no taste it was not that great. The tempura shrimp and vegetables were good so I give 1 star. I didn’t even eat the regular California rolls. I also ordered a Walnut Prawn Roll and it was OK I’ve had better. The deep fried California Roll was delicious so that’s where they get the 2nd star I don’t think its worth ordering delivery from them again

I live in the neighborhood and used to eat here about twice a month or more. I think the food is pretty good and worth the price. It’s not hip and trendy or super traditional, artisan Japanese. It’s reliably good: clean, nice presentation, fresh ingredients. The bentos are a great value and a good bet for when you are really hungry or want to eat a variety of things. The Udon is good on cold days, and I love the House Special Ramen. It’s not cutting edge like other places try to be, but it’s not grossly heavy and greasy. I would call it a «week night ramen». On more than one occasion I’ve treated myself to the Sashimi Assortment and a couple of deep fried rolls. I love getting edamame or wakame salad to compliment my meals. All in all, I have never had an issue with the food. The service, on the other hand, is another issue all together. Lately the service, at least during the day, has been AWFUL. It didn’t always use to be this way, but within the last couple of years the servers have been very slow and inattentive. It’s not across the board bad, like the waitresses are rude and the food comes out cold. I’ll give them that, at least. But every time I’ve been here for lunch for the last couple of years, I have felt like the service was mediocre to bad. One waitress NEVER refills our water. Every time she is working, we are thirsty. We have tried making eye contact with her, but she is usually busy chatting with the sushi chef. I am not someone that insists water glasses be kept full just on principle. But if a water glass is empty, especially if the glass is tiny like theirs are, I feel like it’s just common courtesy to ask if the customer wants a refill. Or, you know, ask if we want anything at all, rather than just socializing until bringing us our bill. I recognize that we are in a drought, but it’s incredibly unlikely that has anything to do with it. Other restaurants have signs at the table or on the menu clearly stating their water policies. There is another server that, after our meal is served, forgets that we exist. Long after we have finished eating we wait and wait and wait for the bill. I don’t get the impression that she’s extremely busy, because she’ll do busy work like refill soy sauce bottles or sit at the sushi bar. We have done extremely passive aggressive things like piling up our empty plates and pushing them as close to the edge of the table as possible so she can see that we are finished eating. She has never given us the bill without us asking for it first, and it’s not like we demand it the second our chopsticks are laid to rest on the table. I am talking 15+ minutes! We only ever get her attention by practically pouncing her as she is making her way back from serving another table. As a diner I don’t require being excessively fussed over and I don’t need to be asked if I’m doing OK a dozen times throughout my meal, but not checking in at all seems like poor customer service to me. It would be understandable that service is slow if they were slammed, but there are only ever 2 – 4 other customers when we are there??? I get that it can be boring working in a fairly empty restaurant and it can be easy to get carried away with a conversation trying to fill the time… But if you only have 2 – 3 tables you need to look after, you should do that first before chit chatting. I suppose we could have gotten up and asked for more water or for our bill, but it seems like it’s part of the restaurant dining experience for these things to be provided for the customer without the customer having to ask for them. This isn’t the kind of restaurant where we order from a menu on the wall and as soon as our food is served, we’re completely left to our own devices. This is a restaurant that purports to have waiter service, and we are expected to give gratuity regardless of if that service is good. My husband never wants to eat here anymore. After months and months of inattentive service, he’s over it. I still like the food and the prices, so I will call ahead and get takeout. That has been mostly reliable for me so far. I haven’t eaten dinner here in awhile, so for all I know the service is excellent once the sun sets. But if you want a quick lunch and/or have a thirst that needs quenching, do not go to Sushi Raw.

One of my favorite Japanese restaurant. The service was great and the wait staff made sure we had a great time. The sashimi is great and reasonably priced. We will definitely come back.

Love this place! Kiki(mgr or owner?) made sure our time at Sushi Raw was nothing short of perfect! One of our friends is allergic to shrimp, so Kiki was very careful telling us what did and did not contain shrimp when she brought our rolls to the table. My party thought the fish was extremely fresh(contrary to what other reviewers have said), and the service was excellent. Kiki even gave us some complimentary sake at the end, which was so sweet and unnecessary, but we greatly appreciated the gesture. We will certainly be back again! Looking forward to trying this place at happy hour! Thanks for a fantastic Friday night dinner! :-)

Fish is not fresh, food is not great but it’s cheap. Go elsewhere in the neighborhood for a few bucks more(Nara which is 1 block away for example). Will not go back.

I usually get a simple order of Sake & Sake(Salmon and sake). Popped in for lunch special and the salmon sashimi was 5 huge slices of fresh, buttery fish for 7.99. I actually thought the plate ware was delicate and pretty, which is usually not the case in sushi spots so nice touch. Construction on the street so gotta move my car! Ha

Delicious food! The service is pretty slow which was annoying because we were there late, around 8PM on a Thursday, so it was post-happy hour. We were also one of the few people there so it didn’t really make sense. Anyway, I can overlook it because everything we ate was delicious! The $ 1 oyster special was fantastic — delicious, meaty, big oysters. I could have had 20 and been full, but I wanted to try out other menu items(:

Had a Tekka Maki(just tuna roll) last night and it was NOTFRESH. I wish I had said something because it was gross. The New York roll was bland but good. We really loved the Double Hamachi Roll and to fill up we decided to order the chicken teriyaki roll considering the fish wasn’t fresh. The service wasn’t great either. Honestly, that double hamachi roll is so good that I’d maybe just get take out for that,

This has got to be my favorite sushi place in SF! I’ve now been here four times and it’s gets better every time. The staff is super friendly and informative and helpful. Food is fresh and tasty. Happy hour is amazing Mon — TH and you can get very high quality oysters for a buck. I highly recommend the walnut prawn roll and the Hamachi sashimi. So delicate and fresh. Also found out THEYDELIVER! Great, clean restaurant with great food.

For the price and easy accommodation, I really like this place. I came here with a large group of friends and we were able to sit at a large table on the upper level. Food came out quickly and our meal was very well-priced. It wasn’t the best sushi that I ever had, but I liked the quality overall and how easy this place was. I would go back.

FOOD: Chirashi bowl — it seemed skimpy… and didn’t come with miso or salad. Chicken teriyaki — I like how it came with two nigiri and miso soup SERVICE: Good but kinda slowish ATMOSPHERE: Not bad I like it. Overall I would much prefer to go to another spot for Japanese. 11.15.13

I can only attest to the takeout here, and only about the red dragon roll. After experiencing a less than stellar experience at another sushi restaurant in the city, this place was a wonderful change! Ordering was easy – I placed my order through Unilocal(eat24) and set the time for 7:10. I arrived early at 7:03, and had to wait a few minutes because I was early. No biggie, and the food was prepared quickly. I also asked for extra soy sauce, and they gave me 4 packets! The red dragon roll(avocado and shrimp tempura inside, spicy tuna on top) was quite filling and tasted quite fresh. The spicy tuna held its composure(I.e., there weren’t discernible chunks of tuna, which I suppose some people prefer, but I like when it has a soft texture) and the shrimp tempura stayed crispy. Definitely will order again and perhaps try other rolls too(if you’re looking to get a bigger meal with the same fish components, the red dragon roll costs the same as one spicy tuna and one shrimp tempura roll).
