Rickshaw Bar-olde chinatown SF

Rickshaw Bar was visited by the Beatles in 1964.
i came here in the 70’
that time, it was operated as a «hostess» bar. an hostess bar has employees who sit with patrons and solicits them to buy drinks (often just colored tea).
Rickshaw was mostly staffed by vietnamese ladies, there were also laotians, thais, some chinese and some koreans. lots of eye candy here. (4 stars)
it wasn’t uncommon for hostesses to have more than one birthday a year («honey, can you buy me a drink?, it’s my birthday!) with so many birthdays, these gals still look pretty young.
beer is the preferred drink here. rickshaw had a reputation of mixing hard liquor brands with cheaper versions of liquor.
