So yeah, 6^th Street between Market and Mission is probably the most terrifying street in all of Northern California. Not sure what it is about this particular block, but it’s the dictionary entry for Skid Row. But even the worst of streets needs a convenient place for groceries.
If you can wrap your head around the bulletproof glass that protects the gum you’ll be A-​OK. It’s quite silly actually. They have about every flavor you can imagine which is great for a chronic gum chewer like myself.
Also, they had like, 30 bottles of Andre champagne and no other varietals. I imagine folks in this neighborhood aren’t exactly popping bottles of Dom so it makes sense.
Your best bet is to shop here during the day. You should be scared for your life being anywhere near 6^th once the sun goes down.
