I’m giving Dr. Bhisitkul two stars because he does seem like a capable ophthalmologist. Yes, he has an impressive resume, he preformed the standard checkup efficiently and seemed professional. Where he loses points is in his insensitivity and dismissiveness. He did not take the time to listen, he brushed away my questions and was generally condescending. After leaving his office I could barely keep it together long enough to make it to the bathroom where I cried like a baby. It was the first time a doctor had made me feel completely hopeless about my eye condition. He basically told me that there’s nothing anyone can do for me, and I have to sit back and do nothing as my vision deteriorates. I have since learned that I have a few great options from other(better informed) doctors. If you need a basic eye exam, this is the guy for the job. Anything more complicated, I’d look elsewhere.

If you are in need of a retina specialist, Dr. Bhisitkul is the one to see. Take a look at his resume and that pretty much tells you everything. Stanford PhD… not too shabby. His office staff over at UCSF Medical Center is also super friendly and professional. If you live in dread fear(as I do) of a retinal detachment, please get your eyes checked out by Dr. B. I have trusted him with my horribly near-sighted eyeballs for over ten years and I am still A-Okay!
